Action asphalt paved my driveway 4 years ago. Contract was for 2.5" of asphalt. The asphalt is failing in numerous places. I called and left messages almost 3 months ago. No response. I just had repair work done, learning that the asphalt is on more than 1" In many places. What a disappointment! Oct 10, 2018. We need some warranty work done on an expensive chip seal job. After several calls and time spent Patrick told me he will come out in the Spring 2019 and take care of it. I'll modify this review once I find out how the work comes out. _________________________________ Modified May 15, 2019. I'll modify again if things work or not. Our driveway looks like a gravel driveway with loose gravel on the entire surface. It is supposed to be a solid chip seal surface. The last layer was tan gravel to match our surroundings, however it did not seal, since it was dirty gravel in the first place and not washed properly. I am still waiting for Action Asphalt to follow through on what they agreed to. John, one of the owners, told me they have a big job elsewhere and won't be able to do it until July. During the same conversation he told me he did not think it was their fault, and it is the first time he has heard about it. However, I notified them of the lack of bonding of the gravel twice the first year and 2 more times after that. That first year, John told me to give it time to bond. They also told me if there were any problems they would take care of it. I hope they do. It was an expensive job. ____________________ 8-27-19 More phone calls, more excuses from John and Patrick. I am very unhappy with the work done by Action Asphalt. I had my parking lot repaved this spring to correct a drainage problem. Despite my repeated concerns when they were doing the work, they did not grade the surface properly so that the water would run off. It took months of weekly phone calls and the threat of legal action to get a crew out to "fix" the drainage by cutting a crude trench across my lot (took them 20 minutes). A nasty half-assed "repair". Then they told me they could come back next spring to seal the trench and I could call them then. Are they kidding? I have wasted countless hours calling them. I'm through dealing with them and I'll finish the "repair" by applying sealer to the trench myself, before winter. It's a shame they didn't do the job properly the first time. A large crack opened across the driveway within a year of installation. I called Action Asphalt, they really could care less, told me they'll come to check it out on two months, I am not holding my breath. They don't stand behind their warranty or work. Disappointed. read more

These guys got after it. They care about their work. Our parking lot got a complete new coat of asphalt and looks great.

I was looking for a company to pave our driveway last year. These guys replied immediately and came out the same day to give us an estimate. They said we needed to accept their offer that day. We had done some research and felt it was ok and went ahead with the agreement to pave 3000 sq ft of driveway for $8300. A whole team of guys and equipment came a few days later and did the job in about 4 hrs. The driveway has done well but began to chip where it was meeting our concrete walkway. It is still under warranty as we did our work 9/2019. I called the company 3x and spoke with Martin Croughin. Each time he'd say he'd come and take a look in the afternoon. He never came, never called to reschedule. What a coward. He couldn't even say his honest opinion and just kept giving me the run around. Don't do business with these morons. They come over running when they want to prey thousands of dollars from you but don't respect their own contracts and don't do follow up work. read more

I got an estimate from Patrick w/ Action Asphalt at 9am and after a short negotiation on price, we had an assume deal. The crew was on site between 10 and 11 that same morning. They broke out an old concrete slab, leveled the ground, and installed over 6,000 sq ft of asphalt by 3pm! I was truly amazed at the professional work and crew they have! After agreeing to a chip/seal driveway rework, things started smoothly. Then, they asked if they could trim a couple branches on some trees so they could shovel stone under to finish off that edge of the driveway. I agreed, with the stipulation that only branches (and I pointed to specifically 3 people on the team, including the foreman, the person who set up the contract and one of the workers) very low, about 1 1/2 feet above ground level could be trimmed, and specifically that nothing above those branches was to be touched. So, what did they do? They cut back all the branches up to 6 feet above ground and took off more than 6 feet of the bough spread, leaving trees with stumps for limbs and destroyed the entire aesthetics of the property. It is the first thing I see each day as I leave the house and the thing I see each evening upon my return. I wish they never had set foot on my property. Their paving work was fine, but the loss to me is devastating. They gave a measly $500 discount for their damage. read more
