Being at the Grand Canyon was wonderful and beautiful and just a feeling of wow. Our tour guide, Patrick, was extremely knowledgeable, informative, patient and a lot of fun. He made the tour including lunch on the Navajo Reservation very special and enjoyable. He took us to all the good viewing spots at the Grand Canyon and even helped us get very good pictures. Beware! 9 passengers in the tour van and the driver was exceeding the speed limit constantly by driving 85 MPH, passing semi's! He was also looking at his phone, searching for music while driving 85 MPH in the high speed lane. Sure, he was quite knowledgeable about Sedona and Jerome but, our lives were at risk. We did the Grand Canyon and Sedona day trip tour with Cynthia, our tour guide/driver. The trip was very nice and we learned a lot from Cynthia who is very knowledgeable. It was a very long day so be prepared if you want to go. The seats in the van are small so a large person probably could not do it there were 10 passengers. The passenger seat seats were like this: front row seats-3 across, 2nd row-2 across, 3rd row-2 across, back row-4 across. There was 1 cup holder per row and there was wifi and phone chargers. this was the worst experience ever! from the fact that as a couple we couldn't sit together, to our drivers inattentive driving while on her phone, to the jerking of the steering wheel, to her passing our return stop just because others were in the van longer, it was aweful! If you're looking for a tour guide that takes care of almost everything, I definitely recommend Across Arizona Tours. We had a day to sightsee and didn't want to have to worry about transportation so we booked a tour of the Grand Canyon and they were able to coordinate a pick up from the hotel we were staying at in Scottsdale. We had a female tour guide and she was super peppy, even at our 6am pickup. We rode in a 10-seater and the ride was full but overall, super fun. !!WARNING!! Ride at your own risk!! How does a driver transporting 6 customers consisting break traffic laws, like texting, speeding and passing multiple vehicles at once exceeding the speed limit by 20+ mph. I mean seriously the job of the driver is 100% safety and returning client home safe. It's only a matter of time before this company experiences a major accident and I would venture to say that's why they only run 15 passenger vans and nothing larger, as they would be subject to AZ Bus tour laws which are much more stringent then just requiring somebody to have a drivers license. If you wanna spend time at the major destinations, this is not the trip for you. You get 15-30min at each stop. Seems to me the hustle and bustle of this tour is to get you into the gift shops and or to buy food at predetermined restaurants. I have a lot of pics from my seat as there was no time to stop. See example pic. Do your research , Rent-A-Car, drive to Sedona, pay for a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. I had exactly 1 day to see the sights around Phoenix, and since this tour promised a 1-day trip to the Grand Canyon + several other places to stop at on the way, my friends and I booked this particular tour. I feel grateful we ended up with the only female tour guide at the company as our leader, because her personality added to the entire experience. The majority of the tour took place in a 10-passenger van, so the driver's vocal guide to the sights as we passed was to key to having a good trip. I enjoyed most of the tour guide notes that our guide shared with us. This company offers several 1-day tours, and it was difficult for me to understand the differences between the different tours, mostly because I am not familiar with the area. The price seemed the same for a few-hours tour as for a super long tour that included the big GC, so we went for it. Our driver and tour guide's voice was projected on speakers throughout the van, and it would have helped if she had some sort of auto shut off or easy way to turn the mic off while driving that was tech savvy, because all too often, her thoughts were vocalized to all thoughtlessly as she narrated her trip, not just the professional tour guide notes. This was mostly funny/charming but at times could be distracting/scary, especially when the commentary was about the road, traffic, other cars, etc. This particular trip we took is super long, with sightseeing along the way, only an hour at the actual Grand Canyon, and then driving the entire hours-long return back in the pitch black dark of night along winding roads, with no break for the driver who started in the wee hours of the morning, which is really pushing it for a human being to operate this way. Although I appreciate that we got this trip in and can say we saw the Grand Canyon, I am glad to check that box and now know that if I return in the future I would spend the night there rather than try to return in the same day. I would definitely look at the other shorter tours this company offered. However, the 10-passenger van we rode in had definitely seen better days. Inside, it was fine, although certainly it was not the individual passenger captain chairs as described in the listing. The van was loud and seemed to creak everytime we needed to go uphill, which was an unpleasant experience. I would next time ask the age of the van being offered, as this one seemed too old and in disrepair, and the condition of the car is key to road trip happiness. read more

