I saw the review on here from 2012 about Action tax refusing to take responsibility for their errors. Well it's still happening in 2024, their mistakes are costing our small business thousands of dollars. I have proof of their mistakes and will register a complaint with BBB. They don't have a process to check their own mistakes. I should have reacted sooner when they kept asking me for access to banks and payment apps that I already had given them access to. I will email information needed only to be asked for it again by a different person. Proceed with caution, double check their work. read more

Terrible service. The receptionist lady is rude. I set an appt anyway. They called super late to the point where I couldn't answer right away. Called back seconds later and they didn't answer my call. Called again and still no answer. After reading the previous reviews I'm not shocked. read more

If there is a negative star I will use it. I talked to Jake Hanes, who is not only condescending but also unprofessional. I have an appointment on a certain time but he said that I was the one who supposed to call. This is a total lie because I had appointments with them before and they are the ones who always call me. Also, Jake did not even have any preparation on what is the call about. My appointment was a follow up from a previous question and I should not be repeating myself. Lastly, I asked for a specific reference for a tax question and he told me that he does not memorize all the IRS tax details, which is understandable. However, Jake did not even offer to follow up and offer to look up the tax question I have. What kind of CPA or professional would not be able to research a basic question regarding what they supposed to specialize from? Stay away from these people. read more

BE ADVISED: Action Tax prepared & filed my 2018 Pers & Bus Tax Return. Paid in unexpected additional 65K in income taxes. Already had paid in over 100K via W2. Got audited by IRS. Several errors on both tax returns. Action Tax did an Amended Return for 2018. Had to pay ANOTHER 10K with that return, only to find out the Amended Return was done wrong! Now need to Amend the Amended. Have been requesting full refund of tax prep fees for both Bus & Pers prep fees. Not to mention our returns are a nightmare and IRS claiming we owe 75K in interest & penalties...I asked Action Tax to call & put HOLD on our tax account to stop IRS letters. Would not do. Too long of a hold time for them. Waiting on refund for prep fees ($2500+) New CPA will be filing AMEND to 2018 AMENDED return. I thought you hired a CPA for audit support & defense. Will not return phone calls or emails. Very unprofessional. Been a client for 6 years, business & personal. REFUSES to refund me for prep fee of over $2500 read more

Wow. This is the fastest service I've ever gotten for doing my taxes. Usually it will take me almost an hour to get things done but this time it only took no more than 15 minutes in and out. I only asked them to make sure it's all resolved and were quick about it. They would hold onto your paperwork's until you're ready to pay so they don't have to redo the paperwork again. read more

My husband and I would be lost without Action Tax Service. We came from using H&R Block for a number of years. Corrie, Jake & staff are absolutely superb. We messed our business taxes up last year, and they helped get us back on track. They always make time for our calls (in-person meetings before COVID-19) and thoroughly explain things in detail, take the time to fix our mistakes, take the time to guide us in the right direction and so much more. I wish I knew about this company years ago. When we arrived in the past for two appointments we had, the staff was super friendly, and we were seen quite quickly. After filing our taxes wrong for 3 years and never calling us back, but rather sending us hard copy of our prepared taxes, they have the audacity to refuse any responsibility for their errors. this company is awful with your taxes!! We waited over an hour to be seen, WITH AN APPOINTMENT! To do our basic return they charged me $255.00 dlrs. -- normally i pay about $100 to do my taxes! Highly inflated prices, awful customer service.... and now we are out 3.5 weeks and still no refund, did you delay in filing that too?!! Very disappointing. Service is promising and friendly at first. But it appears when you need something from them you wont get it. Jake will cut you off, and try to lecture you. Christa will forget to follow through, or fail to relay information. I've emailed them for several months trying to get copies of documents they filed for a previous tax period for my attorney. Face to face Jake finally says his firm did file the paperwork in question. But no I cant have copies of it. They would rather let me leave. They are so inept or forgetful or biased or discriminatory it finally started to cost me real dollars. Better off elsewhere with a book-keeper who seems to care. Action Tax has demonstrated that they do not care about me. read more

I shared my experience with him and now ya'all because finding a good tax person is difficult: " I went to Action Tax, formerly the Tax ladies, I think that's why the staff is almost exclusively very nice ladies. I worked with Kim who was a happy bubble of a person. She knew what she was taliking about but was happy to bust out the Big Book of Taxes to help clarify any questions that arose. It was faster than expected, I was in and out in 45 mins. Not bad considering I had multiple w2, morgages and a rental. I appriciate their attention to detail, they found an error after I left and called to let me know that I was actually due a LARGER refund than origionally projected." Jake was amazing! First he fixed my tax return from last year then he saved our small business several thousand dollars in taxes and he didn't charge an outrageous fee to do so. He was quick and knew what he was doing. Not only did he save us money , he didnt charge us alot to help us fix everything this year . Jake did all off this in one visit.
