I thought that it was an English barrier issue so we went around and around and by the third reiteration of her requiring a $20 tip, I caved and gave it to her because I just wanted to get out of there. It was a very awkward and unprofessional situation from the get-go. It's highly manipulative to demand a 30% tip. My boyfriend stuck to his guns and said I am giving you $10 in tip and that's it (for his massage). Oh yes, she made him pay before the massage in advance which is very unusual. And like other male reviewers he was only covered with a hand towel over his private parts. He was not given a sheet or blanket for privacy. He was very uncomfortable with that. When his massage was over, she asked for a $20 tip. We will never return. The lady gave me an apple and an orange when I left. I presume because she knew I wasn't happy with the booking process or paying the high tip. Like an apple and an orange is worth an extra $10 tip. Ridiculous, unprofessional, and manipulative. Although interruptions/distractions did happen during most services I received (once or twice) I came back hoping that they were going through growing pains of opening a new business. The establishment is very clean and the massage was okay; however, I was unable to relax and did not find the atmosphere at all tranquil due to constant distractions and interruptions. Although another employee was at the spa (evidenced by her speaking loudly on speaker phone while walking up and down the hall outside the room) my masseuse answered her phone twice during the massage.