My roomate And I went on the Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, and Sedona day trip yesterday 9/16/2023 and it was amazing !! Our Driver Patrick was awesome. He wasn't the typical tour guide, but extremely informative on the land, history and culture of the destinations. I liked that he didn't over power the trip and he let the customers (10 of us on the trip ) to experience and lavish in the surroundings, picturesque scenery and talk amongst ourselves from time to time. Patrick was very friendly and professional while warning and pointing out to us about dangers and excitement of the cliffs, and natural beauty of the native plants. Absolutely a great company to book with. I spend the weekend in Phoenix, and wanted to go to the Grand Canyon. I found them on Yelp, I had to call due to being too far away to book via the app. Very courtesy and helpful - no issue at all. I met them at a local hotel where I was allowed to park my car. As they do not pick up at Air BNBs. The guide Sarah was great and was home for a few weeks as she works in China. She was hilarious and very knowledgable giving us the scripted info as well as extra tidbits. She took photos and was a great resource for the restaurant and the canyon. We were incredibly disappointed with our Grand Canyon/Sedona Tour on Friday. We were given VERY little time at both locations. The most time spent was at a Trading Post. A 12hr tour was 90% spent in the van. Our guide was texting and looking up YouTube while driving, while telling us how she wished someone would run over her dead husband's old business partner. There was more that went on but I won't bore you with the details. Our guide let us know that when a "dense" customer complains about her that the company always backs her. It is definitely true, they were defensive and could care less how dissatisfied we were for the significant amount of money we paid. read more

My sister, brother in law and I were in Phoenix visiting family and decided to book a tour. There were only 2 seats left on the van for Monday March 4, 2024. My sister and I went and were greeted that morning by Frank an excellent tour guide and driver for our trip to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. He told us he only does this once a week and I can see why. Long drive but well worth it. Frank had a story about most of the exits and towns along the way. He was very informative and gave a lot of history about the area. Stopped frequently for bathroom breaks and to get snacks. He actually stopped talking when traffic got a little heavy to concentrate on the road. Frank was a commercial photographer and shared tips on how to take great pictures with our phones and cameras. And we got some awesome pics! I would go again and would ask for Frank. My sister and I were planning on visiting Phoenix for her birthday and I booked us a tour with this company. Our flights ended up getting delayed and even CANCELLED due to a system shut down that shut all flights down (look it up on google, it was nationwide). The airline could only give us the next morning flight but by that time, we would miss the pick up time for our tour. I messaged customer care via WhatsApp and email and they said they will speak to the tour operator to see what they can do to help accommodate (refund/voucher etc). Apparently the tour operator didn't agree to any accommodations so I called the director of operations, Carole Stapleton, to see if she could help and she was absolutely RUDE! I told her about our situation and all she said was "that's too bad but since you already paid, we're not going to refund you because it's not our fault, you need to talk to the airline about that". She was not trying to be understanding that the situation was out of our control. Anything I said to try to get her to understand, all she said was "mmhm yea not happening, nope. You can try to do another day or you can cancel but you're not getting your money back". I've never been mistreated and dismissed like that EVER and I certainly don't wish to ever do business with anybody like that. All I was asking for was a refund or some type of voucher so we could use it for something else while we're here VISITING. I felt mishandled, mistreated and very disrespected by Carole. read more

I just completed this tour as a Father's Day gift. Personally, I approved of it because it mentioned Sedona as part of the tour and I was interested in seeing what the fuss was all about. Unfortunately, very little time was actually spent in Sedona, much to my surprise, disappointment and dismay. This was my first tour of this kind. I really wanted to love this tour and speak highly of it. The best I can do is to say that this tour definitely had its pros and cons -- the most salient of which are listed below. Pros 1. Easy van tour for those with mobility issues. I took this tour after just 6 weeks post surgery (to repair a broken hip). I was able to manage just fine. 2. Our tour guide, Megan, was personable, knowledgeable and somewhat entertaining. She was able to provide interesting insights on the various points of interest during most of the tour. 3. Numerous stops for the points of interest - great vistas and lots of time to take pictures. 4. Punctual and organized. Cons 1. Sedona is listed in the tour ad but the stop was essentially a bathroom break. Our view of Sedona was limited to what we could see from the rest stop location. I selected this tour based on the description and was looking forward to seeing a whole lot more of Sedona then what was visible from the rest stop. 2. I enjoyed the Grand Canyon. However, I felt that there were too many stops and that too much time was spent visiting the Canyon especially at the end of the tour when we spent nearly an hour and a half at one of the canyon's lookout sites. By this time, I felt that I had seen so much of the Canyon, I could have done without this last look out stop if that 1 1/2 hours was spent at Sedona earlier in the tour schedule. By this time, I would not have missed this extra stop along the canyon perimeter. 3. Finally, I did not enjoy being followed around in the Navajo gift shop by staff despite the fact that I had to use a walker for mobility. This continuous, pesky annoyance reminded me too much of home - a place I try to forget by going on vacations. read more

Across Arizona Tours as a decent tour company in that the woman who answers the phones was friendly (Customer Support) when I booked the tour and the driver was nice. What was absolutely horrible was the van! The website and Customer Support all said that the van was super comfortable and easy to get in/out of. This is a LIE!!!! The van had zero leg room! My friend and I struggled for 5 hours to get comfortable and failed! The people behind us had the same issue. This horrid design left us all miserable when we got out of the van. To add insult is that step stool they brough along as it was needed to get out of the van without hurting yourself. Several people were old and had difficulty moving around so they had to wait until the driver came around to get out of the van. The driver was OK with providing some basic info on the places we were arriving at while we were in the van but once outside, we didn't offer any insight. I saw plenty tour operators that gave their group a history lesson with great detail...all we got was the driver starting every sentence with "You know..." These failures are unacceptable and I say that no one should ever book a tour with this company! read more

