This company has no emergency service , basically works 9-5.. had my leased by Action tankless hot water system go down . Call Action for repairs and was told it would be 2 days for repairs . Asked for a manager that too takes 48 hours before a company authority would get back to me. If your going to use Action pray your system doesn't go down after hours or weekends you will get no support. Fingers crossed your furnace stays working at -40 as they have no resources to complete repairs in an emergency, after hour or weekend you just get a call centre that runs you in circles read more

They came and cleaned out my ducts, the service guy was professional and seemed like he did a good job. However, when I turned my furnace on this winter, my furnace makes rattling noises and other noises which weren't there before the cleaning. I called to see if they could send someone out to investigate but they wanted to charge me for it. If I'm going to have to pay for a technician, I will pay another company to inspect my furnace. Not pay the same company that caused the issues. In my opinion if they worked on my furnace and it's worse than when they came the first time, I shouldn't have to pay for them to fix the issue they created or a least pay a technician to diagnose it. read more

I booked an appointment and the technician never arrived so I had to reschedule during a severe cold snap. When the technician finally came ,I was charged $1,275 for an inducer motor ,$398 for a cleaning, and $98.00 for a dispatch fee. I was not given a invoice at the time of service and when I asked for one ,the invoice I received only listed parts and labor with no part number ,no description of work and no mention of motor replacement. Had a tech come out for an issue with the furnace running often for short periods of time. Tech came out and told us we had 2 cracked heat exchangers (he stated he could not see the other 3), failed our safety inspection and said we have two options: replace the heat exchangers or get a new furnace. We ended up using a different company and got a new furnace. When the old furnace was removed we looked for the cracks in the heat exchangers, we could not find any. We had the service manager come out and he could not find any either. The issue was escalated to the Division Manager who was meeting with the owners about this, (he asked us to send him the invoice for the new furnace, which we supplied) then nothing, totally ghosting us! There has been no response to our phone calls or emails since. We are seniors on a fixed income and paid thousands of dollars for a new furnace that we did not need! We are taking this matter as far as we need to, we trusted the tech that failed our safety inspection. We will never use this company again and neither will any of our friends or family. read more

Had a furnace/ac and hot water tank installed by Action Furnace. 16 months later the furnace stops working and I am told it is covered under warranty. Low and behold it isn't and will cost nearly $800 to repair the igniter.. after 16 months of use (1 winter). 4 days since first contacting them and I am still without heat (thank goodness it isn't full winter yet but it is still pretty cold in here) and waiting to find out when they can even fix it. Will update the review as this joke continues. It is now Day 5 and I have had someone else come do the repair for half the cost after calling them in the evening and them coming the next morning. each service person out has been polite but we found the permit process was not explained very well to us. we had deficiencies in install work which has led us to have multiple inspections. it's nearly a year now and we are still have to chase up permits. Beware!! They install things backwards and don't care. They DO NOT stand by their motto on the side of their trucks "FIXED RIGHT OR IT'S RIGHT WE GUARANTEE". More than happy to continuously charge you for their mistakes! We just moved to Spruce Grove last June and unfortunately the air conditioning at the house had a leak. Had action furnace come To assess and repair the leak. We were told it was still under warranty just had to pay labour. 11 months later we go to turn on our air conditioner and same problem. Called action furnace they came, but now they say it is not under warranty and they won't warranty their work that they did 11 months ago (90 days maximum). $299 for leak detection, plus parts/labour and no guarantee this won't happen again next year. Waiting to talk to a manager as this is unacceptable. Had another HVAC Tech come and look and Action Furnace put the heater coil in BACKWARDS! They don't fix their mistakes. Want you to pay for problems that really are NOT the root problem. Its a scam. They only want your money. read more

