They seemed to have done a remodel of the store. True the last time I was there was in 2022. It seems that they purged all the organic items with their regular items. Some aisles have been moved around. I literally walked around looking for items that were in a different one before. It did remind me of Winn Dixie. Service was okay. I used the self scan. It was cluttered with items on pallets waiting to be put out on floor by workers. But I didn't see Marty, he's usually rolling on by but he could've been in his charging station. It's a great store because even on the holidays there is tons of parking. However the store doesn't seem to have proper staff. There's 10 Lanes that someone checks you out and 2-4 have someone there. The self check outs are broken. Some don't accept cash and you find that out as your next in line. If they do break down while your using it, expect to wait a while before someone notices you need help. The hardest working employee at that store is the robot Marty who seems to be the only one cleaning up the place. Btw don't use the restrooms. Dirty and never have soap in the restrooms. read more

I go to this shop for my grocery shopping every week. The shop is ok except today, i.e. April 28, 2020. I bought a pack of chicken thighs in full price this morning and found out the meat was not fresh even it will expire on April 29. I then took the meat back for refunds and they told me all food are final due to this critical time. It was not fair. Can a shop use this critical time as an excuse to continue selling bad meats to customers ? The policy for no return should base on the fact that the food are fresh. I complained to the Store Manager, Jaime and he has no help at all. read more

I generally go here because of its convenient location and ample parking. I pretty much think that it's a nice location though its upkeep sometimes is spotty. For example, the cart return areas in the parking lot sometimes are filled with carts and I don't see enough turn around by staff to make them available. I like that there is a good footprint for products but sometimes I wonder. For example, the "While Supplies Last" deals need to be carefully inspected. Two separate times I tried to go to the cold cut section in the back to see what was available. The first time was cold cuts that were expired .... the whole rack. Teh second time (tonight) I went and saw some vacuum packed cooked links that were three weeks past expiration. read more

Seriously I need to come to this location more! Everything seems to be fresher then the one on Westchester ave in white plains. The customer service and the food and non food times are so much better way more choices. The lines also seems to move faster I found it was cleaners as well. read more

So, I seem to be visiting all the regional Stop and Shops. I went to this one because it is adjacent to Costco in Port Chester. This is actually a pretty nice Stop and Shop compared to the other ones I've been so far! I've had to lower my standards since leaving Wegmans land, I haven't found a grocery that compares to even the worst of that chain. Still, one has to work with what one has, and this one has a few features where it seems like they're trying to compete with Wegmans. This location has a "make your own six pack" beer option, but unfortunately most of the beers available are Bud/Miller/Coors pretend microbrews, so not quite as cool as first look. Their produce is pretty ok, but not outstanding. The store overall is organized pretty well, and the bottle return is in a place that isn't too terrible. read more

We get our weekly shopping done here. Prices are fair and they have almost everything you would need around the house that is food/health/laundry/cleaning related. More importantly, this place is clean. Parking is easy. There is a huge lot that is covered (so you don't get soaked if it's raining), and there are always employees transporting shopping carts from the outside, back in. Those who are stocking the shelves are incredibly helpful; in fact, just today, we found an issue with prices and the employee promptly helped us with our issue. And with a smile to boot. They have a mix of healthy and unhealthy foods--sure to appeal to a broad spectrum of customers. It seems like they're very attentive to their customers' requests and will obtain an item ASAP. I love apples, and I love how large their apple selection is. They're always adding new kinds of apples too, so it's a great way to try them all out and find a new kind. I've been obsessed with Jazz apples for the past few years, thanks to these guys. The one drawback is that the fruits and vegetables are hit or miss. Some days everything is super fresh, probably because everything was just restocked. On other days, everything is old and wilted. Never encountered anything moldy, but you can tell that the fruits/vegetables won't last for much longer. Usually, I will just buy apples from Stop & Shop and get all my other fruits and vegetables from Whole Foods in Greenwich, Stew Leonard's in Norwalk, or the Apple Farm in White Plains. As for meat, we don't buy it here anymore because I am a vegetarian. Now my family waits for a trip to Stew Leonard's to get fresher meat (you can definitely taste the difference). Overall a good store that doesn't feel seedy or gross. It is well maintained and well worth shopping at to get items for our weekly needs. read more

