Then when I tried to extend my reservation, as they requested, the local phone line rang and rang...I literally tried for 3 days to get ahold of someone, even called reservation toll free number and they couldn't get ahold of anyone. THEN when I returned the vehicle I asked for someone to drive me 1.5 mile down the road--on the same road as Hertz to the body shop--they said no. It was 97degrees with a heat index of 105. Employee just kind of giggled and said, "Nope I can't". Only reason I'm giving 2 start is the car ran well, and they did give me a good rate.

We had to call the after hours line because they had closed soon after we picked up the van. The van was really dirty and had scratches on it when they gave it to us. Drove it back to their lot and had the tow truck pick it up. We have been dealing with them ever since. They didn't even know where their car was and kept calling us telling us we needed to return it, even though we called their after hours line and did just what they said. We are still trying to resolve it more than a month later and still waiting for our refund. Never rent here!!

So all in all we were on an anniversary trip and had $654 we couldn't access. This is a very shady sneaking dishonest company and we will never us them again. I called to inquire about rental car fees that would eventually be covered by insurance. I asked if…read morethere were set rates typically used with insurance companies, but the representative I spoke with (Sam) responded in a raised voice and told me he couldn't assist without an active insurance claim. I ended the call, as his tone felt unprofessional and dismissive, despite me simply trying to understand the process. Afterward, I called the Lafayette Enterprise location and had a completely different experience. The representative there was courteous and helpful--she was able to schedule a reservation for me using the insurance company's rate with no issue. It's completely understandable if someone isn't sure how to handle a specific situation, but professionalism and clear communication are still important. I hope this feedback encourages better customer service going forward.

The main negative is that it was freezing cold outside and they wouldn't let anyone in the building. This was both ridiculous and maddening. We were able to return the van smoothly in Charlotte without any issues. However, these folks need to learn a thing or 2 about hospitality.
