I had a good experience. They didn't add any additional charges because I gave them an accurate…read moreinventory. They did everything I contracted them to do. My only grip is the communication was very slow as far as any delays with the driver showing up within the window, however it was the weekend. I did have a conversation about it and the communication was very much improved and when they were on the way to deliver they kept me updated throughout the day. My move was from Atlanta to Florida.

There is not much I can add to the stories of train wreck moves that folks have shared here, but I…read morethought that since my experience just concluded [7/12/26] I would regale all with my personal tale of woe thereby letting everyone know that while some YELP experiences are several years and more old, this company of scam artists still is active and doing the same actions. My experience with Cross Country Movers [aka Moving & Storage SF, aka CCM] began with a pickup that, as many here have attested started a day after originally scheduled. When the "loaders" [they didn't pack, my Son and I did that] arrived they did so with an insane amount of tape and moving blankets which they proceeded to use to wrap furniture and related items with abandon [this didn't work however, as several items were damaged when delivered]. Before they started; however, they informed me that I would owe about 2x the original estimate because the weasel on the phone [name of Benjamine in California] had said I would be paying by weight [which made sense, they are carrying items in a truck] but when the "loaders" got there, I was told I would be paying by volume [what?]. Light boxes take up more space so CCM figures [I guess] this is acceptable and they can make me pay more! Well the truck was loaded [Budget Rent-a-Truck with a paper DOT number taped on it !] and the 'Loaders" left but not before asking for a tip. That was 22 days prior to yesterday's delivery. If you look at the fine print on their contract it says they have up to 30 days to deliver; however, they assured me that it would be maybe a week from pickup to delivery - yeah, right ! Well after the first week, I started calling and texting and calling and texting without result until my delivery was over a week later than originally promised [so roughly 14 days into the 22 days it took]. I was then contacted by someone in Florida name Vanessa, who first told me that the ICC or DOT had found something wrong with the loads on the truck and my load was being "inspected". She then referred me to the 30-day fine print and finally said I somehow got her direct number and it would be "easier to call the main number" so "someone else could help me". Well, that didn't work so I continued to call and text until Saturday [7/11] when I was told that the delivery would finally happen 8 AM Sunday morning [yesterday 7/12]. So, I get up nice and early on Sunday and - you guessed it - I get a phone call from the driver saying that now the delivery would be somewhere between 12 Noon & 2 PM. Right at 2 PM the semi shows up and the driver gets out asking for the final payment before he can do anything and then complaining that his help is late but should be here in 13 minutes [very specific]. Well, this doesn't happen and 4 hours later [and a couple of wall dings from one person carrying what two should be] the load is offloaded with several broken pieces of furniture [despite the moving blankets and tape wrap]. The driver then asks for help backing his semi and my personal tale of Cross Country Movers woe is done. EXCEPT, recall the "you are paying by volume not weight" excuse used to get more money from me? Well, another part of the fine print says that is not the case when claiming damages. Damages are paid on a pound basis [60 cents a pound to be specific] so claiming on a broken piece of furniture nets you far less than the item's replacement cost. To wrap up - one of the reviewers here said that they wouldn't even recommend CCM to someone they hate and I agree. This company should be investigated by whatever government agency looks into fraud because that how I feel - defrauded. My money is gone, pieces of my furniture are broken, my new home has wall dings and CCM is probably defrauding the next individual as I write this.

I usually refrain from writing negative comments unless it's really bad, but I think certain…read moreelements are worth highlighting . Draw your own conclusion. 1. First, with a positive, the follow up and customer service is great. It has to be, due to the following comments listed. 2. Moved a 1 bedroom apt( bedframe , mattress, dresser , 2 TVs , and a sofa), and it took 5 hours , with a locked elevator , in the same building, separated by 2 floors.Everything additional was boxed or bagged. No loose items. 3. They attempted to change the charges the day of the move , even though we had confirmed less than 24 hours prior. Claimed the 3rd person Was due to their double booking, snow , etc . And the additional man would speed up the process . Did i mention this simple 1 bedroom move took 5 hours for an in building, one bedroom transfer? Does that seem expedited ? Everything was a group effort, and teaching moment. this slowed the move down. For example, it Took 20 minutes of discussion to figure out how to disassemble a bed frame efficiently . Constantly going back and forth to the moving truck on the clock ( for what idk ) . If not watched , disappearing for 15-20 minutes at a time . 4. I was advised that I could leave my dresser items in the drawers, and they could move them efficiently. I now have to find someone to take my dresser apart, due to items some how making their way to inside unreachable areas insiders dresser. 5. I have to find someone to reassemble my sofa. They didn't put it back together. 6. You're charged 30 minutes to and from . So, you owe an hour before they start . They didn't have to leave the property, but charged me fuel . How do you charge someone fuel, and time for arrival, and departure ? Seems like the rate is only labor . You're also charged for any items used to rap to transport furniture . The intimation that they try to give you when you book is that is inclusionary. 7. With a discount, A DISCOUNT, this move cost me $1,000. Between the random 3rd man up charge , wrapping items for the large furniture , fuel charge , insurance that they make you cover that they don't disclose until the last minute that is almost $200 additional ... 8. Moved my items into the hallway, and left them there unattended while moving. 9. Even if you pay by phone, they want you to write your credit card information on a random piece of paper. It's a hard NO, for me. Yes, I signed, and let them go about their business. It's exhausting to keep debating obvious discrepancies, and hidden fees during a move which is a top 3 stressor in general. Just .... Don't . Use someone else .

All My Sons Moving - Virginia North…read more This moving company needs to be investigated for fraud or deceptive business practices. I booked my move a week in advance and paid a $100 deposit after being told it would guarantee my moving date and secure my spot. Then, only 3 days before my scheduled move, the manager -- I believe his name was David -- called to tell me they were fully booked for the entire week and that my move would either need to be rescheduled or canceled altogether. I made it very clear from the beginning that my apartment lease ends on the 31st and that I needed to move before then. Had this company been honest about the fact that paying a deposit did not actually guarantee service, I would have hired another moving company much earlier. Now I'm left scrambling at the last minute, despite having everything planned out. I also have to report to work in another state on the 1st, so this has created a major inconvenience and unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, speaking with them on the phone was a complete disaster. The communication was unprofessional, disorganized, and unacceptable. They agreed to refund the $100 deposit, but that does not make up for the inconvenience, stress, and potential consequences this situation may cause me. If I receive penalties from my landlord for a late move-out or face any employment-related consequences because of this company's failure to honor their commitment, I will absolutely be exploring all possible legal and consumer protection options.

They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

It wasn't intentional, but the amount of damage we saw was much more than what I would have been okay with. The furniture and location was difficult however given that everything made it to where they needed to be, I'm sure it could have been done much more carefully. That made this pretty mid tier service. So 3 stars. And that's what we initially put in our review. But then after putting in our claim on damages with ample proof of damages, and also our honest review, my wife received a call from one of the movers asking us to take down the poor review because they would get in trouble with the owners. Now I'm wondering goes on behind the scenes because the good reviews seems much more shady now. How many other reviews got asked to be taken down? They got the move done and did it relatively quick given the difficulty. The price was rather high given the quality of work completed. And given how quick they were to request us to take a poor review down to me deserves an even poorer review. Honestly, if they had taken accountability right away to the damages I would have felt better about a simple 3 star review. I can't in good conscience recommend Zip Moving and Storage.
