I was literally followed to the first 5 booths by a clerk, I would look up and there she was, not helping just watching me as if I were going to steal something. Really?? This is another one of my favorite places in Salem. Being at Aunt Bee's House just makes me happy, even if I am just window shopping (right, like THAT ever happens). It is a huge place filled with vendors who have all unfailingly arranged their curated items so gorgeously that it could take quite a while to walk through it all and admire so many details. It's a great place for finding furniture, housewares, vintage and other fun clothing items, jewelry, seasonal stuff, and a couple of booths--one in particular--with some great midcentury-modern finds. The staff always greet you the moment you walk through the door and are super helpful. My first time there, they gave us a free See's candy and a little packet with tissues and some other small item: a very smart and fun marketing move! We have found chairs, a vintage bar cart, vintage bar glassware, and so many other fun items there for our homes and as gifts. Highly recommend stopping by if you have not already been here but beware: it will become addicting. SO. MUCH. FUN. Also, there's a Thai food truck in their parking lot (not always open so check their hours--Big Blue Thai or something like that) with EXCELLENT food. read more

Everyone working there is wearing a mask which shows how much they care about their customers, and if you don't have a mask they'll provide one free of charge. Everything is sanitized - they even sanitize your CC after you pay. I always find something when I'm there, especially now that I'm starting to look for stocking stuffers for friends and family. Great gigantic store that seems to just keep going. Every corner another room you can enter with a hall to another room. Point is the place is awesome and be prepared to be looking award there for at least an hour or longer. It has so many awesome booths full of Knick knacks, cool retro furniture, boho decor, mid century vibes, vintage dishes , unique clothing, tools, and so much more. If you love old stuff, antiques and getting lost through the decades in time this is your place. Prices vary depending on vendors but from what i picked up or noticed all was Farley reasonable. I was looking for candles, a card and a gift for a friend. I enjoyed looking around every square inch of the store. Most of the vendors had holiday decorations to buy and it made for a cheerful shopping experience. I found very nice taper candles, a funny birthday card for a friend turning 65 and an outdoor patio decoration made of metal in the shape of a heart with birds for a dear friend celebrating her birthday in February. Um, hello. HOW have I not written a review for my favorite store in town?! My grandma introduced me to Aunt Bees and let me tell you- I am addicted. I visit on a biweekly (ok, I'm lying; weekly*) basis and have never NOT found something that I absolutely, positively need. Belinda is a doll and remembers my husband (bless his heart) and I by name. My favorite section is Sharon's! She has the BEST wax warmers and hand-makes the wax melts. They smell divine. Affordable! Adorable! Go there. And don't say I never did anything for you. My ONLY ONLY ONLY complaint is they weren't very nice to my mama when she went in and bought me a gift certificate. She was looking for a chicken figurine for my kitchen. When she finally found one she couldn't tell if it was a chicken or a rooster (because no glasses). Whoever was working gave her attitude and was super annoyed with her. I think maybe they treat their regulars a tad bit more VIP.. read more

I'm a fan of Aunt Bee's House. The place looks small on the outside, but it is HUGE on the inside. From what I understand, various vendors use the space to sell their wares, so you'll find a little bit of everything- furniture, vases, plants, artwork, mirrors, candles, clocks, globes, figurines, jewelry, clothing, and more. They are all arranged beautifully, giving the customers ideas for their own home decor. The only problem with this is that the items are scattered throughout the store. You won't find all the vases together in one place, or all the figurines. They are all over! Shopping here is definitely a treasure hunt. The prices are affordable, though some items are a bit on the expensive side. All the shopkeepers are very nice and helpful. read more

Shop local--Aunt Bees has a variety of home and gift ideas from little nick knacks to furniture. Many vintage items from approximately 100 different vendors. There is something for everyone, yes, even men that is looking for old tools, etc. You can get an ideas for yard art and even pick up flowers for a special friend or a table decoration. We found Aunt Bee's House by Googling "interesting attractions Albany, OR", and while it is in SALEM (1/2 hour to the north of Albany), it is CERTAINLY worth the extra drive. We found some serious bargains on interesting items there, and the staff that day was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Aunt Bee's House is this labyrinthine collection of individual displays created by a wild variety of hobbyists who are there for an outlet to share their obsessions, which include furniture, toys, arts/crafts and even restored antique small engines, with almost anything you could think of in between. Because the store is staffed partly by the hobbyists themselves (I think in trade for some of their space rental), the staff is as interesting and varied as their merchandise, so be prepared to partake of their knowledge, and to spend no less than an hour wandering around. There's coffee and seating in the front welcoming area if you need a break. As I wandered around Aunt Bee's, I eventually figured out that it interconnects several shop spaces of an old mall with the individual storefronts blocked off with merchandise displays. On the other side, from the interior of the beautiful old Candelaria Mall, it just looks like so many closed shops around the halls, very clean and attractively put together but a bit surreal due to how separated you are from the magic and life of Aunt Bee's itself. Ideally, Aunt Bee's could grow enough to fully make use of the shop space in that mall where it already occupies a substantial share, opening up the front as a central welcoming space with easy access points to the labyrinth through the old storefronts. As an example of what can be had there, we got some board games, books, some eclipse glasses, a rocking horse and an Italian leather couch! I had some reluctance about writing this review because I'd hate to see this outlet space ruin its eclecticism with volumes of tourists parading to it and buying all the good stuff, but that's how the place will grow, and it appears well enough managed to move forward keeping its character, so here you go: Aunt Bee's House, Salem, Oregon www.auntbeeshouse.com An eclectic shopping destination read more
