Come here often for groceries. Nice upgrade from the A&P, clean inside. Produce section is great. They carry many specialty items for gluten-free. Bakery is not your regular grocery store bake shop. They offer many beautiful custom cakes. Staff is also helpful and pleasant. read more

If you order items for pickup, CALL first to find out if they've really got what they CLAIM to be selling! Otherwise, you'll order and pay for an item only to be find out once you're on your way that no, they're out of that. I'm not sure they they're "selling" what they don't have, but since they do, well, buyer beware! When I went there to pick up my order, I was told that I absolutely HAD to have the 4 digit code they'd emailed to me in order to get my groceries; the order number wasn't enough and my name wasn't enough identification. That 4 digit code was all that mattered! Eventually I did find it, but how difficult would it have been to have jotted down the customer's name or used the online order number?! I've shopped at several stores that have pickup service, and this is the first time that I've come across this limitation and inflexibility. Perhaps, given their carelessness in "selling" what they didn't have in the first place, this shouldn't have been surprising, but it was one more annoying feature of this store. read more

The store seems to be out of many products every week. I had 15 products to purchase today and they were out of 6 of them. These were not "boutique items"-- just regular, every day things like cottage cheese, coffee, and sparkling water... If you order online, the shoppers make nonsensical substitutions like decaff coffee when theyre out of regular. At this point, I guess I have to start shopping at Stop and Shop. read more

Awful store. I actually hate myself when I shop here.I hate myself for not going to a decent store a little further away. Expect igh prices, lousy produce and smelly meat. And wheeling a cart here is dangerous with large cardboard displays all over the place impeding all the shoppers as they try to maneuver their huge and heavy carts through the narrow aisles .Good luck to all those that have to shop here, you need it. read more

Maybe this particular store should start training their managers a little better! I was in Rye Ridge shopping and as I passed the deli section, what I assume was a manager was very loudly reprimanding a young lady who I guess works in the deli as well for calling out sick and how if she did it once more she'd be fired! I'm sure that there is an office or back area where he could talk to her and not right in front of all the customers! She seemed very embarrassed and I was embarrassed for her. Customers shouldn't have to hear that kind of talk out in the open. He's lucky that wasn't my daughter he was talking to!! read more

Lets start by saying ...yuk! I live close to the store so I figured its local I'll shop there. Go to the deli counter and starring you right there is a Boars Head slicing guide, okay cool. You hope the people behind the counter are trained to slice accordingly. Wrong! I asked for my ham to be sliced "#3" thin, but to be sure my order was understood I stated "thin!" I get home opened the package and my ham was shredded! great if I was making an omelet. To add more to the yuk, there were remnants of a previous "meat" included. So not only is my order not prepared the way I wanted I get foreign matter included thankfully it didn't wink at me! I used to go to Fairway in Stamford why...well they had a deli man who would slice and show to confirm thickness, he spoiled me. Not only that but before he would slice he would clean the slicer and the immediate area. Sadly the store closed. I reached out to corporate to express my myself regarding my experience they seemed to show concern but I will not hold my breath for the store manager to reach out to me. After this experience I'll think about going back, oh and its not just this store. Had a similar experience in Greenwich CT ! read more

The lady in charge at the express checkout evening shift today at 7/14/21 around 930pm needs to tone it down , she yelled from the other end in a pestering tone telling me what button to press at the computer. Manners please thank you. How are these people get hired? Does she think im illiterate and cant understand english? I do most of my grocery shopping here. Prices and quality of most things are good, plus there are bonus savings with a free membership card. Their pre-made meals aren't so good but that's the only down side for me. read more

This store is so crowded its ridiculous. If there was ever an emergency you would be doomed. The produce is terrible. I think they keep the bananas refrigerated they have no taste. Grapes & cherries are awful, no taste and mushy. Other fruit looks good on outside inside is rotted! What a wasted of money. I go here for convenience but will soon be shopping elsewhere for my fruit and veggies. read more

Bad experience at butcher today. I called ahead to ask for steaks to be cut 3 in thick. When I picked them up they were barely one and a half inches. I asked him if he could re-cut a steak and he gave me an attitude and told me not to call in advance anymore. I did complain to management but who knows where that will go. I didn't want him to recut the steaks because I wasn't sure what he would do to them. read more

