I would give 0 stars if that was an option. I booked a trip from home to the airport on 10/7/22 online and it was confirmed for 5:15 am. I received a phone call from the driver on 10/7 at 4 am asking if I was ready. He woke me up at 4 am and I told the driver I needed to get ready and the earliest for my 5:15 am pickup would be 5:00. He said OK and hung up. I called Ace back at 4:45 am and was told I canceled my pickup. I told him I Did not cancel. He told me "you must have filled out a survey and canceled". Again, I told him No I didn't cancel. I asked if they were going to pick me up as scheduled- 5:15 am and he said NO. I then received 2 emails showing my reservation was canceled. After not being able to get an Uber/Lyft from the airport due to the crowds, I ended up trying to get a taxi. My driver from Ace taxi was friendly and helped me with my bags, and we chatted the whole way back to my place! The car was clean and comfortable, and he let me know what the price for the ride would be before we left the airport. Though the price was a little more than Uber/Lyft normally charges, it was worth it because I didn't have to stand around and wait. I usually don't use taxis, but good to know that Ace taxi is an option! read more

I called 3 companies looking for a ride for 5 people to the airport. Ace Taxi arranged for a minivan. The driver arrived a few minutes late in a vehicle that could only seat 4 of us with seatbelts. So we buckled in 3 children in the back and I (grandmother!) squeezed in and sat on my side for the 40 min ride. Very uncomfortable. The driver was apologetic but made no effort to talk to his company for any resolution or apology. I called the manager the next day and left a vm. No call back. Used the website to book a van to and from the airport for my family of 7 plus baggage. The trip to the airport was at 5:30am, and the driver arrived early, backed in the driveway and handled everything. Give him 5-stars! Return at the airport was worst experience ever! Send a mini-van that couldn't accommodate all of us and baggage. The driver could have cared less. Told us they "had a new system, and the dispatcher screwed up". So? Couldn't locate a second vehicle, and couldn't take some of us (we live 12-minutes from the airport) and return for the rest (would charge us two trips). He did offer to return to base and get the van - but we'd need to wait another 45-minutes. Finally cancelled and took two Lyft rides. Ace was non-responsive for my refund request for their foul-up and inconvenience. POOR SERVICE. Would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND. They don't care. read more

