I love this place. Excellent selection in the grocery aisles. What I particularly enjoy is the buffet. Breakfast in the morning and , lunch and dinner as the day goes on. The food is fresh and delicious. The deli has amazing sandwiches. There is ample parking next to the front door and also behind the building. I found semolina flour here which is very difficult to find. Friendly staff. The deli also makes excellent sandwiches at very reasonable prices. read more

Came here to buy egg. However, when parked at the parking lot, was yelled by a guard next to the shopping cart "You cannot park here!!!" I went over to talk to the guard, asking why I cannot park here. His explanation is that people usually park here, go somewhere else and then not buying anything. Boss don't like that. I told him I am here to buy eggs, why can I park here? He just keeps repeating the same thing over and over again. Doesn't seems like he can fully understand my question. There were only 5-6 cars in the parking lots, yet because you looked like someone who might not be a customer(my boyfriend was wearing a backpack), you can get yelled at to get off their property? For such customer service, we decided to get back to our car to find a good EGG somewhere else instead buy some BAD EGG from this rude store. read more

I like this store for produce. They have a nice selection or organic which is nice--better than Stop and Shop. I used to like the C-Town hot foods but it's gone downhill. Food is way overcooked and everything is a mushy mess. Also, way too salty. Rotisserie chickens are cooked until the skin is black. What happened? read more

Terrible costumer service. I bought ham an hour ago. Once at home getting ready to serve it, it smelled badly, it looked dull and dry. Came back to the store for a refund and the manager said to me that it doesn't look bad and next time for me to ask the deli person to give me a taste and to not buy if i don't like it. Apparently I am not being truthful and even it was my fault for not asking for a taste. No apology for my wasted time. I know it cost only five dollars but I was not going to let it go as the deli person knows what he is selling. Mediocre workers to say the least. read more

I LOVE this place. It's really the best grocery store in the area for getting your regular weekly groceries, and they even have a lot of specialty organic and gluten-free selections. The vegetable and fruit section is way better than ShopRite and StopNShop, at least in my opinion. The prices are pretty good for the quality. You can find good meats and vegetables along with whatever else you are looking for - I even get cooking utensils and kitchenware sometimes. Also, they have a legit gluten-free section with a good selection of pastas, cereals, etc. and frozen breads and pizzas in the next aisle over. The parking lot can be a little crowded but most of the time you'll easily find a spot. A good place for your everyday grocery shopping. read more

Holy crap I love this place! I just moved to NY from Miami, so I was mentally preparing myself to start doling out twice as much for food. But not so at C-Town. This place is bordering on a teeny Whole Foods but at with reasonable prices and a far cozier feel. I have only been to C-Town following their renovations, but they have a decent amount of organic food, including meat, produce, and dairy. I live close, so I can't wait to go back and try their full selection of hot foods, more of the bakery (the day-old croissants I bought were still decent the next day), and a bit more of their cheese. The produce had everything that I wanted, too and my cashier was extremely nice and friendly. And they are also open til 10pm! That's pretty rockin, considering Tarrytown is a city of about 10,000. What a great little store! This place is good for those of us who live in town & like to walk to to the supermarket. They have a pretty good selection for a smaller store, lthough as previously mentioned, many items are pricier than Stop & Shop. However, unlike the Tarrytown S&S, C-town has a hot bar, bakery, meat & seafood counter, & an extensive deli with salads & prepared items. Also, the employees are very friendly & don't make you feel like you're wasting their time! It is definitely a great place to go for Latin food items- yucca, plantains, and a wide variety of queso cheeses, Mexican and Salvadorian Crema. They also have a good variety of natural & organic foods. There is also have a selection of fresh breads, pastries and cakes. The food bar is convenient, if somewhat inconsistent. The Mexican food items are great (I get excited when they have guacamole!) and the salads are generally good, (as long as they are not over salted) but the hot bar items seem to be hit-or-miss. I would avoid any fish dishes (overcooked and over seasoned) and baked pastas (heavy and greasy). If you grab a fresh bagel (near the entrance) & take it to the deli, you can get it toasted with cream cheese for $1.50. Add a regular coffee for $1.50 and you have breakfast for 3 bucks. I remember this store before construction when you almost walked in circles finding things.. Now it's transformed into a very good fresh mini supermarket. Nothing nearby beats the fish at this market and lots of international choices as well. It's not competing with the big box stores for all varieties but they have plenty to fill the fridge and cabinets!! read more

Finally, a renovation from the dump that was the old C-Town! I love the new C-Town. It's clean, well-maintained, and well stocked. Keep in mind, this is a smaller store, so they won't have the variety of a huge chain like A&P, Shoprite, or Stop& Shop. They now offer buffet style to-go foods as well as packaged Indian and vegan options, and a full bakery and deli. My only complaints about this store are 1) the isles are tiny, particularly the produce section. There is no way 2 carts can pass each other comfortably, and this section is often crowded, making it a race to get your produce and move on! The other complaint is their prices. Much higher than Super Stop&Shop, which is, IMO, the competition grocery store in the area. I usually suck it up and pay the higher prices though, because it means I don't have to drive up route 9 to Ossinning to Stop & Shop. read more

