Highly recommend LeaderQuest - Dallas to anyone looking to not only advance their knowledge in IT, but thrive in a career. Thank you to the staff, and especially the individuals I have dealt with specifically - Robert, Ericka, James and of course Miranda! As an individual with limited formal training in information Technology, but a deep-seated desire to improve my talent, it has been a struggle for over a decade finding a organization that could teach the skills necessary to thrive in IT. I wanted to learn the fundamentals, but not waste thousands of dollars on a 4 year degree that is obsolete the moment you receive your diploma, usually with no industry-focused certifications backing up your knowledge base. Finally, after so many years and moving states I stumbled upon LeaderQuest - Dallas. My initial assessment of the school was that it would be like any other vocational/trade school that burns through your financial aid/GI Bill ect.. and/or the training is half-hearted and some students start the class knowing more than the instructors. My fears were immediately mitigated by my sit down conversation with Mr. Robert MacIntyre, who is my academic adviser. He understood my concerns, heard me out respectfully and effectively put my fears out of my head. His engaging demeanor, knowledge of the industry (which is hard to find in most placement/adviser/admissions depts anywhere) and commitment to me getting the most out of the school with my own plan/pathway, not the school getting the most out of me, was a very welcome deviation from the norm. I have encouraged multiple people to get involved with this program through Robert as he has proven himself a trustworthy, and hilarious staff member. They also have a sincere, highly skilled and dedicated Employment Development Manager in the form of the lovely Ericka Ofurum. Her pleasure is to assist (I repeat ASSIST) in your job search and she is phenomenal at this function. She has many contacts within IT in the region that she has developed and continues to develop more in order to provide an opportunity for either a seasoned IT person, or "greenhorn" to earn a position and thrive in a career. I know she works hard but she definitely makes it look easy. Get to know her, keep in contact, and she won't steer you wrong. James is my instructor for CompTIA and has thus far been a fount of knowledge and a fantastic representative of what LeaderQuest - Dallas has to offer attending students. I have every reason to believe he will continue to impress me with his industry experience, and desire to impart focused, useful wisdom into his students. Of course, it doesn't hurt that he can take a dry subjects and power point presentations and keep the class engaged with wit-infused jokes. He's a valuable asset to this organization and I would encourage anyone seeking instructor input into attending LeaderQuest to speak with James Grimes. Now of course there are other staff members to include the Campus Director Mr. Villareal who have been accommodating and understanding of my work schedule while still maintaining a friendly atmosphere. However, a company cannot function without an efficient front office. Jan and Miranda do a wonderful job keeping the school and students organized, the staff effective, and the environment light-hearted. Every time I have had a question they don't let me go without an answer. They are exceptionally charming, and make a school feel warm and inviting (which in my opinion is very hard to do) LeaderQuest - Dallas did themselves a huge favor having these two on board and I enjoy walking through the door at the beginning and end of my day knowing I can wave to these two. Overall the school has met my every expectation and more and I look forward to continuing my education, earning my CompTIA, Network +, and Security + certificates, and having a fulfilling career knowing I can reach back to this program when I need to for support, and maybe a laugh with it. After working many years in Technology Environments supporting Financial Services Companies, I had an opportunity to retire and slow down. Turns out I didn't really want to retire, I wanted a long time off with lots of travel. So after 9 months I decided it was time to get back into the job market, but realized to give myself a competitive edge I needed to obtain several certifications. With a little help from my friends at Texas Workforce Solutions and Veteran's Assistance they put me in touch with LeaderQuest Dallas. I never looked back! For me, LeaderQuest was the total solution. Every phase of the process was professional, friendly and efficient. Robert MacIntyre was my initial contact person for LeaderQuest. He was knowledgeable and friendly, also perceptive. He picked up on my concern with not having been in a classroom environment for a very long time and counseled me accordingly. I subsequently met Miranda, Kebria, and Michelle who provided most of the administrative assistance and navigation help I needed. The instructors I had for both certificates I was pursuing were well suited to the role and provided excellent presentation and discussion of the required material. By the time I had to take the tests I felt well prepared and confident. Their labs are well equipped, comfortable and pretty spacious. You will get ample and knowledgeable attention at each stage of your training and I believe you will continue to have online access to your course material for a while after you take your test (at least I did). I was laid off from a position of a few years and was contacted by a Career Adviser name Linda with Leaderquest who located my resume on Monster. She asked general questions about my background and explained some things about the school and what opportunities were available. From there I went into the office and met with a Career Training Consultant name Jay. He advised me of various programs and paths at the school that could help me reach my career goals. We selected one and I was approved for grants that funded my programs. I have just completed training for my CompTIA Network + and Security +. The design of the programs was well organized and laid out. The school provides a wealth of information and resources, knowledgeable Instructors, and on-site they have computers for the students to use so if you do not have one you can still get started. The training can be accessed and studied anywhere, but being the class with peers to collaborate and study with is irreplaceable. There are people from all walks of life in the classes. There are also a lot of Veterans of all ages on grants that are making career changes or returning back to the workforce. Several people were there being funded by their employers to advance their skills, and others paid out of pocket. I was also excited to see return students. The way the classes are laid out benefit new comers to the industry as well as those who have experience. Everyone is there to help including the staff. I have yet to meet one person employed there that has not gone out of their way to ensure each student is on track and satisfied with what they are doing. I am looking forward to completing my Cisco training at the start of 2020 and will be returning back and paying to gain more certifications to grow my career. read more

