Around February 2026, in the middle of grieving a significant personal loss, we had to relocate from Virginia to Dallas. It was already one of the most difficult periods of our lives, and we trusted Gorilla Haulers to make at least the moving process less stressful. Instead, it became one of the worst experiences my family has ever been through. We spoke with Eli, provided a detailed inventory list, and chose Gorilla Haulers based on their online ratings and reviews, as well as the assurance that we would have an experienced moving crew. We trusted those promises. On moving day, 5 movers arrived. We were surprised by how many people showed up, but we didn't think much of it at the time. It quickly became obvious that they were not professional movers. Most of them spent time watching YouTube videos, chatting, laughing, and generally having fun instead of working. They were not taking the job seriously at all. They moved at an incredibly slow pace, and they even admitted that it was their first day on the job. This was completely different from what Eli Jones had told us about sending an experienced crew. What should have been a routine move turned into an exhausting 11 hour ordeal. Boxes were packed with very few items in them, many belongings were packed carelessly, and several items were damaged. Because the crew worked so slowly and inefficiently, they eventually ran out of time, leaving approximately 10-15% of our belongings behind. We were left to deal with the remaining items ourselves after an already exhausting day. To make matters worse, we were charged nearly double what we had expected. Considering the quality of service we received, it felt completely unjustified. Since then, we have completed another interstate move with a different moving company, and the experience was night and day. That move was organized, efficient, professional, and completed exactly as it should have been. It confirmed that what we experienced with Gorilla Haulers was not normal--it was simply unacceptable. I'm sharing this review not out of anger, but in the hope of helping other families avoid the experience we had. We chose this company because of its online reviews, but based on our experience, those reviews did not reflect the quality of service we received. I would encourage anyone considering Gorilla Haulers to look beyond the ratings, do thorough research, and be very cautious before trusting them with your move. One of the founders came to the home and looked through the house. All employees have been straight talking and easy to talk to. We stored our belongings in their warehouse for more than one year. Other than a dollar store bucket, some parts of my jointer (they offered to pay for the replacement parts) and a few furniture dings the contents arrived as packed. My only slight ding is they told me they have semis crossing the country several times a week and it would be their employees. The deliver team though good are from a local company and they are the ones that I believe broke my jointer.

I wholeheartedly agree. Their website was easy to navigate and easier still to create a rough inventory of your belongings (take your time and confirm, room to room. Trust me: you own more than you think.) Once I'd submitted that Charlie reached out to me shortly after and was my point of contact throughout. I was able to make updates and adjustments up to the week of the move and even then I got 2 confirmations, one a day prior and one the morning of the move. A 4-man crew managed to move a 2-bedroom condo and a 4-bedroom condo into a single townhouse with a single truck, 1 trip between each location, and all in under 8 hours. Good men that busted their asses all day and earned every penny of their salary. TMM is not cheap but this is very much a case of quality work coming at an worthwhile rate; sometimes you need to pay more for the best service. You can certainly find less expensive movers but you would be hard-pressed to find movers of a higher quality. Book sooner than later, feed your movers, tip your movers.

Somehow, my friends, who are not professional movers, didn't need to do this. But the professional movers did? And didn't put it back? - were not former Marines or US military. And this one might be the biggest deal to me. Don't advertise that you nearly exclusively hire former military and veterans, then send me an entire team of none. As the daughter of a Marine, I I consider this to be on the level of stolen valor; you're exploiting the veteran status when all you did was hire people off the street. - the management and customer service team won't return my emails or phone calls. Today I'll be calling the Spotsylvania County Better Business Bureau as well as the Fairfax County Better Business Bureau to figure out log a complaint. If you can't complete the business transaction, you shouldn't be allowed to do business.
