Came out to do a sewer line inspection on a house I'm considering purchasing. Results were sent quickly. Highly recommend.

Scheduled me for a quote at 8 AM. I told them on the phone an hour before I would not be able to get to the door as I had a work meeting and I worked from home. They came anyway, knocked and called during my meeting and left a note on the door saying I needed to email and reschedule. I emailed and they said they could only come at 7 AM two days later. I told them that would not work and asked for a different time. 2 weeks later and no response, my property manager tells me I have a 150$ charge for not answering the door the first appointment and not rescheduling. They went in bathroom and came out 5 minutes later and I got a bill $156.25. On invoice it said 1.25 hours they were at my apartment and that is a lie because I was there in the living room and he was only there 5 minutes. I'm low income and I'm being taken advantage of. read more

Terrible experience with Jess, and now 750$ charge, for "services" rendered. I spent over 2 months trying to get him to come out to my place to complete the repairs they suggested to complete. After much delay a crew finally shows up to my place to complete the work. No heads up call or text. I told them that because of poor customer service i decided to continue services with a new company who told me, no repairs were needed at all. Not a great day. I requested help with a clogged toilet 12/26/2024 and Jeremy arrived promptly along with a trainee. I mentioned that the last time this happened that a different employee (Lowell), found the cleanout easily. Jeremy looked up his notes and measured and had his trainee dig. I mentioned I thought it was in a different location. After an hour, Jeremy suggested we pull the toilet inside and approach it from there. Jeremy worked on clearing the blockage from inside while his trainee refilled the hole out back. He finished clearing the blockage and put the toilet back in place. But never mentioned to me that he had broken one of the bolts, and installed the toilet with only one bolt, instead of the two bolts needed. He presented the bill with details of the job, but leaving out the information about the missing bolt. The bill was $505. Three hours at $125/hr. $105 to pull and reseat toilet. And $25 for replacement fill valve and hose. Still no mention of the broken bolt issue that he did not fix. I discovered the missing bolt and ran out to talk to him before he left my driveway. Jeremy looked surprised that I noticed and couldn't really give me a good explanation and suggested I keep an eye on it and suggested I hire a plumber to repair it. I don't like it when repairmen do a improper job and think a women won't even notice. read more

Our realtor set the sewer scope service up for us in the process of buying a home. We received an invoice for the service that's $187 and they charged an additional mileage fee of $42 for a 15 miles distance (frome Salem to Monmouth). Their service technician just completed the job and departed and I must say I was really pleased with all aspects of the experience. I have a small storm drain line that serves my gutter system and a floor drain on the back patio under my deck. Over time it fills with the sand that slowly wears away from my roofing shingles along with any other bits of moss or debris that winds up getting flushed down my downspouts. I had this same company out 4 years ago when I first bought the house to flush it all out with a hydro jet. They did a great job and the price was very, very reasonable. Unfortunately, this past week's storms let me know that it was again clogged to the point of being unable to keep my patio from flooding during really heavy rains. I called them up again and was really pleased that they could get to me in a couple of days (it wasn't an emergency and they may have been able to get to me quicker if it were, but I didn't ask). I was even more pleased that the same gentleman who came out the first time was still with the company and would likely be the one to come this time as well. And he was. Loel was an absolute gem. He showed up on time (few minutes early...). He did an incredibly thorough job. Both times. This job was hourly and he didn't dally but got right to it. He was obviously highly skilled and efficient with years of experience and was a heck of a nice guy to boot. If I recall correctly, I think I had another of one of their guys out to clear a tub drain with a traditional auger snake after we bought this house as well and that also was a pleasant and reasonably priced experience Anyway... I can highly recommend these folks based on multiple interactions over several years. I hope your experience with them goes just as well. read more

