Where should I start with these NOT so wonderful People. CROOKS What they are. His yardman is clearly on drugs. A simple Tow from Albermare Country PD on a traffic stop let me stress simple as there was no accident no clean up just pulled on tow truck. Resulted into having to pay this man $600 for less then 48hours on his lot. Who Refused all the payment types except for cash. violating Code of Virginia 46.2-118 Illegally refused to take any payment method but cash violating Code of Virginia 46.2-1215, taking into consideration the fair market value for a tow. When he was contacted less 8 hours after having the car he had Originally said it was gonna cost $700 and 55 dollars a day storage fee. Refused to provide the paperwork that there was a 30 day hold on the car which is illegal. Then after going to the police department and them not being able to confirm the 30 day hold, because glitch in the system we contacted him back for him to tell us that Albemarle County PD has contacted him by email and put a 90 day hold on the car. Called his bullshit on that because there is no such thing as a 90 day hold. Contacted him after Judge Release the car from impoundment and he Refused to give an itemized receipt. He doesn't do that. Told him that he had to write out some type of hand written receipt which he did goes into explain how he was giving me a deal that he technically should be charging more money and he was going to knock $100 off. At the time the bill was at $655 on the phone. But he should be charging more he said. Get to the lot and he was feeling generous and decided to knock off $55 and only charge 600. We are in the middle of a pandemic and this man not only in the middle of this pandemic but has been doing this for a very long time ripping people off and people are allowing him to get by with it. He charge a $75 dollar Storage fee in the first 24 hours. The law states that he cannot charge a storage fee for the first 24 hours violating Code of Virginia  46.2-1233, no other fees or charges shall be imposed during the first 24-hour period. FYI one minute his yardman told us he did not work there then he said he was Top security. Bahaha who clearly did not know how to start a car. Asked how to start it Asked where the E break was and then asked how he turned it off. read more

My car broke down on a rural winding country road late last night. I just barely got it off the road before it completely died. I called AAA, long story short AAA wouldn't give me a ride home, same location I wanted my car to go to, due to Covid. I told them I had a mask, and no one to call to come pick me up. AAA was willing to leave a 60 year old disabled woman alone in the pitch of night in a very isolated area. After arguing w/Frank, who kept harping about the pandemic, I asked for his supervisor and she told me she would try to find another towing service that didn't have the fear of Covid. I waited, and waited, and waited, praying for her return call, by now it was really late. I was beginning to wonder if I would be sleeping in my car, no way I could have walked home. Around the bend and over the rise comes a tow truck, asked if I needed a tow. So he gets my car hooked up, drives me and my car home, along w/my dog. I go to get my AAA card to do the paperwork, and Mr. Morris says "no charge". He was not w/AAA! He was going home from work, saw my car stranded, asked if I needed a tow, got us safely home, and didn't charge a penny! Seriously an Angel that rescued me from a horrible, scary, and dangerous situation out of the kindness of his heart. Then today I called Aces, as a paying customer, about getting a tow to my mechanic, the phone was answered immediately and he sent the truck out right away. Mr. Morris and his staff were extremely professional, polite, and kind. I was so stressed and upset not only over my car breaking down, but how nasty AAA was to me. If it was up to AAA I would still be sitting on the side of the road dead or worse. Aces Towing lifted my spirits so much, I will always be grateful, and will happily share my story w/people to recommend them to others. I see some bad reviews on here but I can only speak from my experience. Jamie was called by my insurance after 10 other services refused to come to greene county to get my vehicle. He called me to verify that I was ok since it had been 3 hours since my service call went out. He verified where my vehicle was and were it was going. He left nothing to the automated system and chose to verify everything which I was grateful for. When he arrived, it was a 30 second offload (cause he has a very efficient truck setup) and even offered to push my vehicle where I wanted it because the tow truck would not fit in my driveway. After this, instead of leaving and heading home, he actually took the time to go over a few things that might be wrong since he owned the same vehicle and was familiar with its quirks. He did not ask for a tip or hint at such a desire. I asked if there was anyway I could help because I wanted to. So I write this review hoping that the other bad ones I see are either fabrications or extrapolations of bad scenarios. Thank you Jamie. read more

