Everyone is reviewing the alcohol department. (yeah, 5 stars) However, this is a supermarket. The produce is the worse in the area. Every time I pick up something that is not refrigerated, it is molded. The meat department is ok but the reason why the meat is less expensive than other places is the meat is from MEXICO not USA. Don't believe me? You know the 5 Filet Mignons you buy for 26.00....from Mexico. I wonder what else I am buying I didn't know. Cokes are always over priced compared to other stores. (ok ,I like coke) Canned goods are never on sale either. They have a large selection of cheeses but be careful some are aged beyond expiration date. Also, the checkout line is slower than Winn Dixie on Hwy 190 in Covington. People who go to this supermarket go for the alcohol...face it people. read more

I just left this store and will never return since they accused my innocent 6 year old daughter of stealing one of their stuffed animals. She frequently brings her toys into stores and we have never, ever been accused of stealing before. As we walked out of the store, one of their awful cashiers asked if we paid for the toy and I informed her that it was my daughter's. I walked to my car, thinking that was thr end of it. I mean, why ask if you're not going to believe me?? My husband then noticed 4 different cashiers all lined up, watching and waiting for us to leave so they could get our plate number and call the cops!!!!!!!!!! We walked back in and demanded they watch the security camera. Lo and behold, there was my daughter walking in with HER toy. We got no apology or anything...beware of shopping in this store! I was a frequent shopper and will tell everyone I know to stay far away. Such an awful, awful, stressful situation and defamation of our characters. read more

I actually make a point to come here when I'm on the Northshore. My husband and I always do an alcohol/wine run here. The prices are the best anywhere and their selection of wines/beers/liquor is great. The grocery part of the store reminds me of a country store, but still good nonetheless. Parking is always easy too, and I've never had more than one person ahead of me in line to check out. read more

What a great local supermarket. Great booze selection and I bought the best wedding cookies I've ever eaten there. Nice deli, olive bar and even carry Califia Farms almond milk. And all the staff was super friendly and helpful. This would be my go-to supermarket, if I lived in the area. read more

Mr. B and I are running into this fantastic local grocery store all the time, and no matter what time of day, it always seems to be busy. Great place to get inexpensive but quality meat (but not seafood). Really, it's the fantastic cheese selection, stocked olive bar, and expansive wine selection that keeps us coming back again and again. This place just keeps getting better and better over the years. Best selections on beer and wine, meat department is great, and deli is outstanding. I especially like that they cater to the local businesses and you can find all local products in their isles. This is the closest grocery store to my house. Lucky for me it is awesome. They always have what I am looking for. Their produce is really fresh and amazing. My grandmother has taught me how to shop for produce. And ACQ produce always meets the requirements. I asked for buffalo meat once and they didn't have it. The butcher said "check back next time you come in and I will make sure we have it". That they did!! I love their baked chickens and buy one a week at least. It is really easy. There fresh baked goods are pretty good as well. I hear the booze section is to die for. I wouldn't know. But I hear it A LOT! Another bonus that you don't normally get in a grocery store is the service. The people who work there are always super nice and helpful. One cashier entertained my son today while the other cashier checked me out. Very sweet. Just watch out for the old bitty's in the parking lot. They will block the driveway for 20 minutes just to get a front row spot. read more

It's rare that a small town has more than a convenient store in the downtown area. It's great to see a such a good store in Covington. Good service and helpful personnel, and a predictable store layout. Bonus points for an amazing wine selection in the attached liquor store. Good produce too. My only quibbles are the meat and especially seafood options are lacking. Still the best grocery store in the area, and the most convenient by far. read more

Not just a great place to buy beer. They've recently remodeled and enlarged, and this is now a foodie's delight. The alcohol section has the best prices on everything that you'll likely find in the whole state. I'm not exagerating. A terrific cheese selection, a great meat department, and somehow they manage to make the best french bread I've ever tasted. They don't have a seafood selection, but hey, nobody can beat Pat's for that anyway. read more

I live about 45 minutes from this store but make the journey for various reasons. First the prices and quality of meat surpasses other markets including larger store chains. Second- the employees are friendly, helpful and seem to genuinely enjoy being there. Third I am impressed with this store not only employing handicapped people but give them jobs that hold more responsibility than cleaning the bathrooms or gathering buggies. Yes it has an impressive liquor stock almost a separate store itself. It's clean and well organized. It has items that will surprise you. I have found myself going-what in the world???? multiple times. The bathroom is clean and personalized. I make a trip once a month to shop at this store. When I come I have three other people that want to know when I'm going so they can either go or send a list. I spend about $90 on meat and feed five people an entire month. Three are males (one a teenager) with hearty appetites! When I go home to Alabama, I get a shopping list from my family there and take a cooler with me. That's saying something! read more
