The menu surprised me with their Asian inspiration, but I needed a snack, so we got the Korean BBQ bao buns and Shrimp Dumplings. The bao buns were very dry and stale, and the meat was a little tough.. The flavor was too sweet, but also extremely salty at the same time. The shrimp dumplings were so confusing- definitely not the typical dumplings you would think of. They were mini bite-sized shrimps covered with some kind of dry breading and hardly any seasoning.. The mango dipping sauce didn't help. The fries were the only decent thing to eat, but average. On these two dishes alone, I'd give 1 star, I was so disappointed!! I had been here once before, but this was a private company function so it wasn't as crowded or noisy as before. The bartenders were friendly and helpful, they had a nice selection of wine and beer (well, maybe too many IPAs, no seasonal Oktoberfests, but the Riesling was good) and the food was good. It was catered with mini tacos, crudite, pizza, cheese sticks, plain cheese, sliders, and cookies/brownies for dessert! We had plenty leftover. The lower-level space itself had 20 (30?) ping pong tables. There were tables a few feet from them and some tables way on the side. Corner tables are a good idea for those who want quiet. I worried that while trying to eat a ball would land in my food, but it didn't! They were very quick to go around with a net to pick up balls. There were 'coaches' there with pep and enthusiasm to tell us the rules and keep score. The reception was awful, even outside, but a 'private' room gave me a signal. I can't speak to the food or drinks but the atmosphere is great and the staff is so friendly. We spent $16 for 90 minutes of nonstop ping pong and it was worth every penny. They also have shuffleboard and beer pong, and you can add time for an additional fee, though 90 minutes was perfect for the two of us. The staff gave my husband a birthday card with coupons for our next visit. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture! We will definitely be back. read more

For our work party they set us up in teams of two for an actual tournament, and it was a good way to interact with co-workers. The light bites they had for us were pretty good, and bartenders prompt and nice. This place is decorated nicely with the arty paint can heart, and there are plenty of spaces to lounge. I'd been wanting to come here since it first opened, so when our department scheduled their holiday party for here, I was excited. Maybe I hyped it up too much, but it was a letdown. We had a downstairs table/seating area reserved for two hours with food and drinks. It was fun, but lots of little things added up to a less than ideal experience. The service started off okay, but got worse as the night went on. We had a server coming around, and she had a trainee shadowing here. They were very attentive at first, but at the night went on we had to flag/chase her down just to get drink refills. Part of our package was a dessert, that she neglected to bring out and we had to ask her to bring it out, which she finally did after our reservation time had officially ended. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. They have pizzas (they do load up the toppings), and some bacon-wrapped dates and mini tacos, etc. The setup was kind of awkward, though, as they lay out the food on the shelving on either side of the ping pong table. On multiple occasions ping pong balls ended up bouncing/landing in the food. Seems that having food off to the side would've prevented that. As our reservation time was winding down, we asked if we'd be able to linger a bit, to which our server snarkily replied they had another party coming in about half an hour after our time ended. Okay, that's fine, we understand, but no need to be rude (and remember, she neglected to bring our dessert out on time, which is why we were asking for the extra time so we could finish). The ping pong was fun too, but might've benefited from a slightly different setup. Maybe it's because none of us were star ping pong players, but we found ourselves chasing ping pong balls across the floor a lot, which got a bit old (as well as the ping pong balls going in the food). We both opted for kettle one, but couldn't taste the booze in either of our cocktails so we ended up leaving before finishing. I've been here 3 times and I've always been impressed with the friendly service, great atmosphere, and food and drinks. The first visit was due to a coupon through Chicago Loop Alliance's ACTIVATE, giving my boyfriend and I both a beer, a pizza to share, and 1 hour of ping pong for $10 on a quiet Wednesday evening. I fell in love with the place immediately. The second visit I booked 2 tables for 2 hours and a Games Guru for a birthday party of 10 people on a Friday evening 4 months later. No drink or food packages due to the small number, but the Games Guru experience was phenomenal and I highly recommend. This third visit I was a guest of a university alumni event that booked the private blacklight room (but did not use the blacklights) for about 30-40 people on a Thursday evening. In addition to having 3 table tennis tables for our party, they provided a food and drink package that was amazing: wine, beer, and more than we could eat of food (artisan cheese plate with dried fruits and nuts, fried coconut shrimp, mini tacos, chicken skewers, several vegetarian and meat pizzas, and many desserts - all delicious). It's like hyper cardio for me - ping pong + dancing The décor is a blend of artsy with a British/Euro theme? It's difficult to put a finger on it, but I like it. My coworkers and I came for their $7 Friday lunch specials 12-4pm. When we were seated, they didn't share their lunch specials. We had to ask for it. One of my coworkers and I shared the burger and the quinoa "taco pizza" flatbread. The burger was delicious! Not the best burger in Chicago but definitely up there on my favorites, especially for $7. The burger came with a side of fries or salad. We got the fries. Some other people ordered the kale salad and grilled chicken sandwich with a side. I would recommend calling ahead of time though . We had 8 people on one ping pong table and the waits too long. The table with the projector is pretty cool . Different ways of playing . We were looking for a fun hangout outside of your regular degular bar - this place has ping pong tables! It's a large space with up to 20 tables or so, and I was surprised to see it less filled on a Friday night. We were shown to a table pretty quickly. It's $22 for half an hour and $39 for a full hour. Went here with a few friends to celebrate a friend getting married. The concept was very enticing, an upscale bar and restaurant with ping pong. What didn't make sense was being removed from the establishment due to a manager's power trip. I was grabbed forcibly by the wrist while interacting with the bar tender. Turns out one of our group made the unforgivable sin of asking to sub in while within earshot of an employee. Rather than politely correcting us or perhaps returning the paddles to the front desk, it was decided that the the entire group must be immediately dispatched from the facility. I guess even watching friends play while enjoying your drink at the bar is an unforgivable offense when ping pong is involved. While we ultimately left peacefully we were immensely confused. Considering the place was nearly empty at 10:30 on a Friday they're hurting for business. Stay away. Stay far far far away. read more