Clearly these guys are mentally unstable. Jamie Morris is 48 years old. Old enough to know better, theoretically. William Morris Jr. is 36 years old. Apparently he doesn't understand the definition of "trespassing" which leads one to believe he dropped out of school in 2nd grade. Dumb ass actually thought he could outrun the cops. His daddy isn't much smarter as he tried to obstruct the deputies from doing their jobs. Then you have their punk buddy, Jamie Ragland age 27 who decides to grab a cop around the neck and throw him to the ground. Clearly his shoe size is higher than his IQ. My car had broken down on the side of 250 this morning on my way to work. ACPD called a towing company for me & it was ACE's that they called. I had never heard of this towing company before even though ive been in Charlottesville my whole life. Jamie is the guy who came & towed my car. He had to tow it from Shadwell to Louisa. Jamie was very kind, helpful, patient, & eased my level of anger that I had from my morning starting off rough. He made me feel better, I can honestly say the first tow driver I ever came across who was not rude or nasty. Jamie was very helpful & b/c of him for future reference I will use ACE's towing. Terrible, belligerent, criminal staff. If you find them towing your car, worry not, for $100 on the spot they will let it go (The city of Charlottesville has a local ordinance section 15-426 and 15-435 that specifically outline the maximum fee allowed to charge for a drop, that is once the car is on a tow truck but before they have left the private party, should exceed no greater than 50 dollars). No doubt, they are pocketing a great chunk of change, considering the above, and the fact they exclusively take cash and will deny you a receipt upon asking. Disgusting, dishonest, organization. Owner threatened to slap me next time he sees me. Crap company, over priced, dumb rednecks that have no clue what they are doing cant even back up a truck without someone guiding them back. VA Tow Companies are ran by the ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE. Call them at +1 804-786-2071 or file a complaint online. In addition file civil lawsuits (filing fee not to exceed $100) at your local General District Court (Warrant in Detinue) and/or go to the magistrate and file criminal charges for petit or grand larceny (depends on amount). STOP allowing these tow companies to get by with breaking the law. They have strict codes and laws they're REQUIRED to follow & if they do not, MAKE THEM PAY! Hope this helps... read more

With a flat tire and a moving day at the same time I was in a very frustrating bind. A friend recommended Aces Towing so I gave them a call. They answered my call right away, took care of everything over the phone, and were at the location of my car was within 5 mins of getting off the phone scheduling the tow. Illegally towed vehicles on private property. They were contracted to tow vehicles without proper permits on private property and in the process knowingly towed many vehicles that were permitted and not authorized by the property owner to pick up. Theft at its finest. The vehicle was said to be returned shortly but hours later has still not been returned. The disregard for rightful property and their failure to honor their own promises exemplify a shocking level of unprofessionalism. read more

I've recommended Jamie regularly since meeting him in 2014, and to my knowledge, everyone has been happy with their service. I have no idea why this place has such negative reviews, but they really helped my family and I out. We had a blown out tire in the middle of the night halfway through a 5 hour drive home and they towed us to their garage and found us a tire that would get us home. Otherwise we would have had to get a hotel room and a cab, which none of us had the money for. We made it home safe and sound thanks to them. read more

These two man came out to help me when I locked my keys in my care and were 100% respectful and so sweet. They unlocked my car even though it was a difficult one, and after they got me in they even took the time to explain why it was considered a difficult unlock. Actually criminal business. I have the owner recording admitting to several violations of city and state regulations. When I went with the owner of a car (which he basically stole) to ask about an explanation for why all charges were double what is legally allowed, his response was to take his shirt off and tell us he was going to put his hands on us if we didn't leave. read more

We broke down and these guys came at once to jump our van. It would not take the jump. They figured out it was our starter. They could not have been nicer about everything. Aces Towing came out to get my truck after an accident on a busy road. They were polite and very knowledgeable in how to tow my truck properly due to its multiple security features. They took the time to set the truck up with dollies and move it securely and to any location I desired. I would highly recommend them as a cost effective business for any towing needs. read more

These guys were great to work with. No one ever wants to be in an accident but they were really helpful when it happened. They picked us up at the scene and gave us a ride off to meet my husband. The next day they helped us clean out the car so insurance could come get it. They even helped remove our kayak racks. 100% recommend if you need a tow. read more
