This was by far the worst massage I've ever had. First off I don't think you should pay for a service before you have the service done. (I refused to tip until I had actually been massaged) The guy at the front desk who charged me and acted like he was unaware of my appointment. I asked him a few questions and he just straight up ignored me. He ended up being my masseuse He was extremely rough and careless with his movements. My back skin was in so much pain because he hardly used any oil. I don't know what else to say other than this guy is crazy dismissive and should not be giving massages with that kind of pent up anger. He was hitting my body and back for what felt like 3 min straight, I don't know how that would make anyone relaxed or what kind of technique that was. I think it's important I mention that I get a 2 hour hard deep tissue massage, from a male, every weekend and have never been this roughed up. I tipped him $6 for at least massaging my butt. My massage was from an Asian girl, not a big and strong girl so she used her arms and hands. I told what I wanted and she massaged my back and feet. I was happy with the massage. The place was nice and clean and my one-hour massage was in a private room. When she was done, she wiped all the oil off with a hot water towel. She spoke broken English, but in the end everything was good. I had to park in the liquor store parking. I enjoyed my massage and would recommend this place. The place was very clean. I went where with a sore back and really wanted to relax with a deep tissue massage. When I arrived here I was greeted with a calm and nice welcome. My massage started out very well and I was able to relax with my massage. She walked on my back and it felt so amazing I could have played there for hours. When we where done with the massage I felt great relaxed and my back pain was gone. I had been here a while back and it was not very good but now it is nice. There is a all new younger girls. TERRIBLE BUSINESS!!! They will not honor their gift certificates, despite there not being any expiration date or explanation of terms anywhere on the certificate. Certificates were given to me as a birthday gift and when I went in for my appointment I couldn't see any explanation of the certificate terms obviously posted in the business (seems reasonable if they're not going to print it on the certificate). My only request was that they honor the certificate's face value and apply it towards the current rates. They wouldn't even do that, stating the certificate was more than a year old. Only giving 2 stars because my boyfriends massage was great, but mine was not. We got a couples massage and were in the same room. The girl massaging my boyfriend started and my girl was just standing there talking and started about 5 minutes after. They then proceeded to talk very loud for the first 10 minutes of our massage.My girl then took 3 bathroom breaks throughout the hour?? then at the end she said she was done before the girl massaging my boyfriend was done!! got a 45 minute massage while he got his full hour. And to top it off, I could hear the toilet flush in the other room and her come straight back in... without washing her hands. Would recommend this place if it was based off of his experience, but we honestly won't be coming back because of mine. read more

Since I work in The Village and didn't feel like driving anywhere, I decided to give this place another try. Especially since, once again, my shoulders had more knots than a macrame cup holder. First off, I'm SO glad they stopped the awkward sitting-on-an-ottoman massage that I complained about in my last review! This time I spent all my time in the recliner. Sarah was my massage therapist's name, and she really got in there, working out my incredibly tough knots.. She also speaks English. I highly recommend her! They have more time/price options now. You can stop by for 10, 20, 30, 45, or more minutes. I like these alternative price points because I can stop by more frequently to work out these insistent knots, preventing them from becoming worse problems. The chair massage is cheaper than the private room massage, and is perfect if you... 1. Hate getting naked outside of your house 2. Dislike getting all greased up 3. Don't mind a bit of noise and chatter (you're in a shared room next to the front door) The over-the-clothes massage is not quite as good as an oily-skin massage because the clothes will get in the way of smoothing out certain areas. But it's pretty darn close, and good enough for me. It didn't get in the way of her jamming her elbow into my shoulder blades and kneading the little monsters out. I'll be coming more frequently now, that's for sure! Although English is not their first language (some only know a few words), the the upside is they won't chit-chat with you. One of my biggest peeves while getting a massage is when they want to converse with you. No thanks. I want to be antisocial while getting limber. read more

Was on my way to Costco to grab a nice bottle of something for a holiday party this evening and didn't feel great. Low energy and stuffy head. So I figured why not get an invigorating massage. Looked online for something close by and Called Oceana. It was tough to understand but realized they said 1 hour massage with a free table shower was $50. I asked if they could help my sinus and they didn't understand but figured I'd ask during the massage. I had Ella (not sure if spelled correctly) but she was excellent. Private room, heater was on clean linens, ok. Asked for firm pressure and they had rails on the ceiling. Great pressure to start, then some oil, then she took off her shoes and with great technique and skill walked on my back. I was very tight but she worked out several knots then on the flip asked if I wanted face massage. The pressure points opened up my sinus and the entire massage was fantastic. The massage was about 45 - 50 min since I opted for the table shower which was about 10 min. Interesting experience. It's a shower room with a table with towels. You lie face down and they dump buckets of hot water on you. Then scrub you down. I would do it again. All in all when I left I felt 100% better than when I went in. I was invigorated and ready for my evening. I will repeat. read more

I just did a 20 minute shoulder/back/neck massage and I am finally rid of my 2 month long painful stiff neck. I should have done this a long time ago. I was sore alittle the next day after the massage, but was extremely happy by the 2nd day my stiff neck was gone. I don't even know where to start. Walked into the room and laid my head down to find a poster of half naked women starting back at me. The lady who gave me a massage then came in wearing a tight black dress with the loudest heels (which is the only thing I heard clonking around my table the whole entire time as well as the other staff members talking in the other room very loudly) She then kept talking small talk with me during the massage making comments about how great of shape I'm in and asking how often I go to the gym. On top of all of this the massage was AWFUL!!! I told her I needed her to get the knots out of my shoulder blades more than anything and she literally didn't even touch them. Worst massage I've ever had, and I'm a massage therapist, so I've had a lot. They spoke almost no English, except to say "you pay now" before the massage, and to badger me about a tip afterwards. My massage therapist seemed to not understand me when I asked her to use lighter pressure. Seriously painful massage. Even if she couldn't understand English, she should still pick up on body language like squirming, not to mention that I kept saying "ow". I had just gotten back from Europe where I walked ALOT and my feet were in pain. For 60 minutes I had a wonderful reflexology type foot massage. For $25 it was such a great deal. The foot massage at Oceana is more like an overall body/face massage (with clothes on) in a fully reclining chair with emphasis on your feet. For $24.99/hour, it's a very affordable treat. They also do full body massages in private rooms, where as the foot massage area has about 4 or 5 chairs in one open room. I've been to several of these foot massage places and I think this is the best one so far. The people there are really nice, I've had Tall and Michelle and both put in a lot of effort and were pretty quiet while at other places there's constant talking. My experience was very disappointing and, for the first time in my life, I literally got up half way through a massage and walked out. The masseur seemed very inexperienced and did not understand any of my requests. She slathered me with so much oil that I felt uncomfortable and slimy. When I got up and clothed, a manager did approach me to find out what went wrong and asked if I would like to switch to another massage therapist. Based on first impressions.
