We did have a little problem with the original order- but Laurie stepped in and made things right (even after we told her not to worry about it). Customer service is clearly the focus as Pistil- and it's nice to have a local business who truly cares about how happy their customers are. Laurie from Pistil Design's is AMAZING. The moment I saw one of her floral arrangements a friend got for her birthday I knew I wanted her to do the floral for my wedding. My husband and I are both pretty specific in our floral taste, we were doing long king's table for our wedding of about 170 people at Sodo Park and wanted our flowers to compliment the evening. We got together with Laurie and talked through what we were envisioning for the arrangements. We didn't want anything that would look too placed and staged, instead we wanted something that would flow with the table and had a natural element. Laurie blew our mind with what she came up with! She had multiple pieces of clear lucite cut the length of the 3 rows of tables and ultimately built one of the most amazing floral installation's I have ever seen the day of our wedding. I recently ordered a boutonniere and flower girl crown for my wedding. Laurie at Pistil Design was easy to work with and the prices were very fair, especially since she doesn't do the typical cookie-cutter type of arrangements. I chose PIstil as it's very close to where I live. Also, I was quite impressed with the portfolio on their website. My order was very small, but I wanted something really unique and pretty, and I had a hunch that this was the florist to use. However, about a week after I placed my order, I saw that the shop had moved! No worries, though, because Laurie delivered the flowers to me the evening before my wedding. The flowers were GORGEOUS. I walked in to buy flowers randomly off the street. The owner put together a lovely arrangement. She was very kind.

Saw the 2 previous reviews so I ordered from them. Laurie explained that a dozen roses from here would be more elaborate than from most florists, and the price was similar, so I went for it. My wife received the flowers a few hours later and was extremely impressed, posted pictures on Facebook and said nice things about me!!!! What more could I ask for? UPDATE: I decided to revise my review after the great customer service I received from Laurie at Pistil Design. I emailed Laurie to let her know about my disappointment in the flowers not lasting more than two days; she immediately responded, apologized and offered to replace the flowers. While the flowers did not live up to expectations, the level of customer service did. Fingers crossed the next batch of flowers will be better. I will post an update on how long they lasted. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I really like supporting my local community and business owners, so I was pretty disappointed when the flowers I ordered on Wednesday and had delivered on Thursday were dead by Saturday -They barely lasted two days. I would expect more after paying $98. The ordering process was quite simple as I was able to order on line and the flowers looked beautiful upon arrival, they just did not last long enough (and yes we made sure they had water in them). While I haven't yet had a specific need to place an order myself, my out-of-state mother regularly orders flowers for me through Pistil Design given their close proximity to my home and her great experience with this shop. Every single arrangement that has arrived for me has been absolutely beautiful, as well as unique and unexpected. According to my mother because she is ordering over the phone, she usually gives a rough idea of the occasion and the dollar amount she'd like to spend, but then gives the shop the ability to have creative license in their design. Again, I've never been disappointed with the arrangements and they've always arrived thoughtfully and carefully packaged. Pistil's flower arrangements are classic and unique, starting with the container. If you like the standard market or Whole Foods bouquets, you may not appreciate these compact, tasteful works of art. I received one this week and unfortunately, the Hydrangeas wilted after a day or so, possibly from my lack of watering expertise. I don't usually shop at flower boutiques because they are usually overpriced, stuffy and have flowers that are fit to only take to your grandmother. However, I decided to go into this one because it just opened across the street from my apartment building and looked very brightly lit inside and had some really beautiful flowers. It also has a modern look to it, with trendy flowers you don't see at many places. I wanted to start off with something small and practical for my studio and found a cute plant. The owner of the store is very knowledgeable about the plants and flowers in her shop and had my concern of worrying that I would over/under water the plant top of mind (great listener!). She also somehow knew what kind of style I liked and suggested a very modern-looking stone-like pot for the aloe vera plant. The prices are not outrageous and very reasonable (unlike many other flower shops). I know I will be a frequent customer! read more
