Fitted my smog check in right away. Very efficient and got right on with it. The building could do with a lick of paint but I'm here for the service not the aesthetic. The gentleman who helped me was so polite and kind - that is what prompted me to write a review. He showed me where all the leaves were blocking the air intake and cleaned them all out for me. I've been parking under that tree for years and no mechanic or oil change service person has ever informed me, or cleaned them out. The level of customer service was nothing less than awesome. I needed a smog check to renew my tags and they took me in same day. They were busy but checked in to make sure everyone waiting was ok. After making some calls (price and availability), I choose Ace Smog Center in Eagle Rock since they had a competitive price and was available. I was greeted and serviced by the owner's son who was very friendly and knowledgeable. I also ended up getting a oil change at the same time since the smog check service was pretty quick. I always thought the rule was pass or don't pay when it comes to smog tests. Not so much here. A family member referred this place, so I brought my car in. It didn't pass the smog test, and I was surprised when I was handed a bill for $70. The annoying thing about newer cars is that if they are not driven, they will fail a smog test so you have to drive 100 miles in order to pass. I drove my car for 100 miles and brought it back. Thankfully, it passed but I was charged another $40. Needless to say, next time I'm going somewhere else. read more

I am so lucky I came here. I first got a smog check and was told about my break pads were getting really bad. They not only fixed my break pads and adjusted my rear breaks but checked my tires and even fixed my bumper. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Smog check experience in California, especially LA, for me at least, has always been an unpleasant experience. This time, upon visiting Ace, that experience has changed. My regular place closed. I was in a pinch and tried this place. I scored! There was one other person ahead of me; but the two men who worked there were efficient and I got out quickly. They were also helpful, letting folks know that they could go to AAA in Glendale or a local supermarket kiosk to get their car registration completed. He had mentioned that he knows people on the personal level who can take care of anything I needed, ranging from body work, auto mechanics and even car rentals. It just so happened to be were of my friends were in need of a car rental so we called aaron, who then called a friend that worked at enterprise and was able to give us a rental at a discounted price.
