Used to come here all the time and stopped by after mini golfing at Swingers. The bar area was a bit empty when we got there but started getting busy around 10pm. Chatted with a couple of people staying at the hotel which was fun. Drinks were solid and priced reasonably compared to other hotel lobby bars. The bartenders were friendly and attentive as well. Recommend grabbing a drink or two if nearby!

Dark, cozy lobby bar that was a nice spot to catch up with a small group of friends. It was surprisingly very busy on a Wednesday night - this spot definitely attracts the post workday crowd. Both cocktails I tried were great (La Renarde and Lover's Lost), and my friends also enjoyed their drinks. I was also impressed with the service - the staff quickly cleaned tables and were kind enough to help us move tables when a reservation arrived to take our original table.

I'm not sure why people like working out of here. It's very dark and the wifi is really slow. Also, there's not a lot of tables to work off of. But I guess the staff is nice and the coffee is descent for the price and quality.

Absolutely love coming here after the work, and also on lunch breaks. Their mornings are filled with WFH... or rather Work From Wherever I want kind of folks. It can be quite quiet before 3 with the only loudness being Stumptown's delicious coffee being served in the lobby and next door, they're Mocha Latte is my go to, please try it and let me know what you think with a thumbs up or down if it allows.... I know you'll be sticking to the formal option ;). After 3 pm is where the magic happens, aka happy hour. They have a great selection of cocktails and meals like their Wagyu Beef Burger which is to die for--- I have to try it in a medium format next time rather than medium-well, it's served with perfectly salted fries and a long dill pickle on the side if you're into that. If you find their chicken tender selection it's great as well. At around 7 pm a DJ starts to fill their ambience with different type of music from house, deep house to piano work. It's perfect for any kind of group there's pockets of the lobby that can serve for more intimate conversations allowing you to forget the environment around you... All the employees here are awesome, shoutouts and much to the bartenders, front desk and doormen.

Long Island Thai Tea - citrusy and refreshing, and just $12 on happy hour, 3-6 pm.

Dark, cozy bar in the lobby of the Ace hotel with friendly bartender and some comfortable seating. They have happy hour daily 3-6 pm; $12 fir Ling Island Thai Tea, Pimm's Cup or Palm Springs (vodka, lemonade, hibiscus and club soda. I had the Long Island, and it was actually citrusy and quite good. They also have appetizers and a couple desserts.

Great drinks and good food. I had the Black Cherry Old Fashioned and the La Renarde. Both were well balanced and spirit forward, definitely recommend. The tuna tartare was great, I liked the flavor and a decent portion for an appetizer. The bean tapenade was good too, it's like a bean hummus. I would say it wasn't served with enough bread and it was a bit too cold for what it should have been. Atmosphere was nice at first glance, but kind of lost its appeal the longer I sat there. After a while I felt like I was at a republican's bar in DC, with the elk head on the wall, the enormous American flag behind the bar, and the huge columns and leather seats.

The lobby at Ace hotel is the perfect hidden gem for remote workers like myself. The ambience is conducive to focus, yet not overly quiet - perfect balance for a work session or to cozy up any afternoon. Picked up some peppermint tea next door at Stumptown Coffee Roasters which is ideally located! Whether you're seeking a cozy afternoon or productive workspace, this is a winning combination. Super cool to see everyone doing their own thing here. 10/10

The lobby was a chill place to work and grab a coffee. I went in the daytime so cant speak on what the vibe is at night unfortunately, but I'll tell you this - bring your dancing shoes.

A bar located in the hotel lobby that takes a massive piece of real estate on the first floor. Whenever I walk in here, during the earlier hours it's lit a little better and there are people working on laptops and seat around the lounge space. Later on in the evening, you just see a lot of people having drinks and ordering from the bar. They do have some beers, although they tend to have more bottled and canned beers than from the tap. They also have bathrooms downstairs, as well as a liberty space that you can reserve downstairs for events. It's an interesting place to hang out, gets quite loud, but looks very different given its tall ceiling and the couches and bar seating around the lobby.

