My husband and I were on our way to Maryland and on our way our tire starts rumbling , not a good feeling!! So my husband pulls over on a safe place on the highway he says we have a flat!! Great !! he has an electric pump to get us off the highway and I looked to see how far a Walmart was, I said only 4 minutes from the exit. Great so we followed the directions and to the left is a tire place. we pull in my husband goes in and the guy takes care of us right away . Puts our spare tire on for us and checks the other tire. Brought my car in because it had issues where the brakes wouldn't register sometimes and when the car was off the back taillight was still on. Took them about 2 weeks to "fix" and when we got the car they said oh yeah we replaced a tire because one was "faulty" this was strange because we replaced the tires on that car not even 3 months before that convo. But i kid you not the main issue wasn't even fixed. They had us pay $770 for that repair so we sent it back this time i'll give them a point because they didn't charge again. But i'll take that point back because a week later they still didn't fix it. read more

Took my car here for the last few years, had no issues, or so I thought My BF's car had been sitting & we got it towed here to get it looked at to see what needed to be done to get it running. They said the amount of work that would need to be done would have cost more than the car was worth. They were only charging $55 for the diagnostics which it thought was great. Owner said he knew a guy that might come look & make an offer to buy it. A week or so went by with my BF reaching out a couple times to check since we didn't hear back about the guy. I reached out & said I was getting worried about it & wanted to hold onto the title (they had asked us to bring the title in) until the car sold & could look into other places if the other guy wasn't interested. They did a complete 180 & demanded the car be off the lot that morning & that no one was going to buy "your blown up car". I was shocked considering there was no issue with it there when the other guy was going to come take a look. I told them I couldn't get it out right then, I was on my way to work. They then back tracked & said we were "no worries" & they've worked hard to go against the stigma of cash grab shops & wanted us to trust them. I found a buyer the same day (Wed) who was going to pick it up Sat. I went in to get the title & key that Wed night. They chatted about the car we bought from a place they recommended once we found out the car we there was no good, I paid the $55 for the diagnostics, he mentioned his guy still might come look at the car the next day (Thurs). I said I had a buyer & they could come Sat to get it. They said the car would be a liability being there until then (again, totally fine w/ it sitting there when the other guy was coming). I told them I would try to get it out sooner. I contacted the buyer to come sooner & he said that he could if he got a cancel on another. I told him please let me know right away & I'll make it work. I was looking into other places that might make an offer w/ pickup same day to get it out earlier. Friday around 2pm Nelson's calls & says the car will be impounded in 15 minutes. No previous warning! When we spoke on Wed they never said they were going to impound it if it wasn't out by such & such day/time. As mentioned, they had no issue with it sitting there when this guy they knew was going to look at it. I begged for 1 more day & reminded them the buyer was coming literally next day. They refused to budge & said "you think you can do whatever you want". Out of nowhere & uncalled for. I WFH on Fridays & rushed over. I had to pay for a tow to get it moved, when, again, it would be gone next day. I called the police at the recommendation of who I called for my tow, if the impound tow came & were going to try anything. The officer went in to talk to them & they said I can leave it there until 10pm. They knew the buyer was coming the next day so that wasn't helpful. Officer said they were going to waive their $35 a day storage fee (never mentioned until then). Now I think the "guy" that was going to look at it & Nelson's were going to try to scam us. They were cool until I wanted to hold onto the title & had a buyer. Didn't care about keeping my business. I would have been none the wiser & continued to take my car there for service if they hadn't done this. I never thought this was a cash grab shop until this, now I know. Just look at their comments on other negative reviews. I guess I'll get a rude one too. read more

Got a flat on Wednesday and after sleeping on friends couches and getting the run around from every other tire place in the area a 2 minute discussion and 40$ later I'm able to get on the road back home. DO NOT COME HERE! UNETHICAL SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES! I towed my car in with 2 flats and rob told me over the phone that the other 2 were low as well and that he would cut me a deal and give me 4 new tires for 80 each. Which I thought was a great deal so of course I said yes. Cashonly, of course. Picked up the car and 2 weeks later I take it to the mechanic and they tell me the 2 tires are 7 years old, dry rotted and falling apart. I go back to Rob and he tries to tell me I bought 4 used tires at 80 each. Then his story changes and he says he only changed 2 tires for me and the older 2 were mine. Said he was going to pull the phone recordings to try to scare me into backing off but I know what he told me and he told me 4 new tires for 80 each and I tell him to pull up the recordings. Of course he says he's not going to because he knows exactly what he did. Rob, if you're reading this, karma's a bitch. read more

Shane at Action Tire is great! On 30 minutes notice near the end of the work day, he agreed to put two new tires on my car that I didn't even buy from him. I spent less than 20 minutes in the waiting room and he charged less than 2/3 what Pep Boys wanted for the same service, with none of their dishonest "you also need this, this, and this" sales pressure. We brought our vehicle here to get the state inspection. We were told we needed two new tires which were reasonably priced at $235 for both. The check engine light was also on so we knew we needed to get that checked and cleared up. $500 later the check engine light is still on, even though they had the car for a week. We were told some line about driving it for 150 miles to see if the light would go out, which of course it didn't. We were also told at that time that they would call us in a few days to follow up, which never happened. I'm not even sure what the extra $500 we paid was for, since they couldn't get the check engine light to go off, even after they had the car for a whole week, and we did the likely bulls**t recommendation of driving it for 150 miles. Went in after the 150 mile mark and wasn't able to talk to Shane who had originally worked on the car. The person we spoke to this time washed his hands of the whole thing, and even had the nerve to ask why we had left the garage with the check engine light on in the first place. They finally said they would give us a 25% discount if we wanted to bring it back for them to keep looking. No resolution on the issue. Really disappointed. We have one of those check engine light code readers, and our bill had something on that that didn't show up on the original code reader, and then didn't show up when we asked them to verify it when we picked the car up. In my opinion that means they overcharged us for something that wasn't a problem. read more

I found myself between a rock and a hard place with a flat tire and had two options between a football field of each other. I could not call for tow truck as would have been crazy expensive to move the car such a short distance. I had a previous great experience with a nail in my tire so off I walked. I was greeted by Shane and as previous was welcomed with a pleasant greeting and insured I would be taken care of. I told Shane I was in a pickle, showed him the part missing from the tire and location of my car. Shane calmly and confidently stated I will send someone to change the tire and safely get it to us to check it out. The amazing, timely service and courtesy of the inconvenience of sending a team member, changing a tire just to see what was going on was Beyond customer service. I can't say enough and was graciously not invoiced for the extra time and personal service of changing my tire etc...
