Thank goodness for Jeremy of Action Drain and Rooter Service for coming out to our rescue, when we were having plumbing problems.

Action sent a guy out at 8:00 PM to unclog our lines. The gentleman that came was very nice and got our pipes flowing. 4 days later, the drains slowed again. Another very nice gentleman came within hours and spent an extra long time making sure they were completely clear and flowing and could take a large volume of water. Satisfied that the job was done right, he explained to me how my lines were laid out and where he thought the problem might be. He located my clean-out and marked it in case someone needed to find it in the future. They didn't charge me for the second, pretty long house call. I'm very pleased with this company! read more

If I could give a negative star, I would. Why is because the plumber is a dishonest. He came to my home, two hours late. He unclogged the pipe and stated there was zero evidence as to what was causing the clog. There was nothing brough up with his "snake" and no camera was used to look at what caused the clog. However, on the invoice to the landlord he said it was because I was doing laundry and I used the garbage disposal. This has led to a fight with the landlord. I will now, ultimately have to move. I would NEVER use this company nor EVER recommend them to anyone. FYI, this is the 3rd year having plumbing issues, the same as our neighbors. read more

We've had two encounters with them. The first one was when we bought our house. They helped with the inspection. Scoped our sewer and made sure everything was in good repair. Friendly, thorough, reasonably priced. Second, we had a sewer drain clog this year. We called them after hours. Frantic! We were expecting a bit of a wait and a huge bill. Neither were the case. They showed up within 30 minutes. Solved the problem fast! Then when our drain guy Loel gave us the 'damage' it wasn't damaging at all. Again, reasonably priced. Top notch! read more

An absolute pleasure to work with! I got bids for a complete sewer line replacement for my 95 year old house in Salem. Jess at Action Drain returned my calls, answered my questions, and scheduled the repair. On two very rainy and cold days, Dwight and his team showed up early, worked diligently and cheerfully even as the project had surprises and required more work. They were OCD-level careful with my large yard, put large metal plates down on my yard so that the heavy equipment didn't leave ruts, cleaned up the dirt in the street continually, put everything back in place, did an excellent job on the project, left the area very tidy and even replanted a patch of daffodils that got dug up in the process. They had every opportunity to complain or gripe as it got dark and the rained poured on top of them. They just kept at it. I was very impressed from bid to job completed. These guys are true professionals and I would recommend them to anyone. On a side note: Another bid I got was from a top Yelp recommended company. When the guy showed up I commented on how their company had recently completed a sewer replacement at my neighbors house (open trench) and it seemed to take forever. His comment on that was "Yeah, that guy didn't know what he was doing"--hardly instilled confidence that their company would treat my project any differently. As he as leaving he said, oh, by the way theres a $60 charge for coming out- did they tell you that? No they hadn't. I'm super glad I went with Action Drain. That being said,I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and this lady provided some of the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. If I was and owner of a company I would NOT want her being the first person customers talked too. She was RUDE, inconsiderate, condescending and completely unhelpful. read more

