We called at the beginning of February because we had no heat and no auxiliary heat. They sent a technician who said we needed a new part. Ordered the part which did not fit, said they'd get back to us with a solution but almost two months later, we heard nothing from them. They need to get qualified technicians who can accurately diagnosis and repair. We called another company who repaired our heat pump with new parts and we were up and running in two days! CHOOSE ANOTHER HVAC COMPANY. For me to write a poor review requires some behavior on the part of the company that needs to be communicated so other potential customers are aware of the business's practices. When building a new home a year ago, I contracted with Action H&C to install a high-end Carrier HVAC system. While their experience with the system I selected was limited, they assured me that they were fully qualified and trained to do the installation. Action H&C was also on Carrier's approved vendor list for the unit I selected. During the significantly extended nine-month installation period, my system still doesn't function correctly. The extreme cold weather has demonstrated that the two-zone ductwork design appears inadequate. Looking back at the management issues, excessive personnel turnover, and now obvious overall lack of appropriate design skills for my ductwork, I'm left with a system that isn't doing what it was designed to do. I phoned and asked for a service technician to come by to check that everything was working correctly. I was informed that I had been placed on the company's list of customers they no longer will service. I asked why, but the individual I spoke with informed me she didn't know (or wouldn't tell me). The price of the new Carrier system was $30,000, which I paid for in advance of the install. It's disappointing that this company won't stand behind its work once it's been paid. The Carrier system seems to be functioning correctly, but the heat does not appear to be distributed correctly between the zones. We started with a red flag, their site advertised an inspection cost but that almost tripled before we made the appointment. Instead of walking away, I went ahead with the appointment because the advertised price was too low and I expected it to be higher. The real trouble began when they failed to make the initial appointment and didn't notify me until after business hours. The same thing happened on the make-up appointment! After 17 years on our old HVAC system it was showing signs of need for replacement. Got (3) quotes and ultimately chose Action Heating and Cooling (Crossville, TN) for a number of reasons to include excellent communication between us and Brandon our project manager multiple times, and the quality of the brand name they recommended (Trane). Price was not the cheapest, but it was their work ethic, rapid personal response, and investment in their quality technicians that made the difference initially, as well as expectations for the future care and maintenance of our system. Zac, Jordan and Austin did not disappoint us! They were exceptionally polite, respectful, skilled and knowledgeable in their craft! The entire process of removal of the old and installation of the new could not have been more smooth and seamless. They spent a great deal of time in the end (when surely tired from a long day), explaining and setting up the new thermostat controls and making sure all systems worked as expected. Those guys gave us great confidence that we made the right choice in Action. It's been a few weeks now and we are most pleased with everything! Highly recommend Action and this team! 5-stars! We received our semi-annual service for our HVAC and our service person is Austin. We really appreciate the good work Austin did in inspecting our system for us. Austin is polite and respectful. He is a good communicator as well. He called us as he was headed to our home to do the service. It was nice to have a heads up that he was on his way. BUYER BEWARE! We had this company replace our thermostat when it broke while we were out of town. While they did the work promptly and at an expected rate for the service call, the amount they charged us for the thermostat was almost 3 times what you would pay if you purchased it yourself. I even called to verify the charge and was told that that $195 was the standard charge for the part. The same one sells for about $72 at Walmart.com. Won't do business with them again. read more

I am mixed in my opinion on this firm. They did the Original install on my new home for heating and air conditioners. Both were only partially hooked up! The call we made for a service call came as only the blowers were on, ( non stop ) and we got no cooling. Then, the Sky parted, and Heaven must have sent us Mr. Greg Hollenback, their repairman. Now he... deserves 5 Stars! He connected us up and checked the entire system before he left us. Now, after he took the brief time to explain how our system worked, we customized it to suit our personal needs. My contractor never did that. Greg is one reason why I will always be loyal to Action. Just a day or two before Christmas, our gas furnace went out. Called a popular local H&C company. Said they would be out that afternoon No show,no call. Went to Action.Tim was there in a couple of hours, diagnosed our problem and gave us our options. Decided on a new unit.Chip ordered the unit, was delivered and set up when promised. Hunter worked in the below freezing temps outside and got the house warm in a few hours. All this with temps at or below freezing. Could have not asked for better service. I called for a check -up on AC unit, a service man came over and told me that after a check for leaks of the refrigerant , there was none to be found He than said refrigerant was low and he added 2 1/2 pounds ($50 per pound ) of refrigerant . After he started unit back up , said it was OK ! He than, said my charge for service were ( $100. & $120. ) or $220.Total. One week later , my AC Quit working , I called them and another man came and after checking AC , said a canister was leaking and was causing the problem . He said he would get back to me with how much it would cost to replace canister , ,,,,Another service man came the next day to re-check the problem , and said the real problem was not a leak in the canister , it was the blower that was not working , He called the shop for the cost of replacing Blower it was more than $500 , I told him I would buy a new Gas -AC before I spent more than ($500 & $220) or $720. ....... I spent $220.00 for nothing ,Please Don't call these people for service, Thy don't know what their doing ??? read more

after having a complete system installed by this co. a couple years ago , i would have thought they could get their act together,after multiple problems, like breaking items and hiding them, miss cutting hardwood floors ect. but not the case. thought i would give them another change. i made an appointment and have waited weeks another for a duct to be added and a gas line installed. they someone named chase called and canceled at the time they were suppose to be here saying employee problems , then he calls back a couple hours later and said they don't want to do it. sounds like a bad business to deal with. and a waste of my time. buyer beware.
