Brought here by a friend as it been so long since I've been to Chicago. Loved that they had several floors with different themes. This is a great bar for a girls night out. It has everything. It has a chill lounge on the rooftop floor. It has a hopping 70s themed dance floor that lights up. Fun for pics and dancing the night away. It also has on one of the lower floors a cocktail bar. I really loved the cocktail bar. The drinks were on the more expensive side but they were carefully curated and very unique. We got martinis that had been created by a staff member that happened to be there that night and he made them for us. This is one of the less pretentious places that I have been too in river north. Long story short: This place is anti-black. Yes, black people work there and are let in but the policies are leaning towards very racist (i.e. No hats, no hoodies). And this no hats no hoodies policy is not mentioned on the website. I get it's "upscale" attire but all hats nor hooded jackets are "low class". Such wasted potential. It's a very nice rooftop and in a great area, but the F&B is terrible. The espresso martini was so bad that I left it after just two sips. The other cocktails were 80% ice, 15% sugar/soda and a bit of cucumber or watermelon flavoring. The arancini balls were also missing the "cacio e pepe" flavors - they were basically round balls of mozzarella sticks. No pepper, no flavors. Fries are fries - they came with a good aioli. The chicken bites are literally just regular halved tenders. No real flavor to them honestly but it came with buffalo sauce and honey mustard. I should've ordered the arancini knowing it's great but $3 for 1 ball was just interesting but after looking at the regular menu price it was fair. I celebrated my birthday there recently and couldn't have had a better ending to the night. Our bartender, Cristobal, was amazing. He was patient and makes one of the best French 75s I've had. We visited the Whiskey Bar on the first floor of Celeste on August 15th and it was an absolute treat. Celeste feels like a hidden gem in River North with a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. We ordered two cocktails, the Oaxacan Old Fashioned and the Desert Mirage. Both were crafted with skill and balance by mixologists who clearly take pride in their work. Each drink had layers of flavor and was beautifully presented. For food we tried the steak tacos. They were filled with tender skirt steak, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, pickled onion, spicy aioli, and lime. Every bite was delicious and paired perfectly with our cocktails. The Whiskey Bar itself is elegant yet comfortable. We noticed the Deco Supper Club on the second floor and the lively Disco on the third floor. I was introduced to Celeste on a random Thursday while out with my girlfriends. I've been to Hubbard St countless times and never noticed the bar. It is sandwiched between other lively bars and across the street from the more popular bars so it is easy to miss. The manager, Omar, called us over and convinced us to check out the bar. I was in complete shock that Celeste has existed this long and I had never visited prior to 2024. I do need to shout out Omar because he is the man! He is always friendly whenever you see him even if it is a busy night. Every staff member I have come across has been friendly. The bartenders are top notch. I haven't had a bad drink in the handful of times I've been to Celeste. The bar is broken into several floors that cater to different vibes. The first level has a DJ that played afro beats and hip hop, they had multiple DJs throughout my visit. It is busy and the bar is bustling on the first floor. They have several booths for people that want to order food and the bar is long with ample stools. I have also observed a few tables that people that order bottle service are seated. There is enough space for dancing even with how many people flow in and out of the space. The second floor is a lounge that has more mellow music. They have more booths and tables for groups that want a slower vibe. The bar is a little smaller so they have fewer stools than upstairs but this is the level you would visit if you want to actually have a conversation. It feel like a cocktail lounge sandwiched in-between all of the chaos. The third floor is a disco, you read that right! My jaw dropped the first time I came across this floor. It is probably the wildest and loudest floor. The floors light up like a disco ball and the music is all fast paced. The music is very diverse and you will more likely hear a good mix of throwback songs and some popular pop songs. I love that they have a space that is purely dancing. I ended up on this floor and after a few minutes my group already met a new friend. The disco floor brings me back to the days of dancing to the point that you left the club looking like you went to the gym! The final level is the rooftop. This is where you will find majority of the bottle service table. They still give ample room to make it to the bar but you are really only