On my apartment move-in date, I hired a moving company for less than $1k to move my items from my storage unit to my new apartment. I saved quite a bit of money utilizing Self Storage Plus. Yvonne was very helpful throughout the process. She was very clear on the hours that the office and storage unit were open, what not to store in the unit, how to contact the office, and how to properly close out my storage account. On the day I moved out of my storage unit, I called her from the wall phone button near my storage unit, and she said she'd inspect it soon. A couple of hours later I received the receipt confirming that I've successfully moved out and ended my lease. Even though I was only there for a month, I didn't have any issues and all interactions were respectful and professional.

Unfortunately, the rate went up 2 times within the one year that I rented the unit. The first rate increased occurred just 6 months after move in. I understand the need to increase rates, but such a steep increase in a relatively short period of time seems to be just bad business practice. Luckily, I was prepared to vacate the unit, but otherwise would have been stuck. Edit: In response to Emily, I reached out to management as soon as this became an issue (and before I moved out). I was told the rate increase was firm, so at this late point, interest to address this appears to be disingenuous.