I booked with Ace Taxi a few days early for a ride to the airport. Online, the price was quoted at $61.60. The day before the trip, I get a call from Ace Taxi saying they are sorry that the prices online have not been updated and that the actual price for the service will be $88.90. That is a 44% increase. That isn't an oversite. That's the result of management that does not care about their customers. They falsely advertise the price for their service and expect people to just accept the dramatic change shortly before providing the service. If I could give negative stars like any dishonest company actually deserves, I would. I cannot give negative stars so I'll stick with giving 1 star. They never showed up to pick me up after my doctor appointment. Worse yet, they never called with updates or to explain why they did not show up. SUPER SKETCHY business! If I could give 0 stars, I would. Driver was friendly, but of course, was overcharging me, so why wouldn't he be friendly? I got in at CLE airport, as the hotel's phone lines were down & couldn't reach them for my (free) shuttle. Asked the driver if he would be doing mileage rate or flat fee. He stated - mileage, yet never turned on his meter. A minute into the drive to the hotel (3 miles away!), i asked why his meter was not running & he THEN said, " Oh, it's a flat rate!" I said, "Oh really, you just stated it was by mileage since it is only 3 miles!" He said, "NO, we do flat rate & it's $20.- !! I said, "It states on the sign at the airport, right by the Taxi stand inside, that 0-5 miles is $15." He told me, "no, it will be $20." I then said, "well, I will not be paying you a tip for a 3mi./$20. ride & i will call your company today or tom'w & let your mgmt. know about this! This is very unethical & not right that you lied to me!" Called ACE Taxi & the dispatcher said ride should have been no more than $10 for a 3 mi ride. I kindly asked for a mgr./owner to call me back. Never heard from them; got a reply from my Square receipt after complaining & said they are sorry driver was "not careful." I said, "he lied & overcharged me, he was unethical & I expect a partial refund." Ghosted me. He wrote back again & said it will not happen again! Too late; Will never use them again. Super sketchy. Three days prior to departure I booked a taxi to the airport for an arrival time of 4:15am. The price quoted was $40.04. Overnight into the morning of my departure, the price was increased to $51.91 with zero notification or explanation of the price increase. I ended up cancelling and taking an Uber instead. Used their website to schedule a pick-up at 4:20 a.m. on a Sun morning. Got a text to notify me that my driver was on his way. Driver was on time and very polite. Helped us put our heavy bags in the trunk. We decided to use Ace Taxi again on our way back from our trip. Same great experience. Driver was very friendly and it was such a pleasure after a long trip to have someone pleasant welcoming us back home. Uber cancelled my trip due to no cars available... to me that means all of the Uber drivers were still in bed and didn't have their phones turned on in order to receive the work. I Made reservation a week ago for pickup @4:15am today. I even called them last night to confirm, they stated that the driver will call me as he gets close. I received a few SMS msgs that he is on the way. Checked status @4:23 - cab is waiting (no phone call). Got outside - it wasn't there. I called dispatch, operator stayed he can't find me and he is at the circle ? We have no circles in our complex. He transferred me to the supervisor, he had a different story - they called me twice with no answer, which is BS. He said he can get him back. A few minutes later received SMS that another car is on its way ( different # ). Called dispatch - its 7 miles away, no ETA. Driver calls 5 mins later to tell me that they will be there in 20 minutes, which would make them 50 minutes late! I told him to cancel reservation. I called for a taxi to take me from downtown to the airport (in Cleveland). I live downtown and typically walk to Tower City and take the rapid. But on this trip I had a larger piece of luggage and didn't want the hassle of manuvering the rapid with it. I called for a taxi at 7:40 a.m. and they arrived within 5 minutes. Plus they sent me a text message as soon as the taxi pulled in front of my building. The gentleman driving the taxi was pleasant, sociable, and very professional. I was a little hesitant because I had taken a taxi the week before and that driver was rude and seemed high... yes intoxicated or stoned (not the same company). NOT dependable if you need a taxi to make your appointment on time. I scheduled a taxi for my wife to the airport days in advance. I got the confirmation email and text. That time came and went. No taxi. I called the cab company and they were very abrupt, no apology, but did send another cab immediately. At least he showed up, about 30 min after the original reservation time. He then proceeds to tells my wife that the drivers are independent operators, that they DO NOT HAVE TO accept the reservation that Ace's Taxi assigns to them if they don't want it (because they were probably trolling for a higher fare downtown or somewhere else; or maybe your address isn't near his home; etc). This guy tells my wife that he came out of the goodness of his heart to help her out. I kid you not, those were his words. If she wasn't at risk of missing her flight, I would have sent the guy away and called another company. Ace's Taxi management: this is no way to do business. You must hold your drivers responsible to show up for reservations on time. read more

Do NOT use this taxi service. I made 2 reservations online the day before I needed a cab. 15 minutes before the 1st scheduled pick up the driver calls me to tell me he his 15-20 minutes away and that there is a 10 surcharge for leaving the county. he asked if I was aware of this, which I told him I was not. No effort to explain or waive the fee. the 2nd pickup was for 11:45pm that night. i received 3 texts from ace taxi. the first 2 texts stated that cab 2632 was on the way to pick me up. at 12:05 am i got the 3rd text stating cab 2250 was on the way. at 12:10am i received a call from the driver stating he was another 45 minutes away. i was very upset at this point since i and 3 other guests were waiting in a deserted parking lot in the dark for a cab. he transfered me to the dispatcher who proceeded to tell me that since i didnt answer the phone when they called it was my fault the taxi was not there. I explained that the only call i received from ace taxi was at 12:20am when I was already on the phone with a dispatcher. there was no effort to explain the situation or remedy the problem. there was no accountability or customer service. there was no supervisor available to speak with. Please do not use this taxi service and tell anyone who may be thinking of using them to not do it. It is not worth the aggravation or frustration. This taxi company not only ruined my night, but the night of 3 other people who also came with and the 2 people that had to come pick us up. read more