Like I said we were there on a Tuesday so I was not expecting it to be too busy but I liked that it wasn't empty. It is in the heart of the city so we were bound to run into 9-5s. Natalie was our server and she suggested some delicious food ! Chef Alex was so sweet when our second table came food did come in late but he made sure to acknowledge that and the comp shrimp taco was amazing highly suggest. Actually all the food was delicious . Who doesn't love a drink happy hour !? The Elote dip does need to be creamier but still would order. Alex server and bartender also made sure drinks were flowing which we appreciated. Made a reservation for a weekday evening after purchasing a Groupon for an hour of ping pong. Street parking outside was super easy and after walking in, the place was pretty empty and I thought we probably didn't need a reservation. Come to find out, they were closing at 11 and there was no record of our reservation. I showed the hostess the emails between one of the sales coordinators and myself, and she seemed confused as to why he made us a reservation for 10:30 when they were closing at 11. This was super frustrating as we had come for a birthday and were told we would be able to play for only 20 minutes. The hostess allowed us to make a reservation for a future hour (I will update review if we have a better experience) and was very professional about the whole thing. She allowed us to play for free for the 20 minutes that were left. As soon as we got to our table, the waiter informed us it was last call so we quickly ordered a few drinks and got to playing. I followed up with the guy that made the reservation and was told he was forwarding my email to their management team- I haven't heard back from anyone. A friend turned me onto this place, and it's a great alternative to a lounge/club. I highly recommend this place if you have non-alcoholic friends in your party. They play great music, and have a reasonably priced full bar. There are about 15 ping pong tables to rent in 30 or 60 minute increments, plus you have beer pong tables. There were a handful of birthday parties the night I went. They also have a menu! I didn't order any food but a quick glance said they have pizza and typical bar food (fries, mac and cheese, etc) The best part? Complimentary coat and bag check at the entrance! I planned a party here for my co-workers for our Customer Care Week Celebration. Kat was fantastic with helping me plan all the details such as coordinating the drink package and ordering food. The party day arrived and the staff here were very quick to check everyone in, making sure everyone had a bracelet, and took us to our room. We were in the gallery, which was perfect for our party size. It's a room off the main room that has two ping pong tables, area for seating, and a bar area for food. When we went to AceBounce it had only been open for a week. It was July 4th weekend with lots of activities around the city. So, there were not too many customers. My daughter serves at the bar there and told us we were lucky, that it was a slow night. Since they opened they have been packed. We had a great time- there are multiple ping-pong tables around. For a small fee, you get time on one of the table. I have not played ping pong since I was a kid. It took a while to get my sea legs back. After a few glasses of Bourbon either the ping pong got easier, or I didn't notice when I hit the ball into another patron. They have a small restaurant in the back which had just closed when we arrived. They have a bar menu we ordered from. I had a burger - which was really outstanding. They serve thin cut fries with the burger - crisp, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was truly impressed. Ping pong bars may be the new thing. If not, they will be for me. read more

It's basically a bunch of ping pong tables, a bar with warmed appetizers and poorly trained bar staff. A bit more was expected given that this place is in the center of a city where you have to serve at least decent food in a consistent manner. I believe we had close to 30 ppl & it was a good enough space to accommodate & seemed like everyone that wanted to play, got to play. There was definitely a fun and energetic vibe as it was packed full on a Friday evening with people eating and drinking and playing ping pong. We were lucky to have one of the private rooms - perfect for our 40+ guests - with its own bar, some banquettes and three ping pong tables.