As someone who frequently comes to the Stumptown Coffee that's located in this hotel, I was always curious about this hotel lobby bar. Even without getting something to eat/drink, Ace Hotel's lobby area is open to the public and is a popular space to bring your work. Many people are on their laptops during the day. I hadn't had a chance to explore this space at night and got a recent chance to try out the bar. There's plenty of seating, with large sofas and armchairs for more of a casual setting if that's what you prefer. The lighting here is usually pretty dim so it adds to the ambiance and experience. I didn't order a drink from the lobby bar but ended up trying out their French Onion Soup since I visited during dinner hours. It was a perfect choice for the cold and rainy day outside. I like trying out French Onion Soups from different places and I have to say the melted cheese on top of this one was memorable. Instead of the halfway-sagging melted cheese on top of the soup, this cheese was perfectly intact and neatly perched on top of the bowl, lightly burnt on the surface for the appropriate amount of crispiness on top. It seemed like the cheese they used was really authentic too. You do have to be prepared for the smell though, because the strong cheese smell seems to indicate how authentic it is. If you're visiting on a cold, rainy day like I did, I recommend trying this soup out. Even if you don't order the soup, this place is still worth the visit for its casual ambiance and experience.

It's a nice lobby but it's too dark. It's like entering a cave with good music in the background. I sat on a couch to wait for my friends. Then came a lady with a cute little chihuahua sitting next to me. So ok dogs are allowed here. Was here for an hour and when my friends walked in we decided to move to the restaurant section next door for happy hours and some appetizers. Nothing to brag about except this place offers quite a very good service.

Good selection of cocktails, nice dark vibes, ample seating and well decorated. Came for a gallery opening, seems like a great place for a happy hour drink, however music is a bit loud.

Can't complain. They have four booths in the back maybe it was three. I did notice one of the hanging lights was from an 80s pizza hut joint. Letting you know now the paper towels for your face at the table felt like jail toliet paper, very rough. The bar doesn't have bar stools with backs! The energy is right there, hovering, but it never actually lands. It's giving "almost iconic" but not quite--like a party that never fully starts. And that's what gets me. Because this bar could EASILY be that spot. The kind people plan their week around. Where are the themed nights? Where's the drama? The chaos? Give me a reason to come back on a random Wednesday. Do a city-event tie-in, a holiday takeover, literally anything that makes it feel alive instead of just... existing. Because right now it feels like a missed opportunity wearing a cute outfit. BUT--let's talk about the one thing they absolutely did not fumble: the view. The VIEW??? Insane. Genuinely stunning. The kind of view that makes you pause mid-sentence and remember you're in New York and not just spiraling in your own life choices. It's carrying the entire experience on its back, respectfully. So yeah. I'd come back... but mostly for the view and the potential. If they ever decide to actually do something with this space? It could be dangerous (in a good way). Until then, it's vibes... just not fully realized ones.

The view is gorgeous and sweeping. The service is attentive and professional. The drinks are sophisticated. I ended up here because I saw a video about their gin and tonic. Sounds simple, but it's one of my favorite drinks, and I'm always looking for someone who can do it well. I ordered their "dear G&T" and it was a fruity, complex riff on my old favorite. I also got the foreign forage, "a bourbon smash with a mint zing." It was also a delicious take on a classic. They have several types of cocktails, all broken down by spirit and flavor profile. They also offer a lot of spirits made in New York State. They have cocktails with earthy notes, fruity notes, fancy martinis, and a section boasting limited edition and special spirits, if you're "feeling fancy" and wanna cough up 35 bucks instead of 20 or 25! They have a bar snacks menu (sliders, nuts, and the like). I had their thick cut fries and they were light, seasoned, and tasty. I couldn't stop eating them. Midtown or not, I highly recommend this spot, which also has a couple other locations, including Gramercy.
