First and LAST time EVER coming into this Acme, let alone any other. Pricing is all wrong. Meat department took 15 minutes to get someone to bother to help, and then they said, "Well, no one's here today so I guess I'm your de facto help. But I can't cut any meat." So much for the local butcher positioning. Then, we ran into the kicker of the day...the large woman with silver hair and glasses (don't know her name or I'd use it) berated my wife and I for having our dog with us. She claimed that even service dogs aren't allowed in the store anymore due to an "incident" a couple of weeks ago. First of all, that is against the law. Second, her entire attitude was just disgusting. She clearly doesn't like animals (or her job) given the aggression and attitude. Never mind the fact that the store wasn't that clean, and the rest of the staff look miserable being there. Needless to say, in our town there are TONS of AMAZING options with stores like Stop N Shop, Hannaford and Shop Rite. So this isn't a big loss for us...but thousands of dollars in revenue to this store being given to another. Buh bye! read more

A little expensive and some of the help are not that courteous. I only go there when I need something quick. The roasted chickens are decent. They do need to check the expiration on the dairy products. Found some moldy cheese on more than one occasion. Decent beer selection. A lot of the freezers are out of service. Don't know what is up with that. Been offline for a month now. read more

ACME in Hopewell Jct is my go-to supermarket. Ample parking & relatively clean for a public market, ACME has everything I need, and despite being a little pricey, meets all my expectations as a food shopper. read more

Great selection of food.The prices are pretty good.The people who work at ACME are very nice and pleasant.

This was the old A&P reborn as Acme. I recall the A&P it was OK. This place seems bigger and has more variety on the shelves. I like that they have several heat and eat meals for 1 options. They are something to nuke at work for lunch. read more

Deli department staff is way too slow!!!!! They all seem like they need to be trained more.

Hi, the internet says it opens at 6 am so I went there at 6:23 am and they said they did not open until 7 am. They were rude and asked them why the internet said they opened at 6 am? They said they have tried to change it but couldn't again said very rudely. The people behind the information counter have always been less than accommodating and when they do answer they seem bothered. I was there for a specific reason for an over the counter medication for my husband. The lack of compassion was obvious. read more

So against better judgement, I went shopping here again out of dire necessity. I witnessed the nastiest cashier say to a customer, "Insufficient funds" when her card declined. She was very loud in saying it and there was quite a long line. The woman was visibly embarrassed and upset. The cashier then said, "well since you have no money, how do you intend to pay?" Again it was very loud and very uncalled for. That poor young lady was so upset by this witch of a cashier and she really did look like a witch too, large diseased looking nose, long hair that looked like it hadn't seen a brush in months. When it was my turn I said "hi how are you" and she totally ignored me. From expired food to rude and nasty cashiers, shop elsewhere....ANYWHERE else!! read more

This is my second review of this supermarket. I really love it!!!!! The store is well managed, staff friendly. They have great selections. Their Signature brand is delicious, store brand meat is better than big brands and their cold cuts stay fresh!!!!!! Recent updates to the store have made it even better, organic produce and natural brands added. read more

I went to ACME at Hopewell Junction this week and I was a little annoyed that some of the products I purchased were ringed up wrong. However, when I went to the customer service desk, I had the pleasure of working with Rachel, who was so sweet and helpful. She provided excellent customer service; moreover, she is the reason why I keep coming back to shop at Acme. Acme needs more workers like Rachel! Someone give her a raise!!! read more

I don't get the negative ratings for this store. I just moved into the area and I find it to be a terrific store. There's a great deli and fish department, prepared foods, and a terrific vegetable and fruit section. You have to travel many miles from town to find a good store like this. As for prices, I found them very reasonable. You can get lower prices at the giant superstores in Fishkill, but that's a drive. Let's not be so quick to find the negative. It may not have the exact product you want but it has most of everything, perhaps in smaller selections due to it's size. I like the store very much. Convenience means a lot to me. Think of what a trip it'd be to have to drive much farther. And it's clean and bright with nice courteous folks working there. read more

About 2 months ago, I ordered cold cuts at the deli counter and the person slicing them sneezed into her hand and went right back to slicing the cold cuts...no glove change. As for the pricing, it's as if they believe that there aren't any other grocery stores within 100 miles. It doesn't have a community grocery store vibe either...it's kind of lifeless. read more

