Backstory: After being burned by our previous GC who abandoned and stole our money on a large Home Expansion and Casita new-build, I assumed the enormous responsibility as a "learn as you go" GC to get the job done for my family and find my own subs. Bid Process: I inquired about five concrete/foundation company bids and while price was important, we also knew we wanted someone that would be: - Extremely reponsive - Help us trouble shoot items we may not be aware of - Take pride in their work and this they serve - Owner inspects the work of his workers (better yet if they are there at each phase) - A small business and not just a large company that may treat the job as just that...a job. Our experience thus far with Max (the owner along with his wife Nicole) has met and exceeded all of the above. While they were not the cheapest bid they were BY FAR the BEST VALUE with all the extra guidance, support, and attention to detail Max has provided. I also love that Max is easy to talk to and has a lot of experience which he love sharing in an educational way. Another huge difference we encountered in the bid process is that Max's bid came with footing recommendation (if you don't have plans) and his bid was way more detailed in the scope of work that would be completed. Way more professional than emails or standard invoice with a price on it...(come on "other guys") We can't wait to post some finished pictures but wanted to share how happy we are with them. Spent a lot of money with ACS, They coated over 1200sf. Tried to get warranty repairs. They went radio silent. Max and Nicole are nice enough, but the quality of the work is fair at best. Lots of irregular surface marks. But more troubling is the coating started to bubble up after only a few months. I repeatedly tried to get them to come and repair. No response. read more

ACS completed my pool deck, patio, and surrounding area last week. After interviewing with five companies, I decided to go with ACS. I got ACS contact info from nextdoor.com and went to the neighbor's house to actually look at the work that he had raved about. Am VERY happy with the outcome. Max and Nicole were responsive, with Max coming to the job site (almost) every day. I had a huge crack in the back patio area, and you cannot even tell it's there any more. The only (very small) negative was that three of the covers for the water sprayers went missing during the job and were never replaced, as promised. BUT, this is minor...I will need to get myself. Not a big-deal. I'll be using ACS in 2-3 years for the maintenance coating upkeep for the patio and deck. read more

This has to be one of the most hassle-free contractor experiences I have had. From initial contact, consultation, estimate, through final execution, the ACS team was responsive, professional, reliable, and just a pleasure to work with. The resurfacing job I requested spanned all of my exterior concrete surfaces -- porches, walkways, and driveway. The husband-and-wife team of Max and Nicole responded quickly, and Max came out for a consultation within days of my phone call. I ultimately interviewed three different concrete resurfacing companies, and ACS' price was in the middle of the range, but both Nicole's and Max's down-to-earth and no-nonsense approach, and the way they communicated with me, gave me the confidence I needed to select ACS. Once I accepted the estimate, we got the contract signed on the same day, and waited for the weather to clear for the work to begin. Surely enough (and thankfully the weather cooperated), the ACS team showed up as scheduled, and work got underway. The foreman, Will, was another key player -- he has twenty-some years of experience doing this work, and most important of all, was very willing to explain patiently every aspect of the job so I knew exactly what was happening from day to day. Max also checked in at regular intervals with Will and me so we were all on the same page. Will was very meticulous - he took time to do fine detailing along every edge and surface, and he double-checked and followed up on his crew's work so there was consistency throughout. The job was tougher than anticipated, but Will and his crew kept at it, and produced a beautiful result. I also very much appreciated that they showed up on time every morning, and planned their work so that the noisier activities would begin only after 8:00 or 8:30am to minimize disturbance to my neighbors. One neighbor confirmed with me that the crew was wonderful and did not create any problems at all. I debated about writing this review but decided in the spirit of yelp, it's important to share my customer service experience with those interested in seeking out ACS. I was in the process of getting quotes from several businesses for my home floors. I considered both wood laminate and polished concrete. All of the businesses I interacted with were professional and timely in their response, even if they were unable to service my request. Well, all but one, ACS. Max took the time (and my time) to come out to my home to speak with me and my husband about our intended project on a TUESDAY. He certainly seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He told us about himself and how he's been in the business for a long time. He also told us he'd email me a typed up quote by the end of the next weekend, which gave him 5 days. When I didn't hear from him, I sent a friendly text as a reminder on MONDAY evening. He replied he'd have it out to me the next morning, which would have been an entire week to get me a quote. The quote never arrived to my email inbox. I understand life happens. Perhaps something came up which prevented Max delivering on his promise of a quote. But overall, how difficult is it to text or call an interested client that the job isn't a good fit for the company for whatever reason? This story does have a happy ending! We recently had our patio area "refaced", "resurfaced". Max and his crew did a beautiful job. It was an interesting process but so much better than demolishing all the concrete as it really just had some cracks and since we had painted it several years ago the paint was chipping off so it didn't look very nice. The crew were very organized and cleaned up after themselves each day that they were here. We are very please with the outcome. Thank you to Max and his crew (don't know their names but appreciate their time). I will mention also that this was done during our crisis (Coronavirus) social distancing was practiced and very little interaction as it was an outside project, the guys checked in and then just did their work. Now at least we have an inviting space to sit and enjoy our backyard during this crazy time when we have to pretty much stay at home. Thank you again, I highly recommend. Unreliable! Nicole from ACS Concrete made an appointment with me for 1 pm on 3/14/21. No show. After 1:30 pm, I called her and she gave me a lame excuse that she tried calling me but had the wrong number. She used my telephone number several times before to get hold of me. This is an indication of their unreliability. I don't plan to use them. read more

We wanted to replace an old deck with a concrete patio that would wrap around our pool. We wanted to make sure that it blend in with the existing stone around our pool. The customer service at ACS is great! It was well over 100 degrees outside when they poured our outdoor deck. That temperature made the concrete cure much faster than normal and created some problems. Max never hesitated to come back, twice, and remedy the problems. The deck now looks fantastic! And to cap it off, he brought 6 of his crew back to help me reinstall our outdoor kitchen island (over 1000#) on the new deck. We are very pleased to have used ACS. read more
