Love this location. Food is always good and good. Love the deli made pre packed sandwiches. Wish they made more of the cranberry ones. The store is ahead pleasant and clean. I genuinely love The Fresh Market and shop here about three times a week. I usually have a very positive experience, which is why today stood out so much. Unfortunately, the older cashier with glasses was incredibly rude during my checkout. I was holding several items because I didn't have a basket and politely asked if she could move the basket on the counter so I could set my items down. She ignored me. I began stacking my items to the side until there was space, and she then grabbed the basket and threw it on the ground loudly, which drew attention from other customers. It was obviously an attitude towards me. To make matters worse, while I was entering my phone number, she packed my groceries without care- placing three big glass jars on top of my fresh sushi. By the time I got to my car, the sushi was completely smashed and splattered inside the bag. I understand everyone has bad days, but this interaction felt unnecessarily rude and careless. I truly enjoy shopping here and hope this was just a one-off experience. read more

Best sushi from a grocery store. Very fresh and a lot of options. They do some rolls for $5 on Thursday great deal.

Easily my favorite supermarket. The store has a great selection of fresh foods and some I find at better price and quality than Whole Foods or other large competitors. Everyone from the butcher to the cashier were incredibly nice and helpful. They are located in the same plaza as a Wine Depot and a Cafe DuMonde outpost, so you can get all your dinner part essentials in one place. I will definitely be back to try their fresh foods, including a complete roasted chicken dinner meal for only $25!! read more

UPDATE: the store manager called me and made things right. We still love the fresh market and know mistakes can happen. We love the fresh market (besides the prices sometimes), but my husband went on Sunday 3/5/23 and bought salami. I hadn't tried it until today. When I did, I noticed it tasted funny and not how it normally does. I looked at the date and it is beyond expired!!! I feel nauseous thinking about it. Not a "Fresh Market" more like nasty market with rude staff. First let me say to get me to do a review you did something great or have an amazing product or in this case you have a history of subpar product and / or service and you did something that made me take time out of my evening or weekend to make sure others know how crappy you are. We have shopped at this fresh market on and off over the years, recently weekly, but after today we are going to suck it up and give our money to Whole Foods even though they are a large company owned by Amazon (we try to support smaller companies and local businesses). Tonight, the shift manager Melissa checked us out and when I told her I didn't want a produce item because she dropped it out of the bag and it rolled around the cart which had meat, water, and other various items, she got an attitude and started just throwing items in bags. She then looked at me and stated "when you get home you wash stuff right" very rudely, my reply was "of course I do but I don't want produce that's been dropped and rolling around a dirty cart now. I unfortunately missed that in her temper tantrum she decided to bag my fresh bread with a potted herb that yup you guessed it has dirt inside it, so when the bag moved dirt got on my fresh bread. She also decided to bag frozen items with my salad mix so what happens when lettuce and spinach get put on ice, it freezes and gets spoiled. All because I didn't want dirty cart produce that she dropped. If people wanted produce rolling around and dropped, they wouldn't put it in bags. This store also has a history of overcharging, items not making it home that were paid for. We also in the past year got rotted turkey bacon once and a few years back we got rotted birthday cake. The small things like an item missing or accidently ringing this up wrong I can overlook, the rotted food more than once they got forgiven because when we told the store manager Daniel, he took care of it and sincerely apologized. But ruining 2 bags of groceries intentionally or because you were throwing a temper tantrum because someone politely said no thankyou and they have different standards than you will earn you an honest review and losing at least 2 customers and, in the end, when people handle their businesses that way it wont be just 2 customers. read more

The staff (cashiers) have also been unfriendly on the two occasions I have been there and then having me bag my own groceries since I brought my own bags, which, sure I am capable of doing it but the way the cashier went about it was odd. The Mandeville location, manager Daniel Hoover. If you want to do the work of two people and not get good pay this place is for you! They tout all this fancy this and that but the produce is never washed, just packed out, the deli department is filthy. Cleanliness means nothing and is not enforced. I was traumatized how badly I was treated at that place! Managers do not care about the welfare of their employees. Daniel, Brad walk around flirting with the younger female employees and the older employees get made fun of and treated like second class citizens. The so called produce manager, Cheney, started out as a cashier with no management experience but because Daniel liked the way she looked she was promoted to Produce Manager. read more

The North Shore outlet of this chain is reasonably convenient in its location. For a premium food market though, I wasn't thrilled with the options for a quick and vegetarian lunch, settling on a very feta-heavy salad among the few grab and go-type choices. Their other grocery selection didn't wildly impress me either. What I will say is that they invariably have the fastest and nicest checkout of any food market I've been to, and this location was no exception. So for whatever you can find worth buying, it'll be a pleasant shopping experience. read more

There USDA choice is really just a bit better than other shops, well marbled and properly trimmed. The produce is good as are most items, but it is the meat counter sets the bar high. I'm a fan of the Fresh Market. They have an excellent selection of meat, produce and hard to find items. Their store brand wheat pastas are very good. They have a large selection of prepared foods which are also very good. Their butchers are very knowledgeable and personable. Chuck ( what a name for a butcher) is great. Ask him for recommendations and he will steer (pun intended) you in the right direction. He turned me on to the aged Hereford beef and it was awesome. They also have a pretty good beer and wine section too. They even sell roses so you can surprise the significant other. Its like a one stop romantic shop. Roses, scallops, steaks, booze and desert. You can add vegetables too but that just takes up valuable stomach room that could be filled with beef. read more