My husband and I just bought a house, and the deal breaker was as long as the seller paid for the sewer to get fixed, we would go through with the purchase because we didn't have any extra money to fix the sewer. The seller agreed, so we got a bid from action drain for almost $12,000 (yikes). After they started the work, they decided to text me (didn't even respectfully call me, but texted me) and told me that they were going to have to change the bid because they ran into big rocks (how is that my fault?) and utilities (didn't they call in locates and have the utilities marked?) BUT they wouldn't know how much until they were finished. So basically, they gave me no option since they had already started the work. Well, they ended up finishing the job a few days later. And Over a month later, they finally decide to send me the bill. And it's OVER $5,100 MORE!! I would have never gone through them if I would have known they were going to charge us $5,100 more then the original bid of $12,000. And they didn't even give me anything in writing of the change order. Just texted me after they had already put in a days work saying "it's going to be more, I'll let you know how much more after we are done" giving me no option to say yes or no. I was expecting maybe $1,000 more. But to charge $5,100 is absolutely insane. Not to mention, my husband called him after he had texted me that day, and my husband left him a voicemail stating he wanted to talk about them charging us more. And he still to this day has not called my husband back. They try to avoid the situation at all cost. ALSO, they didn't know I was at the house when the work was being done (because I told them we weren't moving in until after they were finished) and I have pictures of the guys just sitting around on there cell phones. After they had just taken their lunch. So basically, don't use them unless you want to pay WAY more then their original bid. I'm a licensed contractor also and If we are ever off on a bid, we simply take the loss. Because customers get bids for a reason. To determine if they are able to afford it or not. And you also are required to have something in writing and signed if the change order exceeds $2,000. Which they never gave us. So I guess I'll be filing a complaint with the CCB as well. read more

Called in the late morning because we had a leaky tank bolt/ seal gasket on the toilet. Dispatch was friendly and courteous. We had a repair man at our house by 2:30 and the repair done in less than an hour. Reasonable charge for the service call. Very pleased and will call them again!!! read more

After several failed attempts to reach them to schedule an inspection with no return call, I now have a bill for an inspection that I did not authorize and didn't even know was going to happen. I would like to say how great these guys are! They are very professional and care about how they leave a property after their job is done. We had a big problem with the pipe coming out of our house and into the septic tank. It was plugged and collapsed. Because we couldn't have anything go down our drains, they moved their schedule around, due to our pressing need. They were able to clean the pipe enough to video it and determine what needed to be done. They dug deep holes at each end with an excavator and were able to use a "pipe-bursting" technique to drag a new pipe through the old one and establish a new 4" line. Our thanks to Cory for the late night service this past weekend. Our new build had a sewer backup after living in it for only three days. When Cory arrived the cause was not evident. He looked at the sewer clean outs, at the sewer pipes in the crawl space, and in the master bath where multiple drains were impacted. By the time he arrived, which was timely, the toilet was flushing again. He discussed with us a sewer scope, as the situation seemed suspicious and he suspected the blockage may have moved further down the line. He was spot on. When he did the sewer scope, he found a piece of trimmed PVC pipe in the sewer line causing the backup. He patiently, carefully, and creatively got the piece out. I would not recommend this company. I was treated with so much disrespectful by the owner who's name is Jarred . I called to discuss a charge, But was Attacked with so much venom and disrespect , I was shocked. And couldn't believe a business owner would treat a customer in this manner. When the city of Salem randomly appeared at my door and announced I had a leak I flipped and then jumped on Yelp to find a plumber. First of all, Yelpers need to get to reviewing plumbers! Once I saw my good friend Kyle R. had used this company and rate them five stars, I decided to give them a call. Plumber guy came out the following day and immediately found the leak. He said someone would call and quote us later. The following morning (0730) a truck was in my driveway and within an hour the leak was fixed. The drain pipe for my washing machine was backing up and water was running out and down the wall, we did not notice it for a while but soon the moisture was prominent around the washing machine and dryer, I tried several home methods to cure the problem but was unable to fix it on my own. I was referred to Action Drain by a family member who said they had the best customer service of any they had used, I called them and scheduled a visit for the following Friday, I asked if they wore a protective mask and was told they did, on Friday a staff person arrived wearing a mask and gloves and immediately went to work, after determining where the issue was, he rooted out the issue in about 45 min and then tested the draining of the washing machine several times, once he was satisfied it was no longer clogged he gave me suggestions to improve the pipe for the future, he left as professional as he arrived, provided excellent service, his attention to details and overall attitude was excellent and I would use the service in the future. read more

Action sent a guy out at 8:00 PM to unclog our lines. The gentleman that came was very nice and got our pipes flowing. 4 days later, the drains slowed again. Another very nice gentleman came within hours and spent an extra long time making sure they were completely clear and flowing and could take a large volume of water. Satisfied that the job was done right, he explained to me how my lines were laid out and where he thought the problem might be. He located my clean-out and marked it in case someone needed to find it in the future. They didn't charge me for the second, pretty long house call. I'm very pleased with this company! read more