The most amazing service!! Our kitchen sink backed into our bathroom sink and tub on a Saturday. I called Action and the serviceman got back to me quickly with a quote and we scheduled a time on Sunday morning (due to us being at our sons baseball game instead of at home Saturday night) for them to come out. The service technician was at my house at 8 am Sunday morning and fixed our problem in 20 minutes. He also asked how our sons game went the night before and even chatted with us about their season! First thing Wednesday morning, our shower and toilet stopped draining. I called two companies, franchises.....and they informed me that they could not get to out home for at least 24 hours and one company not until 4:00 the next afternoon. I then called a local family owned business, Action!!! They were friendly and got a technician to our home in 15 MINUTES!! amazing. Ok, where to start. I cannot say enough how awesome this Company is!!! We had a major problem with the sewer lines at our rental in Keizer. Response was fast professional and THOROUGH!! They discovered the problems quickly and just as quickly gave us a quote on the estimated cost. I assisted my elderly Mother who had plugged drain lines. She had Mr. Rooter who came out and gave an etimate of between $800-$2000. to fix what I believed to be a much simpler repair. Why is it certain companies always try to take advantage of women or unsuspecting customers? I also called two other local companies who either could not come immediately or refused to snake the sewer line through the toilet access. Then I spoke with Action Drain Service. The lady was friendly and gave us specific ideas of cost over the phone plus if need be they would have snaked through the toilet drain. We knew ahead of time what the potential costs would be and they were willing to come immediately even though it was late. Loren responded to fix our problem. He was fast, very friendly and willing to give tips on how to prevent problems in the future. And, he resolved the plugged drain without touching the toilet. For whatever reason the last time my Mom had a similar problem the only company that could or would help her was out of Portland. I am very pleased with Action Drain and Rooter Service, who are local here in Salem. We now know who to call in the future and we will. Pretty, pretty good company. Had a sewer line drain plugged, and after many attempts to find the cause, they discovered a back-flow device was at fault. They found one that fit our line's specification and replaced it. And almost a year later, issue hasn't returned. Costs are super reasonable. I believe they came out on like 4 separate occasions, and the total cost was only $400-something. they even did a camera probe down my sewer lines. staff was super friendly, especially Jess. What a great company! I had a clogged bathtub drain, and after trying a couple of remedies, decided I wasn't going to mess around with old pipes and got a recommendation to call these guys. I called this morning, they had someone out within a few hours. The guy was very nice, especially when it came to the "help" of my large dog, and had things unclogged in short time. Wish I could give them NO stars, but in order to write a review, had to give them one star So these guys came highly recommended by my boss, an attorney, so we went with them over other plumbers. My husband and I both work full time so we had my sister-in-law be present while the plumbers came to fix our toilet that was gurgling and filling with water and drains that weren't draining. Well I left a bunch of notes telling the guys that there was no problem in our half bath toilet or sink, only in the kitchen sink and our main bath shower/tub, sink, and toilet. Well this guy (supposedly a technician) STILL snakes our half bath sink and toilet and finds NOTHING. Well yeah, no shit! Because I told him there was no problem there! He then proceeds to stand around saying "this doesn't make sense, there is no problem". My sister-in-law again tells him that is because there is no problem in that area, and that the problem is in the main bathroom and the kitchen sink. Then he finally snakes our main bathroom and kitchen, he finds gunk in there and in the toilet, a couple of Clorox wipes (yeah my husband's bad). So he writes on the paperwork that he only went down a few feet and that there might be another problem. He didn't even test the toilet with the shower running, which was when the MAIN problem was occurring, and instead just said "yep it's all good now". Well we come home that evening and immediately turn on the shower and what do you know, the toilet is gurgling and filling up with water, STILL. So he basically fixed NOTHING. And our bill was $180.50!!!! WAY more than we anticipated, considering my boss had water all over his floors in October 2017 and they only charged him $120.00 for, if I remember correctly, an emergency visit. Anyway, as if that wasn't enough, I then call these people and the useless receptionists who "doesn't know anything about pricing" gets us over to a technician who proceeds to tell me that the guy who came out is "really good" and they're all "great at what they do" and that if we want him to come out tonight he's going to have to charge us an emergency rate and a weekend rate (this was Friday night that we called, they came on Friday morning). Well, I tell him that it is NOT an emergency, we don't have water spilling onto our floors and we can wait for an appointment and that we shouldn't be charged considering they never fixed the problem, and they charged me for something that was never an issue!!!! He tells me that that is the way they do things. So we basically got nowhere with these people and are still having issues. We are currently looking for a better company, and I recommend you do so also, because these people are unprofessional, incompetent and EXPENSIVE FOR NO REASON! read more

I used this company for years, in my rentals, personal and selling real estate, paying them 10s of thousands of dollars. On one occasion when they went on a call and dumped raw sewage on my front yard. When I called about it, she said that I am waiving red flags and can never use their service again! Just by calling and asking or letting them know about the problem. She was horrible, nasty, and very unprofessional. Action Drain & Rooter service is OUTSTANDING. We had a sewer drainage issue in our home on December 10th, in the late evening. We called another plumbing service and because of the hour, they were unable to help. Within an hour, a representative named Ax, came and helped clear the drain for us. Water was running smoothly after he left. Charges were $137.50 (time and a half). Ax was fantastic at service and helping us, despite the late hour. Thank you! But then Sunday afternoon, December 13th, the same issue popped up. So we called Action Drain & Rooter again. We were initially frustrated that the problem was resurfacing so quickly after our service on the 10th. Larry came this time and did a camera inspection. He then notified us that a drain pipe was broken in our crawl space and this was something they could not fix. He recommended several plumbers. The relieving news - Larry decided not to charge us for the second inspection and labeled it a continuance of the previous job. This company is one of INTEGRITY. That's hard to beat. Thankfully I never needed a plumber before, and when the kitchen sink backed up, we gave it our best DIY effort, spending about $60 on Draino and then a snake. We should have saved the money and effort. I got a recommendation for Action and Loel had us fixed about an hour after I placed the call. It cost $134.50, on a Saturday afternoon. I would have saved nearly $50 if I waited until the work week, but with a hungry house to feed, and no sink or dishwasher, I would have spent over $50 eating out / take-out all weekend. I had Action Drain and Rooter Service do an inspection on a house I was looking to buy. It took several days for them to get back to my realtor regarding scheduling, and as such we couldn't get a time where I could be present. They did the sewer scope, and my realtor gave them my contact information for them to reach out regarding a bill and the report. We contacted them a few more times trying to give them my contact information or to pay the bill, and get the report and they were not responsive. After the inspection period of the house was over they started responding and wanted to know why were so late in paying the bill. read more