Stay Away! For company like these there should not be any star, they should have a thumbs downs option. I wish I did not just rely on google reviews (which seems to be fake) before calling these guys. Tech came out, instead of doing any diagnostics using multimeter or any other testing equipment came to conclusion that control board is dead. He then opened the blower area just so that he can find some other issue. Then he jumped to inducer draft fan finally he moved to replacing the furnace and their payment plan etc. When I asked him how he decided on bad board, arrogance kicked in "Oh I have 10 years of experience". when asked about the price for the board, he was like it could be $1,200 or $1,600. Our water pump on our furnace decided to stop working so we called Action Furnace because they were the ones that installed it 8 years ago. James (Jimmy) Carter was our technician. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. He just left 5 minutes ago and we felt we had to do a review because of his great service! Had to join their membership just to get the 20 percent off. Had no clue on this coz this is the first time we had a problem with our furnace. We were totally ripped off. I bought a new furnace from them. they told me that the furnace i had was not fixable. i probably should have gotten another service to also review but it was an emergency and the middle of winter so I just trusted them. so they installed the furnace and I also signed up for their monthly $22/month but not really sure what i actually got for that. They came to 'service' my furnace after one year but then left a massive estimate for lots of other work they said that I needed that was tons of money. it included that 'my air conditioning unit needed a complete service'. the service guy did not know that i had JUST bought it. it was not even 6 months old so i don't think that was correct at all. i feel like they upsell you and seem to make stuff up. i did not have them to any of the additional work that they said needed to be done. read more

I had appointment with this company on November 5 2020 on that day they sent one guy come to do the vent count and he left , 5 minute later the company call me tell me that they can't do it because nobody around I had to cancel my doctor appointment because of them. I reschedule for November 12 2020 they sent another guy to do the vent count and told me it will cost me $480.00 to do it the price is too expensive for me but I need my furnace cleaning done so I am ok for that and I hope they do a good job but when they came I was so disappointed one guy showed up with a portable vacuum and an air hose that was it. The way they did is hook up the vacuum to the heating duct and sprayed air into every vent about 5 seconds without took the vent covers off that was it. DONE. Left behind a mess like snow on the entrance door all the paper cover the vents. Completely NOT a PROFESSIONAL work I can do it by myself better than that For me I will give him negative star and what a rip-off. What I expected is: The big vacuum truck outside Taking out the furnace motor to clean Run the brush in the ducts to clean Take all the vent caps out while cleaning Clean up after the job done. read more

I called Action Furnace as we woke up with no heat. When They arrived, tech was very pleasant, did their diagnostics and suggested a new motor and belt. After being charged $580 our furnace shut off again 30 mins after the tech left. I called a second time.. the same tech showed up mid afternoon and they had trouble identifying the issue... however the furnace kicked in again.. they suggested the problem was resolved.45 min later the furnace shut off again . To their credit.. they didn't charge anything I called a third time. Explained the situation and demanded a more experienced tech. They showed up at 7:30pm.. This tech determined that there was an electrical issue. The tech replaced the switch at no charge. This tech was apologetic. The first tech should have identified the issue. You might want to think twice before using this company, The word rip O** comes to mind. I paid their $89.00 diagnostic fee and ran the tech off my premises. They wanted $489.00 to install a $34 dollar part ( furnace igniter) which took me a lay person 15 min to install. Literally 1 screw to remove and unplug the old igniter and replace it with a new one. I have audio of the tech giving me the quote and telling me that the furnace fan is failing and needs replacement as well. And for all who read this I would not trust their google reviews, I posted this on google reviews the day the tech completed his diagnostic and one day later it was deleted. I think they hire a company to clean and delete all bad reviews, and possibly computer generate good reviews, use this company at your peril. read more

Before they even looked at my problem the tech was suggesting I buy a new 6,800 furnace .. they did some repairs 1,200 dollars later I thought it was all good . 2 years later the furnace starts making noises and it's the same part they installed ... Expensive! These guys have a price gouging racket to get you to sign up for their monthly membership fee. On my 8 year old furnace my draft inducer motor was making noise. Tech came and immediately pronounced it needed to be replaced at $1200. But if I signed up for their monthly fee he'd take 20% off. It's april and not -30 so I said no thanks to both. Did some research and the OEM part is $660 RETAIL (Benner and Amazon both have same price) and an hour to install for an amateur (lots of youtube videos). We were charged $250 bucks for the service. That's not too bad you might be thinking ... well no its not. I just called Action Furnace for help as my furnace is not working properly it will not heat past 16c, the ad on their sticker on the furnace says "BEST IN THE INDUSTRY, 24 HOUR SERVICE" I certainly hope "best in the industry" is not a fact, as for 24 hour service - apparently that isn't the case because I can't get a servIce person here until tomorrow sometime between 10 am and 2pm. When I read the review on this company I don't know why anyone would have them do an install. No integrity. I thought they were good folks to do business with. My furnace stopped working and I called Action Furnace for them to fix it. After diagnosing the problem the technician found out that the gas valve was not working properly anymore. He suggested that it needed to be replaced at $995 which I thought it was very expensive. But he suggested that if I signed up for their comfort club membership it will only cost me $811 dollars. Unfortunately I needed to get the furnace repaired and did not though of other options or getting a second opinion at that moment. It only took the technician about 1/2 hour to get the job done. After doing some research I found out that the Goodman gas valve for my furnace only retails for $50+dollars on Amazon. I understand that Action Furnace made a profit on the gas valve but there is not logical explanation for the $811 bill for the service call, parts and 1/2 labor. I feel that Action Furnace took advantage of the situation and ripped me off of my hard work earned money. I'm a person with integrity and based on my personal experience can not recommend this company. read more