This is a cute market a bit like a wholefoods but smaller. As expected there is a nice selection of fresh fruits and veggies and I have gotten good deals here several times. The bakery and cheese sections of the store are the stars in my opinion. The bread selection is extensive, fresh, and reasonably priced. Last night I was in Mandeville and was craving some sweets. I decided to give th e "Whole Foods" location another chance. Their dessert selection was sad to say the least. We ended up going to "Fresh Market". It is a much nicer place. Thier desserst selection was excellent. "Fresh Market" reminds me of how "Whole Foods" use to be before it went global. More of a neiborhood specitalty store. My only suggetions for the location is that they fix up the outside with plants, paint, and better seating. Also they should trim the trees in the parking lot. It is hard to see from the road. We will be back to Fresh Market! read more

Went to Fresh Market for a sandwich. Got to the counter and was greeted by a less than friendly counter guy. I said i wanted the panini of the week - ham, fig and cheese - $5.99 - he said "we don't have that yet - we have the chicken club" assuming he was substituting the chicken for the ham I said sure, ok. Mr. Friendly didn't mention that it was more money. Also, the ham, fig, cheese panini wasn't made yet for the lunch rush - it was 11:45 a.m. and it was the Special!!!!! Sheesh - seems kinda fundamental to me to have it ready to go. That being said - the chicken club panini was very, very good. The traffic in that area is horrible - accidents waiting to happen - beware and be cautious if you are there at lunchtime or after work. read more

For those unfamiliar, don't come here expecting to find all of your basic grocery needs. However, the fresh produce and meats available are absolutely beautiful. The bakery has an absolutely beautiful selection of cheesecakes, bar cakes, pies, and fruit tarts. Pre-made fresh sushi rolls of different kinds are also available- I didn't find these to be as tasty as the identically priced restaurant equivalents. There is also a huge selection of beer, wine, and candies. The biggest issue I found was that traveling the aisles became a real hassle due to the combination of the small amount of space given and the number of people in the store. Ok so this review is about my lunch. It was totally awesome. For about 7.00 I had a buffalo turkey blue cheese sandwich. I only get an hour for lunch so I did not have time to browse. This sandwich was sinful and not safe to eat around others. It was deliciously messy. Turkey breast, purple onions, tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles and buffalo sauce. That was the best sandwich ever. I had buffalo sauce on my hands and chin and I was all alone thank goodness. I will have to sample all the other sandwiches. read more

This was once a much better store but I find that lately they are often out of stock of advertised items. Sometimes the produce is barely stocked. Other times they do not have all of the items for the advertised meals. This week it was corn beef for St. Patrick's Day which was on the website. I went in the day before and they were out but said they would get a shipment. The next time I went in, two days later, there was nothing to be found and they said the season was over . They are losing my business because I can't rely on the availability of items in the store. read more

The Fresh Market is definitely not the store it used to be several years ago. My husband and I were frequent shoppers here, going a few times a week. But in the past few years, they hired some questionable people. And I say questionable because I'm not sure why these types of people would choose to work in retail when they are unfriendly, irritable, and annoyed that they have to interact with customers...or even lift a finger and do some actual work. There is a man who works there that we had never seen until about 2015/2016, or it could have been around 2017. But somewhere between 2015-2017 is when we started noticing him. He never greets the customers and he doesn't even look at them. I'm unsure of the title he holds there (if any at all). The only time he interacted with us was when we accidentally spilled coffee on the floor. He yelled at my husband, saying , "DON'T WALK IN IT!" My husband and I are in our 40s. We are not kids and we did not appreciate being yelled at and treated in such a manner. In fact, no stable person would even yell at a child, particularly if it was an accident. After that incident a few years ago, I stayed away from Fresh Market for almost a year and I was on pins and needles going in there after that in fear I would run into this worker again. I'm even afraid to visit his precious coffee table because he doesn't seem to want anyone to touch anything. There was also another worker there, a woman, who would glare at whomever was pouring coffee. She was also unfriendly and appeared very annoyed at anyone who used the coffee table. Look, either hire better people who have social skills and are more tolerable of anyone who is less than perfect and might spill some coffee---or pick up the coffee table and don't have it. When this incident with that male worker happened to my husband and me a few years ago, I came very close to contacting the corporate office but held back because I thought, perhaps, the man was having a bad day (even though that is no excuse!) and would give him the benefit of the doubt. But I've been in there lately and and it just lacks the warmth it used to have.That male worker is still employed there, at least in September, 2019 he was because there he was ignoring all the customers while he straightened things in the store. He does't realize that the customers are the bread and butter of any retail establishment. Lose the customers and you'll eventually lose your job. The "coffee table workers" are the worst. Perhaps they should find a different job. There are still a few friendly workers there but the atmosphere in the air is different and it's not a good feeling. If you have to walk on eggshells because a worker might scream at you or glare at you for making a mistake, it's time to move on and shop somewhere else. There are just too many other choices out there. read more

The tenderloin I purchased at Fresh Market, could have been pulled better than someone with no experience. It was full of false lean on the flaps and on the tail. I shop here every week and have some ups and downs with it. Ups- a floral selection that has filled our kitchen table, pretty, healthy and properly watered in the store before you buy. A few Organic vegetable items -though pitifully few. Good all-natural soda selections and some chips and other convenience foods that are above the Doritos level of quality. Downs are more numerous-the bakery, butcher and some of the stock people seem pitifully underinformed about service standards and their own section of the store-what it contains, how to portion (one butcher thought that Boston butt and pork roast were the same thing, even though they were clearly marked as priced differently and look very different-another butcher gave me some serious attitude when I asked to smell/look at the chicken breast I intended to buy. NO offense was intended, I just am about to pay for it, cook it and eat it, y'know) The people who ring you up may or may not be alert, able to bag or friendly-we've had very mixed experiences with that part. The bakery foods are, IMO, not safe for human consumption based on the overwhelming list of ingredients even for simple baked goods.