Being reached out to by LeaderQuest is probably the best thing to happen to me yet. In fact, joining LeaderQuest was probably the best life changing decisions I have ever made. I had a strong IT background coming out of the Navy in 2011, I went to college to get my bachelors in Criminology, and I was on my way to working a low paying security job or perhaps even pursuing law enforcement until I was contacted and recruited through LeaderQuest. I was able to complete my ITIL Foundations and CompTIA A+ certification, and currently in the process of working towards Network+, Security+, and CEH. The staff is phenomenal; they allowed me to resit classes as many times as I felt was necessary to grasp and learn the information, they were very prompt and punctual in response time when ever I had questions or needed any kind of assistance, and every one there is very knowledgeable and if there is something they don't know, they were extremely great at getting an answer or providing the resources for success. LeaderQuest Dallas is a great environment, highly conducive to learning, great staff and instructors, and if it weren't for them, I would wouldn't have been afforded the opportunity to work or be qualified for the position that I am currently working. Without the hard work, encouragement, and support of the organization and its staff, I would have suffered many more challenges and obstacles, and in all honesty, I don't know where I would have ended up. As a Veteran I am always seeking new challenges. Recently, I was afforded an opportunity to reenter Vocational Training and accrue more knowledge to compliment my current Degree. Upon deciding the field I was going to venture in I chose LeaderQuest to be the provider of the additional education and training I needed to remain marketable in my Senior years. I must say, I have attended a multitude of different schools during my Military Career and in the Civilian Sector, and this is the first environment I've felt was similar to the professional and disciplined structured environment that I accustomed too in a bygone time when I enjoyed training Soldiers over the Course of my Career, as a Non-Commissioned Officer in our beloved Armed Forces . The Instruction and the Curriculum is being taught in a manner reminiscent of my days as an NCO in the US Army when I trained Soldiers on Thursdays known as Sgts. Time, with focus and properly constructed slides, streamlined instruction along with a imaginable outline of Tasks, Conditions and Standards, that are seemingly present in memory from a seasoned Instructor whose experience is evident though his resume, and approach to presenting the Curriculum! LeaderQuest was recommended to me by a career advisor that understood I was looking for a way to further my education in order to get started in the IT sector for a new career. I met with what LeaderQuest calls a Career Training Consultant and came away with a lot of great information about how LeaderQuest, its programs, and staff could help me move forward. One great appeal was I could be successful learning the "meat & potatoes" of IT without the inefficient and soon to be obsolete degree programs of college. While attending a local Hiring Our Heroes, job fair event in Dallas recently, I met Brandon Smith and began my association with LeaderQuest. I am a Marine Corps veteran, an active member of several veterans organizations and a volunteer with the Veterans Resources & Outreach Center in Rowlett, Texas. Much of what I do involves connecting potential employers with those veterans who are in the process of transitioning from military life, assimilating into "civilian life" and assuming their roles in their communities. LeaderQuest is a very good IT school to enroll in. The instructors, trainer, and Mentors are all excellent. They have very good career resources and holds a job fair on-site to help you definitely to be marketable and be able to get a job after training. The Counselors seems good and all. Jay Thompson was my counselor I worked with he was excellent and was in contact during the process of figuring out my way to start school being new to IT. Checks on me when we run into each other on campus to ask how classes are going. There are good mentors like KJ who helps you with any study techniques, exam anxieties and follow his regimen and you will pass. There are good instructors on-site and online as well. I took Mr. Rod Oatis for three classes and he too will help you during class sending you study curriculum for his class that will help you master the course and certification. My very first class teacher was very jovial Mr. John for ITIL 4. Remember to meet with campus mentor before taking tests even if your brain is a photographic memory or an honor student you will be glad you did. All instructors are seasoned veterans in IT. Wonderful school, workers, and staffs to be with lots of snacks in the morning and evening but it's first come first serve basis. Army Veteran. Paramedic. Trained Pastry Chef. I've held many titles and spent several years in college studies. So when health issues cut short my most recent career, I started looking for a career that would pay well and accommodate future health concerns. I found IT. Great place to go and learn about computers and other I.T. subjects. The real challenge is in getting your I.T. certifications, but LeaderQuest goes a long way in helping you achieve your dreams of becoming an I.T. professional and working in the industry. Veteran friendly and committed to helping you navigate the sometimes confusing number of paths you can take. I did my homework before coming to this school by Googling them, reading many, many personal accounts and experiences and looking through the BBB database and online for any complaints or red flags that might come up.
