Before you eat here, check out the reviews of dissatisfied customers who have gotten sick from eating here and received under-cooked, inedible food. Looking at the pictures, the food looks like death, I can imagine the health of the people who eat that crap everyday. Yikes! Make sure you all do a parasite cleanse. My review is based off of first impressions. I walked in out of curiosity, I'm not much of a gamer but do enjoy arcade games once in a while. I wasn't expecting the place to look So low budget and tacky with small screen tv's on the side of tables and amateur interior decorations. The entrance is well lit compared to the back area but I didn't really get a chance to explore because was immediately turned off after asking a question about the process to play games. A man behind the counter was rude and responded with an arrogant tone by asking me "what do you mean? You order your food here...." I wasn't interested in eating there that is why I asked about the games, I have a low tolerance for people with bad attitudes and from reading other reviews, I'm guessing this guy was the owner , which is the most unfortunate part because he is uptight and lacks business professionalism. NOTE to owner: If you're having a bad day, too bad you're the face of the business, fake a smile and polite manner so that customers come back and recommend you. With that being said, I was out of there in 5 min. Haven't returned since. Honestly if you care about your business, then you should be more respectful to people who come in asking questions. The flow of the space is confusing and not at all obvious so his tone was beyond unprofessional and unnecessary. I guess you don't want any new customers. Bottom line, this place is for hardcore gamers who don't care about their bodies and/ or their health. If you love comics, video games, sci-fi, good burgers and friendly people, Action Burger is where its at! My first visit was three weeks ago. My brother, wife and I split a bunch of items on the menu. I had the Super Villain burger, onion rings and shared a colossal hotdog with everyone. Needless to say the food was better than expected and my burger was really well seasoned and flavorful. If you like arcades, this place has a decent one with one of four machines set on freeplay. I really felt my childhood nostalgia playing Super Dodgeball and watching Return of the Jedi playing in the background. This place is really fun and the food is very good. The food was good but there was one thing that bothered me. I didn't get a fork for my fries but another guy received two forks. I had to ask for a fork. Now some of you reading this might think this is petty but I disagree. I had no napkins at my table. The owner served me and I believe he should have been more aware of what was no on my table. Call me old fashioned, but If you have a food delivery service you should actually deliver the food. Based on their attitude, the owners of this place seem to think that's a courtesy rather than a part of doing business. My food took an hour and a half to arrive (estimated time: 30-45 minutes) and the order was incomplete. The part of it they actually bothered to bring was soaked through with grease. It took me over an hour and a half to get my burger and fries delivered, even though I live about 5 blocks away. The food was freezing cold, soggy, and they added pickles to my burger even though I explicitly asked them not to. The manager was inordinately ride over the phone and offered no apology, I will never go to this place again! read more

I just received an order I placed via GrubHub and they sent everything cold and soggy and separated - IE: cheesy bacon tots - I had to assemble and heat all my soggy food. Very disappointing especially since it's not a $5 fast food meal. read more

Ok, so let's establish a couple things. According to a few people, the delivery leaves something to be desired. I don't doubt that. But you know what doesn't travel well? Burgers. (Ever ordered delivery from Dumont? Shit takes an hour and the burger suffers. And NO ONE can say Dumont doesn't have a wonderful burger.) I got take out here and it was spectacular. It was a tad more expensive than I was used to for a burger, but the quality more than made up for it. The seasoning was great, the roll was tasty, and the ingredients were obviously of a high quality. Yes, a bacon cheeseburger was $9, but it was a really good bacon cheeseburger. I'm okay with paying an extra buck or two for quality. And this place specializes in quality. Also, the fries are phenomenal. ALSO, free video games. If you're looking for a good, fast burger with high quality ingredients, look no further. And they have free Street Fighter. It's worth the trip for multiple reasons. And seriously, the burgers are fucking good. Speaking as a once and future fat guy, you won't regret eating here. read more

My son and husband couldn't wait to try this place. They arrived at 11:50 and the place wasn't open yet even though the sign said 11:00. They walked around the neighborhood for 20 minutes or so and came back., Still not open and no sign of opening any time soon, so they left. I had a burger at the restaurant itself the other day, and while it was tasty, it took over 20 minutes to receive my order, even though the place was not crowded. This didn't bother me so much, and I had a generally good impression of Action Burger... Until I ordered delivery from them a few days later... I Ordered a burger at 7:00pm. It arrived at 8:30pm and I was only six or seven blocks from the restaurant. I work in the food service industry and have used seamless on the business end myself and can't understand how one cheeseburger and an order of fries could take well over an hour to get to me, even on the busiest evening... I hope they work out their delivery issues for their own sake. If they are that busy, they can probably afford to hire additional delivery people. It's disappointing, because I love cheeseburgers and had high hopes for Action Burger. Stop in for a burger if you really want to try this place, but DO NOT order delivery from them unless you like lukewarm food in the temperature danger zone... read more

