Before this became Jay Clark's Automotive, it was Luongo's, and they did good work for a fair price. They also contacted me when work was done on a vehicle, and did what they said they would do. Recently with a simple car inspection I've been really disappointed with this business, not because of the work, or the price, but because they keep telling me they will call back and never do. It must be 10 times I've tried to find out about the status of my car inspection, and they never respond to let me know. I think I'll have to go elsewhere even though I love the location. But first I would appreciate getting the inspection sticker. Hopefully I won't have to call 10 more times to finally get some type of response. read more

I have never met a more honest customer service friendly mechanic! I literally haven't taken my minivan in for servicing in years. If something breaks, we try to fix it ourselves via Youtube videos. Somehow we've managed not to kill ourselves with our scary fixes... The hardest part of taking your vehicle in anywhere is the upselling and you're not ever really sure what is needed vs what they are just trying to get you to agree to. They have to hit those quotas! In May, my minivan started leaking coolant and couldn't fix it ourselves so we brought it to Jay to look over. First he was super horrified at the utter lack of any maintenance... LOL Then he started listing everything that needed to be done. He even went over everything with a fine tooth comb to make sure I wasn't going to break down on the side of the road with my dogs. This would be overkill in most people's situation... but let's be serious, I was shocked each time the minivan started. Water pump, Serpentine belt, spark plugs, air filter, cabin air filter, and cleaned the throttle body for under $500. I wasn't lied to, nothing was inflated, I wasn't upsold anything needlessly. I wasn't ever made to feel stupid or talked down to because I have a uterus. There was no creepy vibe that you can get from some other mechanics. Zero mental alarm bells! Phew! The best part is now my 12+ year old minivan feels like a whole new vehicle. Apparently you really do need tune up and maintenance... Who knew? Actually no, the best part is now our dog who was not a calm car ride traveler, is much more relaxed riding in the minivan! Maybe he was trying to tell me the vehicle needed to go to the "doctor" all along? I promise to keep up on vehicle maintenance now! Lesson learned and it wasn't even all that hard. read more

The owner Jay has by far the best prices around I called 7 or 8 other places nearby to get my car looked at he was less than half the price of the others. Then he spent an hour during his lunch break to give me helpful insight. I can't recommend him enough! read more

Today we took a car to be looked at before my son purchased it. Jay was thorough, very reasonable, and a treasure trove of wonderful information and help. If you are ever looking for a car in the south Philadelphia area or from Delaware, I would take the car to Jay Clarke's automotive diagnostic center to make sure the car is worthy! Jay even provided valuable information for us to use when speaking with the dealership. Jay is an honest mechanic who is there to help anyone who needs help. This place is a shack.... run by incompetents. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARE THERE! Jay and his wife run this place and barely know how to use their PC let alone communicate effectively with each other, or a patron. A simple inspection on a 2018 car with zero problems turned into a nightmare. They contracted with me to do the work and did not even have the stickers to complete the job. I returned 3 times to get the stickers after being told they had them only to find out when I got there they confused me with another person. They blamed Harrisburg for not sending the stickers in a timely way. Jay told me on the final phone call he would reverse the charge on my card... I'm still waiting. On top of that, the place is a mess, congested with toxic fumes and maybe one spot to park your vehicle in the parking area... good luck backing out of their lot! I could go on, but I hope you get the point.... your car would be in better hands with some teenagers and a roll of duct tape. read more

I asked for an estimate on a repair for my vehicle and they inspected it???? I told them twice I didn't need an inspection. I needed an estimate. Called a day later and was told everything was fine. Picked up my truck and every check engine light and error code was back on, as well as the knocking rattle sound coming from the engine. Called and was told something must be wrong with the computer??? And he would reset the codes again??? Why??! The computer is telling you the problem, clearing it won't repair the engine!! Was told that someone drove my truck all day and it was fine. Lies, u can hear the problem two blocks away. When I drive by, people turn and look it's so loud. I didn't even give them the info they needed to have it inspected?? PLUS the new inspection expires in 6 months?? Not legal in PA!! How does this make my vehicle safe to drive with three kids!!!!! You need help with a repair, go somewhere else. read more