DISRESPECTFUL RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE!!! My husband applied here and a few days after his interview they call him to tell him to come in and bring his license and social security card so obviously we thought he got the job because why else would they ask him to bring that. The day he takes it, the only thing they tell him is they'll call him to let him know the next steps. A week passes by and no call so he decides to go to the store and ask what's happening. When he went in, he went directly to the lady who told him that she would call him to let him know the next steps and when he asked what was happening she looked at him confused and said "Orientation was on Saturday." At that point my husband said "Well why didn't anyone call me to let me know. I've been waiting for the call for a week." She then proceeded to lie and said that she told him about the orientation the last time he came. My husband kept insisting that she was wrong because if she had said that, he would've never forgotten about it. She then went to get the store manager which my husband knew because he was the person that had interviewed him so when the manager came, my husband explained the situation to him and all the manager said was "Okay hold on wait here." and he left. My husband was waiting there for 10 minutes while the manager was walking around the store simply looking at customers and helping them if needed and stocking products. I know he is the manager and all but he really couldn't have given my husband just two minutes out of his time to explain to him why no one called him to let him know about the orientation or what was going to happen now. Instead the same lady looked at my husband and told him to leave that she will remind the manager to call him. That happened Monday morning at 10:30 and guess what? Still no call from anyone at that store about anything. I don't understand how a big company like that could be so unprofessional and inconsiderate about another person. We got our hopes up so high because we thought my husband got the job and they ruined it. We wasted another whole week waiting on that phone call when we could've been applying to other jobs. read more

It's a really bad place to buy your groceries. They have all kind of food expired from 2019! How's that possible, really irresponsible staff. We already complained to the "manager" but they never did anything about that. I'll never shop in there again. read more

The staff are very helpful. Dominick in the butcher department always goes above and beyond. But yesterday I had a terrible experience. I completed my shopping, paid was handed what I thought were all of my bags and proceeded to leave. When I got outside I realized I did not have all of my bags. So, I went back in and questioned the cashier. He told me the lady behind me took them and went into the parking lot looking for me. Another customer confirmed what the cashier said. We went out to the parking lot and realized the woman was gone! She STOLE the bags! I went back into the store and the service desk checked what I had and told me to go get what was stolen. I am still in shock that anyone, especially someone my age would stoop so low. If she was that desperate I would have paid for her groceries. read more

With the opening of other better chains like Balducci, places like these need to go out of business, considering the rude employees they have. A cashier named Latoya is extremely rude, doesn't smile and gives you a dirty look when you interrupt her texting on her phone, just because you want to pay for your groceries. I really don't understand the logic in hiring people with no customer service skills. I wouldn't put them to work in a zoo watching after animals. They must pay them a horrible wage which is why they take it out on the customers. Latoya needs to get a life or better yet, another job if she doesn't like serving the public. read more

The staff has been pleasant to me since I started coming here. I like that they bake their own donuts every day. Only thing I miss from the old store is that there's no markdown produce area. I like to juice and like throwing in some overripe fruit. I'll be a regular here...easier than the giant stores, but bigger than tiny markets...just the right size for me. read more

The Rye Brook Acme to me is an excellent food store.and my favorite till this day.But I do have gripes with this branch.I worked and lasted 1 full week there.Now im not a quitter by any means and I was in training in the meat deli dept.I worked with this boss there named John who to me was the most rudest guy I have ever worked for in my entire life.All he did was throw threats at me about quitting and just full blown nasty towards me and it all started on my 2nd day there.This guy is just that a boss but not a leader.a boss just gives orders to his employees and will never get respect in return.while a leader works with his employees and gains his respect through his employees and becomes a team leader.I had to quit his tone was not nice and it became very stressful to me.I wanted when I applied for a job here as a cashier.And they needed someone in the deli dept.The cashier job was nine dollars per hour while the deli thirteen per hour.It was in the beginning twenty hours per week as it was part-time.The second week I was put down for fourteen hours,which is no money at all.Ive noticed about ACME that nobody smiles in this store all the employees look like they dislike there jobs,including the supervisors,with frowns no expressions of joy anywhere.Ive never worked in a non cheerful place in my life.My last job I was there 17 years.never a problem. read more