4 stars, not because I think this is one of the best burgers ever but it is really good for the price and I'll definitely come back. Had the AI (turkey burger with kimchi, american cheese and sprouts) and it was super tasty. They definitely put some good spice in their turkey burgers and I think I'd even enjoy it plain. BF had the Kaden burger (turkey burger with beef inside, onions, cheese and sauteed mushrooms). It was good too but they don't mention on the menu that this burger is GIANT and ridiculously messy so beware. Is Kaden a giant in comic books? Maybe if I read them I'd be clued in. Also, they have mozzarella sticks for $4. Def coming back to get those! The atmosphere was a little strange. Reminded me of a nerdier version of Clerks but in bright yellow. There seemed to be a stream of odd characters that knew each other coming in, playing arcade games and chatting. Either way, I hope this place does well. Got a burger, fries and an order of chicken wings. The bun had no flavor. The burger had a poorly seasoned rotting meat flavor that wouldn't go away. The wings were full of broken bones as if the chicken had been beaten to death. The fries were... okay. There were a couple of foul smelling men just hanging out, never actually ordering. This place could and should be an amazing place, but it's not. The food is decent. The menu is huge and complicated. But the people who work there and hang out there are just horrible. Free video games is awesome, but I went for food. Place is crowded, yet on one is eating food. The cashier doesn't seem to interested in taking my order. I waited way longer then it should take to make a burger and fries. No orders were coming out of the kitchen at all. The place is an absolute mess. It's cluttered with junk and wires hanging all over. It's like I'm at some weird stoner's home waiting for food. Since there was no place to sit because all of the people not eating took up all the seating, I left with my food. By the time I got home, which isn't far, the fries were a greasy clod blob. They went into the garbage. The burger was good, over priced, but good. Looking at the experience as a whole, it was a horrible disappointment. I also ordered a double waffle villain which was good but not the fact that it was only one waffle but I paid 12 dollars extra for a double that I did not get. It's a chill environment and the perfect place for a late night craving (munchies). The Mac and cheese burger is phenomenal. The Mac and cheese nuggets are great. THE HENNESSY WINGS THOUGH...BOMB. I feel like they have everything you could want minus pizza. My boyfriend likes to play the video game while we wait for the food. There's always been a group of gamers when I have visited. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Let's just say, be prepared to relive your childhood and you don't even have to be a video game or comic book nerd. My 13year old niece had her birthday dinner here and the staff was truly great. The environment was friendly with a neighborhood vibe. Friendly service and even the regulars chatted with us as we talked about the movies. The kids were having a blast. This is all before we get to the FOOD. Oh THE FOOD was amazing. The burgers were big, juicy, flavorful and savory. Although they were huge, we finished them. The sweet potatoes fries... Oh la la. Oh and the milkshakes... Let's just say the kids said they were better than Shake Shack! But back to the food, you can tell the food was freshly made and not something that was sitting waiting to be reheated. The TV played different movies which captured our attention throughout the meal. If the movies don't make you loose focus, there are ample games to keep you company. The place maybe small but if feels like you are in the basement of your best house and you're hanging with her older brothers. I can't stress enough how inviting and accommodating the staff was. So.. I've been here quite a few times and I've only had my first bad experience today. The burgers here are awesome the appetizers and other food are decent. But the customer service on this particular day was terrible. Usually when we go there is a taller guy or a lady working the counter who are both quite friendly. Today there was a shorter guy and the service was unacceptable. When another group came in he would bring them drinks and their food right to their table. He was also extremely courteous to them however he called us to get our own drinks and food. I'm not sure if he thought we were talking about him or just had some other problem with us but we were surprised with the lack of friendliness that we would normally get here. I will continue to eat here because the food is great but I hope the customer service from the employee we encountered today will improve. It definitely soured our mood at action burger today :( read more