While the cab was only a bit late and the driver fairly polite, we were amazed that he was speeding while fiddling with his GPS, his taxi meter and... playing online poker on his laptop that was on the passenger seat. Shockingly bad--and consistently so. I once overheard someone saying she had been trying to get home from the hospital for several hours using Ace Taxi: she kept calling, they kept saying a cab was coming... no cab ever came. I remembered the name to avoid--but Ace must operate under multiple names, or take over the phone numbers of recently-closed competitors, or something: I tried several cab companies and got Ace every time. I have a very hard time finding a non-Ace taxi in Cleveland. Well, I've tried 3 Ace rides now. Drivers and dispatchers were friendly (75% of the time) and the cabs had 4 wheels and window glass. But there are three problems: 1. They may or may not ever arrive. As near as I can tell, when you call they'll dispatch a cab in theory--and you will get a text message that the cab is on its way to you. But in practice, even after that text, if that driver finds someone else to pick up (or knows of an area near them that's promising?), they just do that instead, and never notify you nor have a second cab sent. And no other cab gets sent in its place--unless you call a second time and order a second cab, which may also never show up. So I missed an emergency medical appointment. I told them that's what it was; made no difference. 2. The drivers often lie (the dispatcher even explained this to me) about taking credit cards. Some cabs take cards and some don't--but even the ones that do, the driver will often lie and say it's broken. I had one take my credit card and swipe it on his personal phone instead of the cab's meter. Another time the driver gave me a hard time about paying by card, like it was a personal insult to him. You just cannot trust what will happen. I ALWAYS told the dispatcher that credit card payment was a must--but that didn't mean a thing. The dispatcher lies to you and says they'll inform the cab that it's a credit card customer, but they clearly don't or the driver wouldn't be so shocked every time. 3. They consistently give a false low price on the phone, and then charge you MUCH more (neighborhood of 40% more) once the ride is done. That's with an accurate address given, and the driver taking a good and logical route; so their estimates shouldn't be off by that much. And if they were simpy making "mistakes," why is the error always in the direction of a bait-and-switch? I even had one driver sit there, after we were already at the destination, as the meter kept rising--taking his time dealing with my card, and making a little more money by going slow. I didn't know a cab's meter could keep rising while the cab sits still and the job has been concluded. I guess it can. So don't use Ace--and if you call what you think is another company, ask if they are Ace! read more

Watch out. They pretend the credit card machine didn't take your card so when you pay cash your card gets charged days later. I called them 5 times to try and get the money back they STOLE from me and never received a call back---- called the "manager" many times and never picked up. Called this taxi company from an emergency room in lorain county. Was quoted a price over the phone from the dispatcher. After waiting for about 1/2 hour, I received a phone text that they were adding an additional 35.00 to my price because they were coming from Cuyahoga county to Lorain county. Why wouldn't the dispatcher have quoted me that price over the phone, when she had the address of where I was being picked up. Hence, I cancelled the taxi. Not an upfront company. Not fair to the customer. I will never use or recommend this taxi service. read more

I scheduled a taxi to go from North Olmsted to the airport. Set it up via their app, which they recommend when you call. I called about ten minutes before scheduled pick up to confirm. They sent the cab to a different address in a different city. They redispactched a different cab saying it would be 10 or 15 minutes. About 12 minutes later, the driver called to say that she was "stopping for gas" and would be here in about 13 minutes. She arrived with a trainee about 25 minutes late. Reading some other reviews, I think I was actually lucky that they were only 25 minutes late. Won't be using Ace Taxi again! read more

Found these guys via a Google search for "Cleveland Taxi" and they turned out to be fairly efficient and responsive. I used them over the course of a couple of days shuttling back and forth from my hotel in Beachwood to our company offices in Highland Hills. If you can schedule ahead, do so. The wait can be anywhere from 15-45 minutes though -- allow yourself extra time on snowy, stormy days. Also - make sure to pick up your calls once you've gotten off the phone with the dispatcher. Chances are, the cab driver assigned is calling to confirm and if you don't pick up you're listed as a "no show" and abandoned. read more

