We were counting on it right through the day before when I even filled out an express checkout form. 30 minutes before we were scheduled to pick it up, we received a phone call that there was no van, and in fact, no other options were available. When I explained that we were already on our way there, the jerk says, "Well, keep drivin' south, I got nothin' for ya". When I said we had paid in advance for the rental, I was told that I needed to talk to Expedia to even get a refund. This was Purdue graduation weekend, and I tried to impress on him that they were really putting us in a bind. I was told to "try a competitor, but there was probably nothing anywhere." I asked how this could happen, and I was informed that they routinely over-book. Zero contrition, and totally unwilling to offer any solutions to the impossible circumstances they created for us. I will NEVER forget this abhorrent lack of customer service. Don't give them the opportunity to screw you over like they did us.

Incredibly unprofessional. Cancelled a reservation I made with a corporate account without…read morenotifying me. I showed up and he told me it was canceled in person. When I showed him the reservation didn't show as cancelled on my end, he said he didn't actually cancel it in case I showed up to "confront" him, he wanted all the information there. I should be able to expect that once I make a reservation, I will have a car. If overbooking is done inadvertently, the minimum should be doing me the courtesy of canceling the reservation in advance so I don't waste my time. It's bizarre that he expected a confrontation and chose to waste my time over that. Apparently this spot is regularly in the position of canceling folks' reservations and incurring anger as a result. Worse, I was easily able to make a reservation without my corporate account (at double the price) for the exact same time and car -- so maybe he just didn't want to let me take the car at the corporate discount price when he could make more off regular customers? It would explain why the app didn't show the location as sold out. I cancelled the second reservation myself because I won't give this location any business. The agent at the location - Mikah - was very rude, unsympathetic, and generally unprofessional.

I called to inquire about rental car fees that would eventually be covered by insurance. I asked if…read morethere were set rates typically used with insurance companies, but the representative I spoke with (Sam) responded in a raised voice and told me he couldn't assist without an active insurance claim. I ended the call, as his tone felt unprofessional and dismissive, despite me simply trying to understand the process. Afterward, I called the Lafayette Enterprise location and had a completely different experience. The representative there was courteous and helpful--she was able to schedule a reservation for me using the insurance company's rate with no issue. It's completely understandable if someone isn't sure how to handle a specific situation, but professionalism and clear communication are still important. I hope this feedback encourages better customer service going forward.

Last two years I have had occasions to rent a Dodge 2500 Quad Cab Pickup from this company. The…read morecustomer service is wonderful. September, 2024 Visit…read more We visited Lafayette / West Lafayette, IN for my uncle's funeral. Our travel plans had us needing to get to Indianapolis for a flight. There is a limo option in town, and you can rent a full limo or ride on a bus like a hotel or rental car shuttle - both good options. For us, a better solution was... a one-way rental from National, which let us be on our own schedule, and to drive our own route... National... where Green Means Go... decades after I first started renting with them, it's still so nice to pick the car we drive. The Purdue University / Lafayette airport is not big, and that can be a nice thing, as often the other facilities, like the rental car offices, are less constraining... in that is the case here. We had to call the after hours line because they had closed soon after we picked up the van. The van was really dirty and had scratches on it when they gave it to us. Drove it back to their lot and had the tow truck pick it up. We have been dealing with them ever since. They didn't even know where their car was and kept calling us telling us we needed to return it, even though we called their after hours line and did just what they said. We are still trying to resolve it more than a month later and still waiting for our refund. Never rent here!!