Believe the hype--this wonderful geek paradise combines the very best of '80s nostalgia and classic burger goodness. I can spend a lot of time talking about the gorgeous comic atmosphere (complete with reading copies of the owner's own comics at each table), but let's get down to the amazing food. Action Burger provides both "hero" (health food) and "villain" (the other juicy stuff) options. I ordered a unique creation (the Jaden Burger) that combined a turkey burger with a beef burger (the beef was stuffed in the turkey!), and this was some of the tastiest, juiciest meat I have ever had in a burger establishment. The portions are HUGE, and you will never walk away hungry. I also ordered sweet potato fries, which were just delicious, and the owner served up a custom condiment of sweet chili which made each fry better than the last. More unique menu items are being added constantly, which makes for must-repeat visits. Go get some action! Lastly, I visited from California to come here, and the 3,000-mile trip was worth every mile! read more

Have not tried delivery but they have a fun little shop where I can eat burgers while watching movies on their too-nice-for-a-burger-joint flat screen TV. This place is a breath of fresh air in a pretentious-and-getting-moreso neighborhood. The prices are VERY reasonable, in my opinion. The burgers are pretty big and the sides are good portions and just a few dollars. It seems that many other posters are complaining about delivery times, but as I have been there a few times now, there's just one delivery kid - yes, KID, and he is running his butt off trying to get things out quickly. I haven't had delivery, mainly because I am capable to walking 10 minutes to eat something, so I dont know how true this is. Anyway, the food is good, and the owner Steve is a pleasure to talk to. Yes, I am a minor geek, but he's a friendly person and I wish him the best of luck in the area. eh..this was a delivery experience. they took WAY too long. like it was kind of absurd, and I had to wander around looking for them for a while too, but that's understandable given my buildings and whatever. The food though, wow. When they say guacamole they truly mean it, and asking for that on a sandwich is like asking for an additional patty made of avocados which are not mashed well enough and often still appear in significant chunks. The "action power" (?) is pretty tasty, but the entire experience can be summed up in one word - soggy. the burger was barely hanging together in our hands, and the fries we got were cold and equally as soggy. The burger didn't actually *taste* bad, but it just was an unfulfilling meal over all, not at all aided by the indecipherable names of the meals one is attempting to order. sucks, these guys have a load of potential, and were considered ahead of their time by a lot of locals under their former moniker "Comic Burger" (if they are affiliated) at an older location, but they've gotta step up to the heroic standard their going for. who knows though? I don't understand what happened here. About four months ago when my friends and i found this place, we were in heaven. The food was good, they had a lot of crazy combinations. The owners were fun, friendly, guys, who seemed to enjoy comics, movies, and toys. And the decor put me in full geek mode. they have 80's vintage toys, vintage comicbooks. they even had local artists stuff on the wall. 2 of the artists were local high school students They promised game nights, video game tournaments, comic book clubs, and movie nights. Now here we are four months later and the place has gone to hell. The owners are never there anymore. the 2 girls behind the counter know nothing of comics, toys, or video games. They act like they don't even want to be there. And the decor has changed completely. i mean a total 180. all the vintage toys are gone. all the comic books. Everything! and it's all been replaced with stuff that who ever put it up, clearly doesn't know anything about comics, toys, or what fanboy/ geeks like. Even the local artists stuff is gone. Why? What happened? I feel this may be the death knell of this once great geek haven. if the owners who are never there anymore don't care enough to put in the time and run the place right, it's pretty much over. bad customer service + lame decor = death of a restaurant. read more

I would strongly caution even those I fundamentally dislike to ever, ever go to Action Burger unless they enjoy feeling as if they have eaten something furry and disgusting for hours afterwards. My parter and I stopped in for a snack primarily because the place is patently absurd, and we thought that no matter what, you can't screw up chicken wings or a burrito that badly. We have never been more wrong. As for the burrito, it continues to boggle my mind how thinking of something that tastes mostly like nothing, which has the texture of gummy baby food, and is oddly monochromatic (brown) despite the plethora of alleged ingredients, can still make my skin crawl hours later. We each had a bite, and after excessive dousing with hot sauce, attempted a second one and then gave up and threw it out. One was enough. While not quite as foul (sorry) the chicken wings, which supposedly were aggressively seasoned, more or less tasted like eating greasy air. Again, in the garbage. this place was amazing. a group of friends and i went to celebrate a few of our birthdays. the staff was great. they were very friendly and tolerant of us, haha! the food was AMAZING. i had a chicken pretzel burger and mozzarella sticks, and they were to die for. alcoholic drinks were delicious, as were the milkshakes! the decor is very homey and very nerdy. as soon as you walk in its fun, and the fact that they have retro games and guitar hero makes this place complete! its a very chill atmosphere. definitely want to come back. thanks for having us, action burger! read more