This acme store is a joke. They never have anything in stock. They close their entrance doors at 8:30pm instead of 9:00pm going by the sign on the door, and some nights even earlier. So, you are forced to walk in through the exit door of the store have to walk on the other side of the store in the entrance lobby to grab a cart to go shopping. Not to mention once you are done shopping, you get stuck at the exit door up to 2 minutes and can't leave because the person blocking your exit while they are using the lotto machine that is literally in front of the exit door, and there is only 1 exit to leave the store. All the staff are rude and all act like they don't want to be there. You ask any one of their employees a question, they act like you are wasting their time, and why you even speaking to me attitude. Half of them can't even answer simple questions about locations of some food items. Then when you go on self-checkout, you are being watched by the employees as if you are about to steal something and run out of the store. These employees must be so bored at their job and need a star from their mangers, so they are more worried about catching a thief then helping any of the customers online at the self-checkout. The other night a young African American female employee who works the self-checkout there at nights, thought I was stealing for some crazy wild reason and not ringing up all my food items at the self-checkout, she was literally standing behind me, to try and intimidate me as if she caught be doing something illegal or wrong, like she was employee of the month or a superhero for acme. I noticed someone inches from behind me, and I called her out and told her what she was doing was rude and uncalled for. There were customers on all the other registers that night and she's standing behind me and watching me like I was stealing. Who do these young employees think they are to accuse someone of doing something and telling me she's just doing her job. It's your job to assume someone is stealing? and get in their face and intimidate them, like I'm right here, so don't steal. These employees get paid minimum wage, not sure why these young adults think they are loss prevention and store register clerks, you get paid to sell food, not to be a detective and try to catch thieves, that employee and all the rest of acme employees needs to slow her role, and her manager needs to reinforce her role because what she is doing is rude and unprofessionally. Not to mention what a little girl is going to do with a real thief who plans to steal from that store, I hope it's worth the $14 an hour for her. I hope that a higher manager sees this post and really does something about this behavior with their employees. I will continue to shop at this Acme store in Hopewell JT NY, but I refuse to use the self-check because of the wannabe detective employees who are making it very obviously and making assumptions that you are about to commit a crime. Like WTF? Never in my life have I ever experienced customer service like this from a supermarket. Besides their nasty and rude employees and poor customer service at nighttime, and the fact you have to go through the exit doors after 8-8:30 at night and have to go through customers with carts who are leaving the exit doors and pissed you are in their way, it's still a cheap supermarket compared to other supermarkets in the area, and that alone is worth me going back. General Acme Manager please stop your employees from making acme customers feel like thieves. The self-check-out employees can still keep a look out for thieves, they shouldn't automatically go up to a random customer on self-check out and invade their personal space and make assumptions of a crime being committed in the customers face. Maybe next time the employee should wait until he/she actually sees a crime has been committed before confronting an Acme customer, instead of making a judgement call before a crime has been committed. Maybe it was the color of my skin, or the way i was dressed that night, that made the employee think I was going to commit a crime. Who knows, but these employees need to be retrained by management. read more

Picked up some groceries on January 7 2020. Found when I got home that the 8 piece fried chicken piece bag I bought someone had Already eaten a chicken leg and placed the bone back into the bag, animals. Won't ever shop there again. That is a real health and safety concern! read more

Just shopped here...though not the cheapest around they have a good selection....more importantly the staff is very polite and helpful when needed...Jason in the meat department is very knowledgeable and eager to help,,,, It's not easy being behind the register at the check out....the public can be especially rude to patrons who may not be having such a good day....JT has a great smile, wonderful energy and a commitment to providing a good experience....it was a pleasure JT! read more

Second time this year had dealings with customer service gal with black hair in her 50s who is the customer service manager, with poor results. My friend wanted to buy Kraft macaroni n cheese on sale for 9 cents a box and limit two boxes. When asked by cashier if my friend had put it on her card she said no and didn't know how to do it , so she walked over to this customer service gal and asked her if she assist her in getting this product scanned to her Acme account .She abruptly said " Do it yourself " this was said to my friend who is in her 60 s and did not represent customer service by any stretch of the imagination and it's Tuesday which is senior citizens day to boot. I needed help once during the year and another young customer service gal actually offered to show me how to get my desired item onto my card That helpful gal is no longer there. Earlier in the season I picked up apples labeled 1.99/ lb but was charged double. I went to customer service to ask what happened to the sale and this black haired gal again, abruptly said " they are apparently not on sale , you are mistaken. " I was telling her about the signage under those Gala apples and she gave me an annoyed look and was about to deny me again , when a young male sitting next to her said he would go and check it out. He returned and explained to her that the pricing label had expired and should have been pulled. So he arranged to give the apples to me at the advertised price on the label. The mngr just turned away and busied herself with paperwork. The young male apologized for the situation but she did not. The rule of thumb in retail markets is if this occurs to a customer , the customer gets the items free to aswage the inconvienience caused by the store's mislabelling as happened to me at an A&P years ago. This customer service pales in comparison to Shoprites Customer service in Lagrange,who routinely loads my card with the digital coupons I need that day and they are very pleasant about it. When I first walked in this store it had an odor, the prices are high...this store needs a makeover if it wants more customers.

Acme decided they would use "westchester" Prices so it is extremely expensive compared to Hanna ford.

Awful. Why did A&P have to go? It was THAT much better!! When this store fails and closes like Tops in Wappingers, please just expand the place and let Walmart come in with a Neighborhood Market if they want to. Nothing else will work, and it will bring more jobs. Thanks! read more

This store does not like to give its customers paper bags. It would rather push their plastic bags that help kill this environment. I go here and fill up my basket and find they have no paper bags so I just leave the basket filled and I walk out of the store now they have to pay someone else to put all the stuff away They should've gone for the paper bag it would've only cost them a nickel. They have heard about complaints like this before, they just don't care. read more

Good for quick odds and ends but could carry a better fresh vegetable section. I also think their pet food can be a bit overpriced.