I picked these people to do my bi-annual furnace cleaning because of a coupon in the mailbox. The price was right compared to a highball estimate from another furnace cleaning outfit. The pluses are that they answer their telephone promptly, remind you before they come and show up on time for the appointment. Staff are courteous and business-like. Minuses? Their technology requires 220 volts power so you're in luck if you have an energy-sucking electric dryer or stove in the house. We don't so we were never able to see if they really do a good job or not. This little quirk of theirs was never explained when I booked so I've lost about a month of the heating season without clean ductwork. read more

Water Heater tank I phoned Action Furnace and told them that I have cold water running out of my faucet. I told the operator that I don't want the Action Furnace guy to come to my house without fixing anything, then charged me $70.00 for coming. She told me that his van has full of supplies and would fix it immediately. And not to worry, and if he had to go and get the parts, Action Furnace would not charge me extra. The Action Furnace guy came, he told me that the defective was my gas control valve on my water tank. He suggested that I changed to new water tank which will cost me $2,199. If I insist to change my Gas Control valve, he would charge me $800. He said that after fixing the gas control valve, stilll it did not work, I would be charge again for a new water tank which will cost $2,199. I was not happy with the whooping prices. Luckily, I did not go with Action Furnace. I hired Stu and William Pearse, Revive Mechanical and Contracting phone # 780-7101771. They came right away and told me that the flame sensor was dirty and bad connection on the ignition plug only and they charge me $100 for the service charge. Excellent Service to Revive Mechanical & Contracting. Both brothers are honest people. Thank you so so much. I am blessed to know you. Stu and William Pearse are knowledgeable handy men. We had these folks install a new A/C for our home. When installing they told us we needed a new electrical panel. Not knowing any better, we let them install one for an additional five hundred dollars. A year later an electrician visits are home and informs us the panel wasn't need, that they could have used space saving breakers, and that he sees this all the time from this company, who add "additionals" to make more money. BAD NEWS STAY AWAY!!!!! These guys showed up assessed my home size did a heat loss calculation recommended and installed a 50,000 BTU Lennox in my 1100 sq ft bungalow. Last winter when temperatures were minus 20 or less the furnace ran 24/7 and could not keep the house at 20 degrees C. I called in another heating contractor to assess the problem, he told me that the house requires at least 80,000 BTU , he quoted me $2900 to replace the furnace with an appropriate size unit. When I confronted Action they agreed that the furnace was undersized and would give me a discount to fix the problem they had made! Their quote was $5900!!! read more

I received a quote for my furnace which stopped working. I was told it was the circuit board and high limit switch. The cost of the repair was $1600.00 and I was told to consider just getting a new furnace. I had a second opinion less than 24 hours later, they were able to fix the only problem, the switch for $475 parts and labour same day. Negative stars. Should have zero star. Because the Action Furnace sent his repairman to my house December 2016. And the repairman did not know what to do. All he told me was to change to new water heater tank of what his company is selling. In actual fact, it was the loose plug on the Heater Control. All he had to do was to unplug it and plug it in. If he knew what was wrong with it, to unplug and plug it in and charge me a reasonable price i would have appreciate his service. Instead he came to my house and charged me without doing anything. He also asked me to change my whole water heater tank to his company brand for more than thousands dollars. Luckily, I asked another furnace guy 7807101771 and he told me the plug on the Heater Control was loose and dirty There is nothing wrong with my water heater tank.. Always ask for another opinion. Never pay whooping price for a new furnace and new water tank because sometimes it is only loose plug that can be fix for less than $100. read more
