In addition, I have taken handful of the individuals I support for my job as a DSP, and they enjoy spending time in this business and the owners are very kind and respectful to all of the above. I am so lucky to have such a kind and honest local business owners who allow me to utilize their space frequently. If you're reading this and are worried about their 1-star reviews, please understand that most of the time it is because people try to palm the smaller items as this IS an antique shop. However, this business has cameras, and anytime potential thieves try that they get caught and come to the internet to fabricate lies to collect what's left of their ego after the owners chose NOT to get police involved, which they are totally within their right to do. Thank you Engelberg Antiks for making Salem less boring!

Absolutely do not recommend shopping here anymore after a horrible interaction. I had my family…read moremember from another state anticipate going here because of how much me and my girlfriend loved shopping here. Right as we walk in, per usual we hand them our shopping bags from another store. We then proceed to shop and my cousin not fully knowing their rules still had a toy he bought from the GameStop in the Salem Center. The woman at the front desk rudely accused him of it being an item from their store, which we can back up if needed. Then after we found items and I went to try on something, my cousin and girlfriend overheard them saying something along the lines of if we don't fess up or admit to stealing a single sticker, they'd post us three on instagram. Then once I went to purchase my items, the man behind counter, after checking my items, tried to confront my girlfriend which was absolutely uncalled for. Over a sticker!? We all said we'd gladly empty all our pockets and her purse if that would help ease their minds. They then said it wasn't needed, to then saying that they just can't find the sticker she was holding. So we all go downstairs and find the exact sticker my girlfriend was holding, and the woman just said "Ok" To which my cousin said to call the police if she's so worried about something being stolen. At that point I grabbed my stuff off of their counter to see my girlfriend bawling her eyes out in embarrassment for what these people have accused her and my cousin of doing. Absolutely will not be back here and will tell every one I know that they are not an accepting establishment and to not waste your time and money there like we unfortunately did.

Visiting this shop is fun just for seeing the lovely old historic home, but they also have a lot of very good merchandise, from jewelry to kitchen items and knick-knacks to clothing, including designer labels. Everything is very fairly priced, and marked down every week or so, if you're willing to take the gamble and wait for markdowns. It is run by volunteers and provides income for a non-profit, so on top of getting good bargains in a very fun shopping environment, and reusing and recycling perfectly good items, you are also contributing to a worthy cause. It is affiliated with Encore Consignment, the sister shop to Daue. Encore carries furniture, books, artwork, etc. also at very fair prices, also generating income for the same non-profit, and also using the same periodic markdown on prices, also staffed by volunteers, and just a block or so away. Definitely recommend.

Lots of nice things--housewares, jewelry, some clothes and shoes--that have an interesting mark down system depending on how long they've been there for. Found a nearly new pair of Bearpaw boots for $25 and an amazing ~60s era dress and duster marked down to $25. Awesome spot, do yourself a favor and swing by here!