I foolishly used another ShuttleService to arrange transportation to Hokpins Airport. When they canceled on me 5 hours prior to a scheduled pick up, I contacted Ace Taxi. I was concerned because I had a group of 8 with an early morning transport need on short notice. Not only did Ace come through with a vehicle on short notice, they came through with 2. The pricing was fair. The drivers were friendly, and most importantly, they were dependable. They are my first, and only call for my transportation needs from now on. Thank You! read more

Worst service EVER!!! Be aware everyone! I called a day earlier to request taxi service to take me and my family to the airport. I requested the taxi to be at my apartment at 7 o'clock in the morning. My plane left at 8:30 Am. The guy showed up 7:43 (I am not kidding). Then, he used the gps to take a route that took longer. As a result here I am now, missed my flight and I have to wait (with a newborn and a 4 year old child) for 5 hours. Instead of getting a direct flight now I have to do another stop and wait there another 3 hours. As you see my day is totally ruined because of ACE Taxi. Ace Taxi is terrible. The wait time varies. Sometimes I request a driver for a certain time and he shows up 15 minutes early (and still charges me for the time that he had to wait for me to come out). The longest wait has been 2 hours. I was late that day. Once the driver (supposedly) showed up to the location and sent that text thing they send but never called. We walked around my multi-building college campus looking for him for 5 minutes and then our reservation was cancelled and we waited another 30 minutes for a different driver. You arent told what kind of vehicle the driver will be in ahead of time. One time my mom got in a random car because she thought it was the taxi. Sometimes its a clearly marked van but sometimes its regular looking car. Sometimes I feel unsafe in the taxi because the driver is using the phone or brushing their hair or driving aggressively or over the speed limit and I swear they sometimes purposefully take longer routes or make wrong turns to drive up the cost of the fare. It seems sketchy that there's a screen thing in the car with a card swipe but sometimes the drivers have you swipe the card on their cellphone instead. One said to me "I don't want them getting my money" before he did it. My partner is so fed up with this taxi service that she's opening an account with a bank so she will have a debit card that's compatible with Uber. Uber allows you to review your driver, tells you what kind of car the driver is in as well as a picture of him or her and there's always ubers in the area so you shouldn't be waiting for 2 hours. read more

I had two incredibly bad experiences with Ace Taxi in the same day this past weekend. I requested a cab to go from Cleveland Heights downtown for an evening Tribe game and the dispatcher gave me an ETA of 20 minutes; however, 45 minutes later, the cab finally showed up. That same day, I requested a cab from downtown back to my place of residence around 3 am and the dispatcher informed me that a cab would be there shortly. Apparently, a cab arrived but never called me so I was unaware that it ever showed up. After much arguing with the dispatcher (they claimed that the driver called me), I finally got a cab at 5 am. I will say, the cab drivers have always been pleasant but there is an obvious lack of communication between the dispatchers and the drivers. Needless to say, I will never use this cab company in the future. read more

I am currently in an Ace taxi driving home from Cleveland Hopkins to Shaker Heights. I gave the driver directions to my home in Shaker and he refuses to follow my directions, taking me on back streets, causing delay, and not the most direct route. When he exited the highway traffic was not bad for this hour. I asked him nicely to please return to 480 and his response was "lady, I know how to get there". I am slow to anger but repeated requests to return to 480 were met with silence. When I called the cab company to complain their response was "he has to do what GPS tells him. The GPS wasn't even on! Ugh. I have had more bad experience than good! Trust me just take an Uber or Lyft. Uber requires a credit card and Lyft will take a prepaid debit card or credit card! Ace dispatch could care less and just tell you whatever to shut you up. The drivers are a hit or miss, most are nice some a creepy and some have a horrible attitude. At least with Uber/Lyft they give you an accurate estimates, you also get a pick of the driver so if you get any strange vibes you can go ahead and cancel it! Also you can literally see how far away the driver is, as opposed to Ace. Save yourself the headache, if you must take Ace Taxi I would recommend from a hotel/airport or sports event, when coming from or going to a place sun as those they respond with a little more urgency! read more