It's a matter of convenience....living in Port Chester it is the ONLY big Supermarket in the area....ACME located in Rye Brook is small and EXPENSIVE to fully shop in!! We DESPERATELY NEED another big market such as Shop Rite....it's ashame nothing seems to stay in the old PATHMAR/KEY FOOD!!! Huge selection and very clean store. Employees are nice and parking is ok. I don't think the prices are that great. I understand now why Costco is driving supermarkets out of business. I think Pathmark is cheaper too. I wouldn't not go there. Now a days, there is not too many supermarket companies left. This one is Dutch owned. But Costco has nothing to fear. Where do I even start with this location. My biggest complaint and let down is the customer service of this location. I have been shopping at this store since it first opened years ago and I have seen the customer service decline so fast that I dread even shopping here. They have 6 self-check out stations, they are always out of order or you need to call for help, and you usually have to wait about 5-10 minutes for someone who is supposed to be there at your service, but instead you have to stand there and hope someone comes soon because they are too busy not doing their job. Next... What ever happened to the cashiers lending a helping hand with bagging your groceries at check out? Or even better...what ever happened to training the cashiers to PROPERLY BAG GROCERIES and not just throwing them into a bag and making it as heavy as possible?!? I put my groceries on the belt based on how I want them bagged....I usually end up doing my own bagging because they have eliminated so many staff (baggers) and they scan the items so quickly, I can barely keep up. At the end of the cashier ringing up my items, they usually stand (or have side conversations with other cashiers) there and watch me helplessly try and get all my groceries quickly into my bags so I can pay. The attitudes, the dirty looks, the huffing and puffing because I'm not going fast enough for them....HOW ABOUT SOME HELP!?!?! My next move is to make a formal complaint to the store directly. Not to the manager because they are almost as useless as the lady who is supposed to handle the self-checkout stations. read more

I like Stop & Shop for its late hours. It's one of the few places in the area that is open until Midnight. Costco closes way earlier & Whole Foods is closed by 10 pm. So if you forget something & are in need of fresh produce or cookies, Stop & Shop is a good alternative. I like the people who work here, they are helpful & will give you the discount if you forget your Stop & Shop card. They have Stop & Shop chocolate cookies with candy that are pretty good. They used to make them really soft, now they bake them a little more but they are still good. I tend not to like most baked goods at supermarket chains but I have to admit that their cookies are pretty good. They carry a mix of healthy & junk foods, and also they used to have the Mexican Coke (with the cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup). I'm not sure if they still have it, but you can request that they order it for you at customer service. Very convenient parking especially during the winter & when it rains, it's covered so you don't have to worry about your groceries getting soaking wet/snowed on. read more

This chain stinks. No fresh evolution green grove or other flavored smoothie are there so dieting is not possible.I repeatedly have asked managers who ignore it. Frankly it is a low rated supermarket because no one cares or works to improve it. Why would you in Greenwich when right across the street is your competitor? This one isn't much better. i sometimes wish if only acme or another chain puts them out of business forever since they have so little regard for request or orders. In terms of service, it is not a good business model. If you didn't have to drive you would have more choices so that is the only reason anyone goes there. I can't give this store a one because it does have a better variety and layout than many other Stop & Shop stores but my issue is that their produce is bad about 50% of the time and I have purchased dairy products from here before that expire the day of purchase - be careful and really check what you buy so you don't end up wasting your time and money. read more

I call this store STOP AND WAIT. This store is getting worse by the year. I began shopping there when it first opened and have noticed a continual decline in the past few years. The produce is horrible. Very old and expensive. Many perishable items are past their expiration date, and still out on the floor for sale. The checkout lanes are nearly always understaffed, and yet there are "managers" on the phone or on the floor milling around doing nothing; while the local people are waiting in interminable lines, just to get their necessities, and get to work on time. When this is called to managements' attention, there is a sigh and eyeroll, and barely an acknowledgement of the problem. There are countless " self-checkout" lanes that take forever because they are not user friendly and have constant backups due to problems with checkout. The courtesy counter is generally understaffed and slow-moving. The checkout staff are friendly and helpful, however, and I wish management could take some lessons from them. In summary: Old food/unhelpful attitudes/SLOW service/= poor management Now that Whole Foods opened nearby, I use them or CostCo 90% of the time. And only shop at Stop and Shop under dire necessity for unperishable items only. PS I have even written to corporate Stop and Shop about the conditions of the store, and included pictures of rotting produce on display, and have received no satisfaction from them either. read more

I come here at least once a week and every time I come here I don't wait that long on line, there is always at least 7 register open, they also have a convenience parking lot, and also have 2 red box machine to rent movies, if you stop by you will love it. read more

When I am going to learn to NOT shop here although there's not alot of choice in the PChester/Rye Brook area. Purchased Klondike ice cream sandwiches and when I go to have one next day all of them were completely melted so the ice cream part was on 1 side of the package and the wafer part was on the other, THEN REFROZEN and this uneatable product put back on the shelf just waiting for a sucker like me. Please learn from my mistakes and never shop at this store. Except for Theresa who does a wonderful job managing the bedlam of the automatic checkout area, this store is a disgrace and constantly selling spoiled or ruined food. If there's any way you can, ALWAYS check what you're buying thoroughly before putting in your cart (especially the produce). Can't tell you how many times I've bought peaches, apples, etc., only to find out they were all mealy and uneatable and most likely ALL of that stack of produce was the same, spoiled and not fit for human consumption. Since the workers all seem nice and helpful, I will assume the problem lies with Management and corporate direction of the company itself. If you can't deal with the low margins of the grocery business without treating your customers right then get out of the business!! read more