This is my go to supermarket as I live 3 mins from this location by car. I get deli, Salmon, meat, chicken, veggies and other groceries regularly and I've never had issues with quality. Stopped into this Supermarket as I heard they had some super low cal "frozen dessert" ice cream type thing. While the "Frozen Dessert" was a bust (basically flavorless colored creamy-ish ice), C Town impressed me with their vast inventory. They carry Kombucha, bottled green juice, and other fun healthful drinks. They have an enormous inventory of produce and a lot of organic options. I was trying to move fast so I didn't get a chance to explore a lot of the aisles but I picked up some amazing grilled organic veggies at the salad bar. Even though this isn't the most convenient location for me, I really liked this grocery store and I intend to return. I can't believe that people say they love this store. Almost everything is just thrown on the shelves (esp in the frozen section) with no care about placement. In the frozen section, you have to move things around to find what is in back because their stocking is incredibly horrible. I've asked them if they have something and they say no. I ask another person who goes to look and comes back with it. The cashiers are either aloof or rude or talking to each other. They barely look at you and don't like to bag your groceries. Full of attitude for the most part (there are one or two who act like they don't hate working there). The hot bar is a hot mess most of the time. The food is pretty hit and miss. The one section that is good is their bakery. Every cake or pie I've gotten from there has been wonderful. Another plus is the dairy aisle is nice and wide. The prices are RIDICULOUS and the parking lot is a mess. read more

This is the nicest C Town I have ever seen. From my past experiences they are dumpy stores with low quality food and poor looking customers. This C Town is different. While the selection isn't grand and sometimes the fruits/veggies will go bad I think it is a fine grocery store and the price cannot be beat. I went in today to exchange a piece of pork and I have never met management until today and I guess they were father and 2 sons but let me say they were the nicest people I have ever met and in the short time I was there they went out of there way to greet and help customers even though they pay people to do it. Cashiers look like they're still asleep and give you a wondering look like "what are you doing here as you step up in line". You'll feel the need to apologize to them for having them, slowly, do their job. The food seems quality but.... I bought some cookies and when I got home and opened, the first row was half gone! I dreaded taking it back to this place. And for good reason. When I waited at the managers area, a guy asked if I had been taken care of, I think he's the store manager, when I said no he called someone over to me. I explained the situation. To my shock the manager guy was leering at me, not even hiding it. Standing about 4 feet from me with a pissed off look on his face directed at me. Clearly not believing me and letting me know he didn't the whole time I explained. They paid me for the cookies but I'm never going back there. Ta ta, there are other places. read more

Love this grocery store. Caters to ethnicities and that is a great thing 'cause they have great products you can't find elsewhere. Prices are also prett amazing. And don't get me started on the butcher's Uruguayan chorizo, cause I won't stop; tit's that good. Plus, they have great produce and almost every hot pepper you could want. Really awesome. DON'T go to this store, it has the worst costumers service EVER. They are rude and dismissive. I will never beckon the doors again. We dropped by only to get something for a headache and were pleasantly surprised at what we found. This is a small sized store, but it was full of lots of interesting products including beautifully prepared baked goods and specialty foods including many gluten free choices, more than I have seen in many stores. Of course, you could buy all the usual everyday items you need, too. Kudos to the nice man in the parking lot who helps the customers find a spot to park. The area is very lucky to have this gem. Just be careful if you order anything at the appetizer counter as they tend to always give you( and charge you) for more then you ask( i.e. Ask for half pound roast beef and they give you 3/4 pds etc. simple fix tell the guy behind the counter you don't want to go over. What a great store! They have everything I could want at where reasonable prices. Most importantly, they have lots of organic, green, not so common foods. We get yogurt, butter, grassfed milk etc. here that no other store in the area has. I am from Europe originally and love that they carry so many European items. Last Christmas I was even able to buy a Stollen here, a German Christmas cake! I was shocked to find it. It's our go to supermarket and we love it! read more

Good selection of international and organic foods. Everything is a bit pricer since the reconstruction, but we knew that was coming. The bakery is impressive and the sushi chef and baker are very helpful and friendly. The deli guys are friendly too! The produce is average for the East coast. My one complaint is....with the exception of ONE customer-oriented lady, the all-female, all-Latina cashiers chump on gum and speak Spanish to one another while you are standing right there trying to pay for your groceries. This is rude in any culture, but the store is so good that I try to overlook this rude treatment. When not in the mood to deal, I go to Stop N Shop. read more

I recently moved to the area and decided to check out this market for seafood. They have a good selection of various fresh and salt water fish and shell fish. I decided on the sea scallops. What a mistake! I should have realized something was amiss, as all the scallops were the exact same size, as though they were stamped from something else with a cookie cutter. I did a pan sear in thyme infused butter with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, 2-3 minutes per side, and finished with a little dry white wine. I was expecting something divine and melting in my mouth. What I got was a weird "crunch and "squish" that tasted awful....nothing like a scallop...and there's nothing worse than bad scallops. These scallops did not have the striated muscle fibers that real scallops have. I suspect that they were fake, stamped from some other sea creature. I will not return to this store. read more

Different prices at cash register than inside the store and no apology from manager! Do yourself a favor and monitor your checkout. Normally I don't even pay attention to checkout, but this time, accidentally, I looked at monitor and noticed that something was wrong. I bought a bunch of tomatoes and the price at cash register was almost double the price inside the store. The cashier was honest and didn't play any trick - the price of the tomatoes was actually different inside the store ($1.69/lb) and at the checkout ($2.99). The cashier called the manger and he spent enormous amount of time checking the price (I don't know what was there to check, I could see the price even from long distance). Eventually he came back and I asked "Is everything OK?". He replied "Yes", then threw the bunch in the packing area and left without even looking at me. He did not apologize for the mistake and for keeping me waiting. The manager was a Mediterranean type, black hair, black clothes, in early forties, rather a short guy but with huge ego and, needles to say, little respect for customers. read more
