    Goth corsage and boutonniere
    Suejung J.

I wanted a corsage and boutonnière for a Sadie Hawkins style event at a goth club in Seattle and decided to lean heavy into the theme. I requested the "gothiest af" corsage and boutonniere possible and they nailed it. When I called in Val let me know they usually always have black roses in stock and I mentioned liking the darker colors from their "winter chic" bouquet so we had a good starting point to reference. Went and picked them up the day of the event and they were absolutely lovely and we got many complements. I would definitely order from here again, especially if I have a random obscure custom request.

We used Acorn Floral for a corporate event. We needed 21 centerpieces and a larger arrangement for our check in table. I worked with Val to create what was needed. She and everyone at Acorn did not disappoint!

    Ugh, pink flowers.

My husband specifically asked for no pink, because he knows me. Unfortunately, Acorn Floral sent this garish thing. Very disappointed.

Thank you Acorn Floral for the gorgeous "English Garden Bouquet"! My English mum loved them! Beautifully, Artfully created and very much appreciate the care you put into creating it!

    unique orchid arrangement
    Eve H.

This is a repeat of my Google review: Acorn Floral made a stunning arrangement for a client. I gave the florist my budget and told her the type of orchid arrangement I was looking for. She went to the daily flower auction (I didn't even know there was such a thing) and bought a unique pair of orchids and placed them with succulents and branches in a gorgeous pot. I was so pleased with the creativity and personal service given. Best of all, the client was thrilled and said it was "glorious" and the "most elegant orchid arrangement" she had ever seen.

    "Sunny Sunflowers by BloomNation"

Absolute gem of a florist. I ordered online the night before delivery. Not only did they create the arrangement I requested, it was even lovelier than the example online. They provided an email acknowledging my order, another email "Bloom Snap" showing me the arrangement before delivering it, and an email notifying me the delivery was complete. They also called the recipient as I requested so that she could take the delivery (leaving it outside her particular residence is not an option). I am so impressed by Acorn Floral's beautiful arrangements and exceptional service, I will definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend them.

    Sultry moody baroque.

I had just stayed with a friend in Seattle and wanted to send her some flowers to thank her for hosting me. I found Acorn Floral on Yelp and really liked their arrangements. I got a premium order and told them I wasn't particular about which flowers but that my friend is into kind of victorian goth stuff, like super dark red...the person I was talking to then excitedly tells me they just got some beautiful *blood-red* roses in--BOOOM! Exactly! As you can see from the pic, they nailed it. Official review from the design-minded necromancing recipient: "Love the arrangement. Sultry moody baroque." Thanks Acorn!

I didn't know what I wanted, but I knew I needed some flowers to brighten up my home - the new office. Valerie put together an arrangement and it was absolutely beautiful. I plan to send some to my friends who are also working from home.

This is the first review I have ever posted to yelp--that is how happy I am with the service provided by the staff of this establishment. Searching for the elusive "Jewish Wisdom Ball" as a humorous gift for my 92 year-old father (who fortunately needs nothing), it was out of stock everywhere, until it showed up on the gift shop website, on sale no less. I placed my order and crossed my fingers. Within 48 hours I received a cheery message wishing me a "Happy Hanukkah", confirming shipping and actually apologizing for not having mailed it faster in the midst of the busy holiday season! I have since had occasion to contact them again and they are always prompt, professional and courteous. The gift shop is in Seattle while I live in Illinois, yet they treat me as though I am an old friend or longtime congregation member who has been walking through their doors often over the years. Based on this positive experience I intend to continue to support them with future purchases where appropriate. They are the sort of people we need more of in the world today and I can't thank them enough for the manner in which they do their jobs.

I kind of thought you could buy most essentials at the airport, but it turns out children's shoes are not a typical travel need, at least when they aren't being worn by traveling children. Fireworks did carry children's slippers, which caught my eye as I passed, as well as a nice assortment of unique, crafty toys and gifts. Unfortunately, my five-year-old followed me into the store and zeroed in on a tiny, colorful finger puppet in the shape of a parrot. He asked me to buy it for him, and I declined, telling him we weren't getting a souvenir before we even left the airport. He was upset by this to the point of tears, but I managed to get us out of there. We had a wonderful time in Seattle, and to his credit, the five-year-old behaved well the whole trip (and the two-year-old got new shoes). When I saw Fireworks Gallery again by our departure gate, I decided at the last possible second to stop in and get him the parrot. It was one of several Folkmanis finger puppets in a wire basket. I picked it up along with a bunny rabbit and went to check out. There was a short line at the register--I guess this shop gets decent traffic--and by the time I was up, my husband was calling to tell me we were boarding. This is how I paid $36.36 for two finger puppets that cost $10 apiece online. Fireworks got me good, but my boys do love their little puppets, which are soft and cute and well made. The wares here are definitely nicer and less generic than at your average airport store. It might cost you, though, if you wander in there with your kids.

We most recently visited so my kiddo could check out the Dino exhibit. Online/on the website they had mentioned fossil digs so my kid was really looking forward to that. A bit of a bummer since that's the main thing my kid wanted to do! Just 1 star off for that. The husky scavenger hunt kind of made up for it! If you're coming with a kid they'll offer the scavenger hunt & I'd highly recommend it to make the visit more interesting for the little ones! Another note for Parents is that there is a small play area on the top floor. Perfect for rainy days with the little ones. The surrounding University grounds are great to let them run around as well. There is a Starbucks at the Suzzallo Library and bathrooms too if you left the Burke and have a kid who needs to go even after they were prompted a million times before you exited the Burke! There are also tons of food options and a couple small grocery stores nearby. Which is great if you/your group have dietary needs. The light rail station is very close by and many buses drop off / pick up right across the street. Public transit to this location is quite good and I recommend it, especially since youth 18 and under are free to ride.

While the glass art is stunning, it is a relatively quick walk through, and I find that I do not spend a lot of time here during my visits (which can be good or bad). Tickets are not cheap, and it is not the most engaging option for younger children. That said, our kids did thoroughly enjoy watching the live glass-blowing demonstration, which was a fantastic highlight -- we ordered a pizza (took about 10 min, which was perfect timing for us to wait for the next demo and grab front row seats) and were able to feed them during the show. Overall, it is a worthwhile, beautiful stop if you are already in the area and looking for a quick dose of local culture, though families with very young children may want to weigh the ticket price against the short visit time or alternative options.
