This is very specific because it was so upsetting On the Paris and the heart of Normandy I had an incredibly difficult experience with the tour guide. The very first night at our orientation she stressed and was so adamant about absolutely not using ATM's on the outside of a place. She emphasized that we should wait until the bank or post office was open or risk the possibility of losing our ATM card. Since I travel to Paris once a year and usually don't have the need for very much cash I agreed this was probably a good idea. So when we were in a small town and told to go the next morning to the market to buy food for our lunch, I didn't have enough cash. And at that point every place to get it was closed. I expressed surprise that it was needed since every vendor at the Bastille market in Paris takes cards and I was berated at not knowing the difference between the customs in a small town vs a big city. A very nice person on our tour loaned me 20 euros which I repaid the next day. But,after I paid a vendor there for cheese, a local used a credit card so I guess she was wrong about that). Fine I didn't think it was a big deal. A day or 2 later as we approached a gorgeous chateau I jokingly asked if there was an elevator ( it had been a long day of walking). 2 other people made the same joke.We all thought it was funny. (Seriously, I know there are no elevators in a chateau) That evening as we were all going to our rooms she asked if she could speak with me. . She asked repeatedly if I was having a good time and I said it's been great. She told me she had reported my comments to the office (apparently about my not having cash for the local market & maybe my joke about the elevator? Really, this was not being a grouch, just following her instructions not to use cash machines outside of closed places she gave me a very strong impression I was going to be asked to leave the trip. She emphasized more than once how much money I was paying for the trip, how expensive it was,( which I found insulting especially since she didn't know who was paying for it or my financial status) ). she was reprimanding me as if I was a bad child. It was demeaning and i was in tears in my room that night. One other thing that I might not have brought up if this rest hadn't happened- in Paris there was a visit to the Louvre which I have been fortunate enough to visit many times over the decades and didn't feel the need to go again but I mentioned to her that I wanted to see a specific exhibit so as long as the Louvre was included in the tour I would go and break away towards the end of our guided tour (our guide was great) and go to it. When I was saying goodbye to the guide and mentioned it to him, he told me that I would have to buy a new ticket for it since we had been admitted on a group pass. I looked at her when he said that and she just shrugged. Did she not know this, or she did and didn't mention it. I also asked her why other charming wonderful museums aren't part of the trip instead of the Louvre which unfortunately is overcrowded and can be really hot. She pleaded with me to make a suggestion to the office , saying the guides hated going there but when they suggest changing it, they're not listened to. I'm disappointed that if she reported whatever she thought was unacceptable behavior on my part , that no one at RS's cared about reaching out to me. Anyway Normandy was wonderful and heartbreaking and amazing and a highlight of my trip. Her demeaning comments to me were really unkind and unnecessary. When I mentioned what she said to a couple of people they were shocked and thought it completely inappropriate. To sum up, large parts of the itinerary were wonderful, the hotels in Paris were good but not in neighborhoods I would have chosen ( Montmartre is a nice place to spend 1 day but no one wanted to be there- inconvenient to come back late afternoon to freshen up , then go out again so we just stayed out all day, not returning until time to go to sleep) the other hotels were fine, nothing great, nothing special . Montmartre was packed, incredibly crowded even in the evening. The included meals were ok, nothing great anywhere, surprisingly for France.

It was my first time here and…read moreman, is there a lot of parking, but it makes sense given people will leave their car for trips! We were getting dropped off so I didn't look at the fees for parking your car. If you're taking the train to Vancouver it's best to arrive at least 15-20 min early so that they can check your passport if heading into Canada.  The station itself was pretty small with about 10 seats inside and a bench or two outside. There's a scale to weigh your bags but I'm not sure if they actually check. There are restrooms and a water fountain available at this location but I didn't use either. There's also vending machines for snacks as well.  I appreciated the fact that there was a screen inside letting us know when the trains were coming and if they were delayed.  The gentleman running the kiosk desk was kind to let us know where to wait to board the business class portion. With the business class ticket you get a $3 off coupon which is enough for a drink.  Overall a pleasant experience for a train stop. I haven't been to many but this one was fair.

There is also another scheduled run that starts in Portland Oregon, and again finishes in Vancouver. If you want to avoid going into Seattle, you have a few options on the way north, and Edmonds is a perfectly fine station. It's not fancy, it's a train station, that is on the way. The Station Master (guy running the place when we were there on a Monday morning) was friendly, knowledgeable, and took care of us. He made sure our documents were up to snuff, and confirmed what we used for booking. There are just a few seats inside, and a few decor pieces that highlight trains. There is NO food at this station, but just a short walk, there is a Top Pot Donut, if so you need coffee or some donuts. The only issue with getting on at Edmonds, is that most of the view seats nearest to the water are already taken by the Seattle passengers.. so that would be the only downer. Not the fault of the station. There is plenty of parking for someone to be dropped off, but there is no overnight parking here, so you will need to find maybe street parking of a pay lot, if that's your plan. Overall, great little station.

Our trip to discover my family in a small hamlet in Italy was magical. Mary was sensitive to our needs and chose an excellent driver who was prompt and courteous. When planning the trip, Mary listened to our needs and suggested 3-4 hotels at each place we stayed. This is the second time we've booked hotels and flights with them and we are thoroughly impressed!! Our first trip was to Las Vegas in December, and Sofia (the lovely, dedicated owner) managed to find a deal for the W in Vegas (a 5 star hotel) for three nights, a concert ticket, and flights to and back from Seattle for under a thousand dollars. Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne and free appetizers because this was their opening weekend. Apparently, we had gotten a beautiful (new) suite with all the amenities and two coupons for cocktails as well. Not what we were expecting for $150 a night! It was a phenomenal trip, which could not have been possible without Sofia's help. We checked back later, and found that our room would have normally gone for $300 a night! Our second trip was to Cancun in January, and she managed to score another 5 star hotel (all-inclusive, with drinks) for five nights, flights, and two day tours for under two thousand dollars. We had a private beach, beautiful room, and amazing views--but no outrageous price tag! When you book with Go Travel, you eliminate the stress of traveling and just get to enjoy the experience. We simply told Sofia our budget, goals for the trip, and preferences for flight seating and hotel style. Within an hour we had our tickets booked, itinerary ready, and a list of useful suggestions on where to go/eat during our stay. She even sent us reminders, made sure everything was ready upon arrival, and checked in on us during the trip to make sure we had no concerns. We saved at least 50% on travel costs, and a priceless amount of time and energy in booking with her! Never booking without Go Travel again!! Thank you!!!
