You would think that the fact I've checked in here 35+ times would mean that I think highly of the place. The sad fact is that living in Yorktown means Acme or Turcos. And sometimes you just the variety and selection that comes along with a larger supermarket, although for 21st Century standards, this one isn't particularly large. The store itself has had numerous outages of freezers and refrigerated cases. I will no longer buy steaks there...too many inedible meals. And the deli staff does not know the meaning of "sliced thin". And then, there's the story a my three tries to get a blueberry pie, only to have 2 of them turn out to be cherry. Of course, you don't find that out until you get home and cut a slice. The people at the customer service desk are always nice and polite but I don't want to constantly return food, so I get what I get and frequently end up getting some stuff here and some stuff at Turcos. And imagine my surprise when I find out the produce is actually cheaper at Turcos. read more

I stopped in here quick for a few things right before Christmas. Overall I found what I needed with the exception of 1 item. Love their little gimmicky games they have. I recently got a free 2 qt sauce pot from Farberware from their sweeps game. If I'm in the area again and am in need of a supermarket I'd def stop in. read more

Produce is expensive and does not last. Their discounted items need to be discarded, not discounted... They move the products around regularly.... some items that are on sale on the isle, are charged regular price at check out! Still, the Customer Service and employees are always gracious. read more

3 strikes, your out!!! I gave this store 3 tries. Their produce is horrible, wilted, old and overpriced. How hard is it to stock fresh produce? Their buy one get one free sales are not really sales, just a gimmick to get you to think you are getting a deal. I gave ACME another try and found items that had expired dates and others that were on the borderline of the expiration date. One day they had a sale on mangos for 50 cents each, the next week it was 3 for 5.00. Beware of sales prices cause when they ring you up at the check out it comes up more then whats advertised or they mix in other items at a higher price. There produce section has alot of items from Mexico and some of there juices are produced in China. In my opinion, i believe that the town, and official or officials are involved with ACME in keeping out other competitors. Year after year the people have been stuck with this company, or forced to go to Turcos, which is no bargain either. LASTLY, there produce tastes moldy, some of there apples and oranges were starting to have spots of where the fruit was already rotten. There plastic containers of lettuce, spinach, and other leafy green vegetables were also moldy or had a moldy smell and taste. Everything i saw was either over priced, poor quality, out dated or borderline on the expiration dates on certain items, rotten or moldy produce that were not kept at the right temperatures. The deli section was way over priced, 11 or 12 dollars for ham? The fish dept had old fish thats been sitting around for days if not weeks. I worked in fish markets and can tell old fish from fresh. Sad that this place has so many issues, and most people who shop there either dont realize it or are just forced to go there because there are not other choices accept Turco's in town. The town should allow the old food Emporium to reopen as a shop rite, or Trader Joe's, that would be doing the town and its people a big service. read more

Compared to the A&P that was before Acme it is so great. Better lighting and cleaner. Interesting that the employees are the same it seems, so my presumption is that management is better. The produce also seems to be fresher and better displayed. All in all I'm happy. read more

I had a issue today with the Deli Department. I went to the service desk and asked for the Store Manager. Within seconds the Store Manger came out to speak with me, (sorry I didn't get his name) , he heard me out and was going to take care of my issue. He did the right thing and I'm a happy camper! I shopped at the Yorktown Triangle Center location. Considering we're in the middle of a pandemic, the store appeared clean, had a decent variety of produce, meat, and dry goods. Paper items not available, but that's the situation in NY right now, so it's understandable. The kids that work the register are polite, helpful, and work hard. So it was very disturbing to witness a head cashier/supervisor reprimand a worker in front of several customers. She humiliated this poor young man. My heart broke. Shame on you Acme, for treating your essential workers like crap! read more

When A&P closed all they did was put the ACME sign up and put an ACME sticker over every picture on the wall. Everything is the same as A&P with higher prices and worse product. I would make the drive to shop rite because their prices are always super low, it's worth the extra drive. read more

This market just opened up today, Sunday, October 25th, 2015 and I have to say, it is really great! All the prices are super low, and all of the store branded food is great! They are still renovating are re-arranging items and other things in the market. They are also adding more companies and businesses' food there that I have only seen at ShopRite and other food stores. I like it so far! I hope it stays this way. read more

Acme Yorktown is becoming like acme of of shrub oaks with Eve Eva what ever her name is. We limit our visits to Acme in general and gave up on the acme in shrub oaks because of the manager and Eve. While acme Yorktown is further away we pref the Yorktown for limited purchases due to their prices and quality of their products. Today we had the honor and privilege of shoppingat Acme, what a disappointment our cashier was Elizabeth, hay lady is you hate your job quit, this Elizabeth makes Eve of Acme shrub oak seem like mother Teresa, how can one person be so nasty and throwing our groceries and others just stand there like morons, had to make her do over the 35 items. She had the audacity of asking us to pay for the overcharged items and then call an 800#. I started giving this acme a 3star but as I write and relive the treatment we received I am limiting it to 2star. Do yourself a favor shop at another supermarket other than Acme read more

For an Acme, it is not bad. I am over here once a month and I stop in. It is about 300 times better than the one on Route 22 in Brewster. But it has expired goods still on the shelves . Like the two cup packs of minute microwave rice. Months out of date last time I wanted to buy some. That is not right. Means you cannot rely on them to cull out of date stuff. The sales, come on, they are not sales. And they do not consistently ring up prices right. You have to check while they ring up. And they sell off brands you never heard of and who knows where it is processed and by whom under what conditions. If someone like a Wegman's or Price Chopper from Upstate moved into the vacant supermarket in the K Mart plaza (or the K mart when it inevitably goes under , and it will , and soon at this rate), or Hannaford or Stop N Shop from New England, Acme would be history in Yorktown. They pay no attention to contemporary marketing and pricing or local need . (Take for example items like Mrs Green's sells . Mrs Green's is failing. If Acme covered what they sold, Mrs Green's would be gone. Not that that would be a good result but Mrs Green's at least in Yorktown has lost it. I will give Acme some credit --they now have an excellent varied gluten free section). Meanwhile, Acme is largely a 50's throw back.Want to take a time machine to the 1950s? Walk in the store and take a selfie! "Look ma! I am in your childhood! " Nothing would belie that. Maybe that's it.
