This place is small, but mighty. Let me explain. The servers were super nice. The music is very upbeat. The drinks were excellent and the consistency in taste...it's key. Additionally, the drinks are not extremely sweet, this is rare nowadays since all we consume is basically sugar. I originally was looking for some burgers and already had one in mind that I wanted to try. To my surprise, they couldn't make burgers at the time, something was broken. So I settled for hot dogs and fries, I wasn't disappointed at all. Any one who knows me knows I'm very finicky about how fries are supposed to be but these were perfect. Kept telling me he's seen me at the bar earlier that night already, when I had just stepped foot into the establishment for the very first time. It was super cold the night we came and there was one table open but a couple was making out hard core at the one next to it and well, we didn't want to intrude on them. I came here on a Wednesday late afternoon for happy hour. I heard their drinks are strong and the prices were decent. The drinks were strong! I had a beer and a tequila lemonade. Spidey senses tingling! They're friendly here, maybe a little too friendly...I went here with my girls a few weeks ago and the owner kind of creeped us out. My roommate got a free shot for posting an Instagram story, and then the account followed right away and starting liking all her pictures. We left and then came back that night and Idk if he recognized us or what, but he brought more shots to the table and kept hanging around and getting too close without a mask ion! Seems kind of a ploy to get people to use their social media to get free stuff if you skeeve out on their feed after. This place is costly. I went this past weekend, and a tequila/ soda is $14, and they serve it in plastic cups. If you are going to charge me $14 for a well drink, at least make it look nice or serve it in a nice cup. The staff here set the gold standard for personalized service during a pandemic! We came in on a whim this Friday night, enticed by good music and an interesting name. Nothing however could prepare us for the level of service that we were about to receive! Hector - the bouncer/host extraordinaire - was on top of his game. He kept us all laughing, kept the crazies out, and ensured that the lines remained socially distant both to order drinks and go to the bathroom. The tipsy version of me tried to be cool and spice up the barcrawl a bit by asking my friend to pick a drink based on bears... Grizzly, Polar, Brown, Koala... she went with "Arctic Fox". Oh jeez. What had I done? I relayed my quandary to Holly and Nicholas, who suggested a frozen Painkiller without skipping a beat. My friend loved her drink and I came out looking like a hero. Sweet!!! When I told the story to the bar manager, Girsal, he really went out of his way to make us feel even more at home. He explained the story behind the name of the bar and treated us like long lost friends. Sure, the drinks were great. But what really stood out to us was the way the staff made our night extra memorable. Of the half dozen or so bars that we stopped by on Friday this was the clear winner! We'll be back soon! I walked by two weeks ago and was invited in for a free shot from the owner and just the brief conversation I had with him, you can tell cares so much about the establishment and is extremely hardworking. I've been back 3 times since for the absolutely incredible gin lemonades and crispy af French fries. I ordered the Bushwick burger with fries, and it arrived nicely packaged in a plastic container within a large paper bag with ketchup and napkins. The fries and the bun were soggy, but the true disappointment was the meat. The burger had ZERO flavor! It reminded me of the plastic-wrapped reheated cheeseburgers from my high school cafeteria. We did meet with the owner to let him know that the food was amazing. I was actually planning to come here for one of our moto events.
