I believe ownership changed recently, so I was a little worried when one of my new shirts was inadvertently damaged. But we brought the issue to their attention and they were quick to confirm the mistake and take action. But I was particularly pleased (and pleasantly surprised) to get my latest dry cleaning home only to find the exact brand and sized new shirt...waiting and pressed for me. Found them on Yelp of course. Their reviews were a hit and a miss but we really needed a place to dry clean my boyfriend's military suit. You drive up and they take your stuff and have you fill out a ticket and you receive your belongings the next day. It looked amazing! I'm not sure how they operate if they do in house cleaning or not, but it was a very nice experience. I would go back there if I get needed to utilize a dry cleaners. read more

After years of taking my laundry to Acme, it has been disappointed on the quality and customer service. The shirts were coming out of the laundry dirtier than coming in, specially white shirts. They re do some shirts and was getting worst. When I brought it up the answer was, "we can not sure they will come out clean". In addition, Millie and team are so pleasant -- with great customer service -- which is a rarity these days. With a name like ACME I was a little suspicious I might possibly be getting duped by Wile E. Coyote, but rest assured there are no anvils here. Only friendly cleaners. Pros: 1) Good service. 2) I try to live an all natural lifestyle whenever possible, but when I can't I try to go with the lesser evil. I come here because they're the only company in town to offer "green" dry cleaning which is an eco-friendlier option to using the toxic "perc" chemical. But who knows how much safer the eco-friendly option really is anyway... I'll have to do some more research & update this review later. 3) They have a drive-thru & offer home/office pickup and delivery but I've never used any of those services. Complementary in house bottled water and popcorn are available if you're interested. Cons: 1) This ain't the $1.50 cleaners, so don't be surprised if they're a little pricey! 2) I could never find their Ridgewood St. location which would be closer for me. read more

I've used Acme for over a year. They are wonderful. They check to make sure I'm satisfied and have suggested people for leather repair. The College Park location took my dress on short notice and put a rush in on cleaning it so I could get it back in time for my alterations appointment. It turned out beautifully! Acme Cleaners/WedClean exceeded my expectations. It was my one dream to wear my grandmother's 60 year old, hand made wedding dress to my own wedding. After years of damage, the fabric was almost burlap brown. It seemed impossible to return it to the original white color. I provided my dress, not knowing what the outcome would be, but hoping for the best. I got a speedy phone call stating that the dress was ready, and...it was like new. I almost cried on the spot. All the stains were removed and the dress was completely returned to white. When my grandmother gave me the dress originally, she said it could never be worn again. However, since I began using ACME Laundry and Cleaners, I have been delighted! The service is great -- they deliver, my clothing is well taken care of and CLEANED to my specifications. BTY, did I say they deliver? If you get the chance to meet Heather, you'll witness the charm and professionalism that's surely a genuine part of their culture. My husband once left a $20 bill in his suit jacket. When the dry-cleaning was returned, an envelope was included and there was the $20. How awesome is that? Terrible! Ruined a $1000 St John knit dress and blamed it on "'defective" fabric after they sent it to a bogus fabric insitute which Nieman Marcus, where dress was purchased, said was baloney. They got what looked like oil in a splatter pattern on this garment and it took them three weeks to decide I was out of luck. STAY AWAY! read more