coming up here for fresh air because the music is randomly techno. I think for something like a rooftop it should be more top 40s because it is a neutral vibe. I probably spend the least amount of time on the rooftop because the music is meh. I look forward to visiting on a cooler night to at least enjoy the cooldown! I have visited Celeste mostly on Thursdays because it is busy but not Friday busy. I went on one Friday and the line was massive and the bar was packed. I was still able to secure a seat at the bar but it is definitely a different vibe. Thursdays you're able to chat a lot more with random people at the bar because Friday is just too packed and mostly tourist visiting the city. I highly recommend visiting Celeste. If you are looking for a slower night come on Wednesday or Thursday. A bonus is that they close around 4am! read more

I recently went on a St. Patrick's Day bar crawl with my friends and one of the stops was Celeste. Expect a long queue every time you visit but The lines were pretty fast moving.I've been there a few times before, and it's always been super busy. But this time, we started on the first floor for some food, ordered fries, and got a nice surprise of free green tea shots from our waitress, who was really helpful. The waitress was patient and nice and offered those shots because there was a mixup with our order of fries. Then we went up to the second floor, which is usually packed, but this time it wasn't too crowded. We danced for an hour and had a blast! My friends and I went to Celeste to see a DJ friend who was performing last night, but our first experience there was terrible. The place was extremely crowded, there was no air circulation, and it was impossible to move. At one point, I grabbed an ice cube from a bucket next to me because I was literally struggling to breathe. Then four security guards surrounded me, and one of them pushed me and started yelling at me, telling me to leave. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. I even took a photo right after the incident to show how chaotic and disrespectful the situation was. No one deserves to be treated like that. I always seem to end up at this nightclub unexpectedly. I have ended up here after going to other bars in the area and I have also ended up here after going to the Lion King musical. Sometimes you just need to dance. I've been coming here off and on for about 4 years and I hope they never go away. There is no cover (As of the time period of this review). This is always a plus. The age demographic makeup is very interesting. I would say that 60% of the people appear to be in their 20's and the other portion of people are mainly 30s-40s. The space always seems to be tightly packed with people. Be prepared to be standing very close to other people. The DJ always seems to do a great job. I prefer true 70s era music, so I like the nights where they primarily play songs from this time period. I did go once where they seemed to be mainly playing remixes of more recent songs, and I didn't like that as much. Drink prices aren't outrageous for a nightclub in River North. I recall most cocktails being $15 or under. I did get a cocktail in a disco ball once and that was a little bit more. If are up for a good night of dancing on a beautiful floor, Disco is a great option to consider. read more

This review is based off my 1st floor experience. The drinks and overall music/vibe were solid--I'd give that a B+. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing and significantly impacted our experience. Our server on the first floor, a woman with short dark poofy hair and an Eye of Horus tattoo on her lower right chest area, was unprofessional from the start. She placed glasses precariously on the edge of the table, and when we tried to help distribute them to our group, she abruptly told us not to touch them. Her tone and demeanor throughout the night were cold and dismissive, making us feel like a burden rather than valued guests. Despite our party of four being polite and low-maintenance, her attitude remained the same. When it came time to pay, we noticed a 15% gratuity had already been added--something she did not mention to us at any point, which felt sneaky, especially given the level of service provided. I WANT to give this place a 5 star review. The disco floor is awesome and the vibes are good. However - I got to Celeste with friends early in the night. When we migrated from the top floor to the disco floor, left my cross-body bag with my prescription sunglasses behind. Later on there were bouncers blocking access to the top floor so I couldn't go up and look for it. I have tried many times to contact lost & found - calling, emailing, going through the reservation thing on the website - and have had complete radio silence on every attempt. Not letting me look for the bag and also being completely unable to reach them has forced me to leave this review. Instead of saying we don't allow hats to be worn inside the building they made me get out of line because I was wearing my Baylor baseball hat.