Very manipulative system!!! I found them on yelp and noticed there was a promotion that you could purchase $40 credit for only $20. I thought that's nice, at least I could use it towards my package. I called and was told they had no space. I asked them if they had an opening to call me back and inquired about the price. The woman said it was 150 or 151, can't recall but I could definitely recall that it was not $168. The call was ended and this woman called me back via hours later telling me that two people canceled their tickets and she wanted to know if I wanted to purchase, I got happy and Rightaway asked her how I was going to purchase the ticket and where was I going to meet. She said that she could charge my credit card over the phone to secure the purchase and then I could pay the tour guide tomorrow either cash or with credit card, so I said well I want to make sure that I use my Yelp discount. The woman said i couldnt use it because She already gave me a discount. First of all, when you run a business, u need to know that when you give someone a discount you need to tell the person that you are going to give them a discount, because in reality I had already referred a few other people and told them ur initial states price..... but no, when I called out and I told this woman, whoever she was that was answering the call, she made it seem like she was trying to be kind and wanted to do good. I'm sorry manipulating and giving wrong information and not supporting your whatever the hell promotion you have on yelp is not doing good. If you are literally giving everyone the same price then honey that's not a discount anymore that means that your original price is 151 and the only reason why you mentioned 168 is because you did not know that I was going to use my promotion. Oh and when I called out on her bullshit, she told me that she's not going to take me, Honey, there are so many other ones, you are not the first and not the last, and even if you did take me, I would refuse your services. To be honest with, I did not disrespect you at all and I only called out on ur lie, but it was you who was unprofessional and disrespectful towards me as you actually hung up the phone while i was talking. He picked us up at our resort on time at 7:30 AM and we drove first to Flagstaff. He talked about both present and past....and once he found out I was a teacher he started going more in depth and asking me questions about his favorite stuff in history. It was a personal tour which Leonardo totally adapted to his audience (us). After a short potty break in Flagstaff we headed up to the "GC." Again along the way tons of facts on people, places, plants, things, science.... Leonardo is a wealth of knowledge. He took us to several spots along the Grand Canyon where we stopped first for an hour and a half for lunch/ gift shops/ checking out the killer views.... then we went to several other spots... and afterward we headed to a trading post= thirty minutes for souvenirs and looking at Native American look a likes items for purchase.... then since we were ahead of schedule and the only ones on the tour he asked if we wanted to check out Sedona. OMG you serious!! So we ended up taking a bathroom break/ quick tour of Sedona. We did not get a chance to see stores and shops but we did get to see the mountains (which during the sunset is phenomenal). We did all of this AND he had us back by 7:10 PM.. well ahead of schedule. He asked if we wanted to eat there for dinner.... Leonardo totally went out of his way for us which was awesome. So: from Scottsdale to Flagstaff to Sedona with sights and information all in between. My wife and I took the Grand Canyon, Sedona & Navajo Tour yesterday. Roseanne was our tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the area and sites but had a very difficult time with the microphone. About half of the tour we experienced static and feedback (which is very hard on hearing aids). We missed much of her narration d/t this problem. The ride was uncomfortable as there is no leg room in the van. This tour is a little misleading as we spent only 15 minutes in Sedona at the ranger station overlook. We spent 1 hour at the Cameron Trading Post/Gift Shop on the Navajo Reservation eating lunch. At the Grand Canyon, we stopped at 2 overlooks and spent 15 minutes at each and stopped at Tovar Lodge overlook for 1 hour. We stopped twice for gas/potty breaks. I realize this included 6-7 hours travel time from/to Phoenix, but we were gone from 8AM until 8PM. On the return trip we listened to music. Very long and pricey day for very little actual sightseeing. Would not recommend this tour. read more

This tour has something for everyone! A good mix up of food & drinks. We enjoyed going from place to place, and hearing some history along the way. Helps to get everyone engaged. Where as if you went to one restaurant you'd be stuck next to one person for x amount of time. Changing up the location & atmosphere allowed for everyone in my large group to interact. It was a perfect fit for my team outing with co-workers. I had done the tour a couple years back, and was excited to have my new team come try it out. We visited Scottsdale during the week of 9/09/18 and took the one day bus tour on 9/13. Excellent Tour of The Grand Canyon, Sedona & Navajo with Frank C. as our tour guide. Simply as best a tour bus guide as it could possibly get. Frank was extremely friendly & knowledgeable of every part of the tour as it could possibly ever get explained from the very beginning and until the end; well over 12 hours spent and well worth it. The Grand Canyon was a bucket list trip that will never, ever be forgotten. This trip made our visit to Arizona as the best trip ever taken in the United States and Frank encouraged us to visit other scenic states of Wyoming, Montana and Utah. We would like Frank to also accompany us, although this may not happen, but it is a wish as well as a desire due to his clarity of speech and his knowing how to communicate with every one involved.