We used this company based on the reviews on this website. I would not recommend them. We had a clog with our outside drains. The first person that came out was extremely friendly to my wife, however the snake broke. When his supervisor called he explained they would locate it but we would have to pay for it. When the second gentlemen came out he looked at my yard and said he couldn't help and his boss said to just go. My wife asked him if he would at least take the snake out and he said no its not going to make anything worse. She asked him to at least locate it and he did and then left. A week later we got a bill for locating the snake. We have since had someone else come out and remove the broken snake and help us with our issue. I think it's said we were so insignificant that they thought it was ok to leave the snake broke in the pipe. read more

Called em out on a Friday to unclog a drain. They said they got it, but didn't. Had to have them back out on a Sunday and they blew out my plumbing under my house. What a mess. They then told me they couldn't fix it because they weren't licensed plumbers. Not only did they make a mess and break my pipes they left without finishing the job. Thanks to Brent of Action Drain. My drain clogged at 9:30 pm Saturday night. I called and they came Sunday morning (today). He came when he said he would come, found and cleared the clog, and the cost was what he had quoted. Yay!!! I had sent out a facebook request to my friends and several recommended Action Drain which is why I called them. Not satisfied with the service I received. I was told the unclog service was 81.50 plus a 19.00 millage charge and then in the end was charged a rate of 81.50 per hour plus the millage charge. At our company the ladies and men's bathrooms are side by side and the pipes are in the common wall between them. There are 2 sinks in each and a toilet in each. Three sinks were backed up but one sink and both toilets were functioning fine. I went over this info with their tech and let him know I had ran a hand snake 23' down the main clean out and hit no clog. I also tried going through a sink drain line but could see that this drain line tied to a sink on the other side of the wall and the drain line T'd in the wall and dropped straight down to the main drain line. I could not get my hand snake to go down that line which was the line right after the three sinks tied together. I told him the clog was most likely just after the point that the three sink drains tied together and go to the main drain line for one sink and both toilets still drained fine. The tech said the main clean out was worthless for he could only get his snake 12' down that line. He also tried to blow the clog through with pressure but that failed too. He never removed a section of pipe under the sink where he was trying to pressurize the lines which this section could easily be removed by hand, turning a plastic washer/nut and this is where our water filter drains into so who knows what was pushed back up that line into our water filter and possibly into water people drank. He also did not disconnect the drain lines from two of the sinks and cap them, he was trying to block those actual drains in the sinks by putting things on top of them. Not to mention the over flow portion of the sinks would allow the pressure to go out so no wonder the pressurized approach did not work. He spent a good amount of time making calls back to the office or another tech to ask what to do next and after a couple hours he called a 2nd tech out who basically said they had tried to do what they could and the best that they could determine is that we had a collapsed drain line which didn't make since to me for why would there be two drain lines going from the bathrooms to the septic tank. If the line was collapsed the toilets and the 4th sink would be clogged too. They also said they opened up the septic tank and looked in and we needed to have that pumped. They recommended putting a camera down the line to see what was really going on. I was never told that this would be more than what I was quoted on the phone and I asked them for our bill for I was concerned about it being more. They said they would get that for me and the next thing I knew, those two vehicles were driving off and no bill was given to me. The next day, I called Action Drain asking to get our bill and they said the bill lady was out that day and she would call me the next day. 20 days later, no call and I just received an invoice in the mail for 80 + dollars more than what I was quoted on the phone. I called Action Drain and they said they were 81.50 per hour and that they had discounted 1 hour off of our bill (Which they did). There tech was out for 3 hours and they charged us for 2. By this point in time I had already called out another company (A-1 Plumbing) and went over the same info with their tech and with in a short period of time, he had cleared the clog (Which was down the pipe I thought it was down), confirmed that we did not need to pump our septic tank at this time and was back in his vehicle and off to help the next person in need of his services. I had heard good things about Action drain and we are all human and not perfect, so maybe it was just a bad day or a new tech that was learning but I wanted to share my experience that I had with this company. read more

We recently purchased our very first home. The home was an older home, built in 1963, and we wanted to make sure the pipes were of good quality before we made the final purchase. The provided what we thought was a thorough evaluation of our pipes, sewer line, and included a video. They stated we were in great shape and all pipes were ABS plastic pipes. After living in the home for 3 weeks, we began having plumbing and sewage back-up. Turns out, Action Drain only scoped HALF the house! The older portion of the home is cast iron and horribly eroded! They failed to look at our entire home, even though we purchased their service for a full scope. Their half scope with an incomplete report misled us about the state of the home, and has cost us a lot of money to now have all the older pipes replaced, which we could have included in the house repair addendum report before ever purchasing this home. Would not recommend this company for a sewer scope to any other potential home buyers. read more
