TL;DR: I totally recommend ActivCore and Bryan Lynd in particular. I've had hip pain for several years that has gotten in the way of my performance and enjoyment as a hockey goalie. However, through my treatment at ActivCore, I've been steadily getting stronger and reducing the amount of pain and discomfort I experience. The office has an open layout, where everyone seems to work together well--there is always light music in the background and happy conversations between therapists and patients and client engagement leaders. Everything is clean and in good repair. There are restrooms and lockers so you can change before/after a session. One of ActivCore's biggest selling points for me is the ability to work one-on-one with a therapist for an entire hour, which gives me the time and personal attention I need to retrain my faulty movement patterns and replace them with healthier ones. The sessions are both challenging and productive, due to the immediate feedback as well as real-time modifications allowed by working one-on-one. I have had a particularly great experience with Bryan, first of all because he is friendly and easy to get along with. However, a key part of his ability to be an amazing provider for me is that he grew up playing ice hockey and therefore has an intimate understanding of the movement patterns and challenges that face me as I try to get back to peak form. He is organized and prepared for every session, always looking to keep things fresh and interesting so that I'm not stuck doing the exact same pattern of exercises every single session. He uses a mix of manual techniques, REDCORD, and other exercises, and has given me some exercises to do before I get on the ice in order to get my muscles ready and to reduce the amount of pain I experience while skating. Bryan is attentive and knowledgeable--he does a great job of explaining to me why I'm doing each exercise so I know what to focus on and so I can be a more active participant in my own recovery. Also notable is that he explains anything where he will be working hands-on with me. Additionally, he regularly seeks out my input and feedback about if anything hurts while I'm doing it and whether the exercises are sufficiently challenging. Unfortunately, ActivCore does not accept insurance, but they submit the paperwork for claims to your insurance company, and they are always checking in to make sure that everything is going through for reimbursements. As a whole, the staff at ActivCore is great about communication both through email and over the phone, about both billing/insurance and scheduling. I personally think that the treatment I get here is worth the slightly higher price. In short, I would totally recommend ActivCore and Bryan Lynd to anyone, but especially to those with hip injuries and hockey players looking to get back on the ice! read more

tl;dr - I couldn't sleep on my side for two years. Now I can. I had been trying to work my way through injury and pain for a couple of years when I came upon ActivCore and the Redcord suspension therapy they center their practice on. As I am sure many can relate I was stuck being bounced around from surgeons to specialists to physical therapists without relief and worsening of symptoms. This had been going on for about two years when I started treatment with Tyler. My very first visit, I could feel some relief. I won't lie; I cried a little bit on my way home knowing that I had found something that was going to work for me. Tyler's approach was much like that of an engineer. His approach to correcting dysfunction is methodical, and he has a well placed confidence in his capabilities that offers a level of trust and comfort in your treatment. After not being able to sleep on my side for two years, I began to be able to half way through my treatment. I also came in not being able to or having enough confidence to practice yoga, which I had previously practiced several times per week. I am now not only able to do yoga, but acroyoga as well. Of course no treatment is a panacea, but Tyler has provided me with home exercises I continue to do to ensure I can keep doing and improving in the activities I love. If you're still reading, two things that are very unique about ActivCore are the one-on-one treatment and the out of network status. One-on-one treatment - In many PT practices you are treated by a Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistants, and the PT may have more than one patient at a time. ActivCore is one PT per patient. I really felt like I was able to improve much quicker with the increased amount of time directly working with the PT. Out-of-network - ActivCore is out-of-network, and I was hesitant to make what I perceived as an "investment" in the therapy. 1) I would have saved a ton of money if I did this first when you add it all up. 2) If you actually calculate dollars to minutes with a PT for a regular in network provider and ActivCore, they'd be on par with one another. read more

I have been blessed to be both a PT and wellness client at Activcore for over 5 years. I started as a PT patient with both prior and post two knee replacements and then again with a few soft tissue injuries. I had attended other PT facilities and from my first session I knew this would be a totally different experience. It was the first time i was treated 1:1 with one therapist for one full hour. It was awesome as were the results!I am such a strong believer in the Redcord System as a totally unique and effective way of healing and strengthening my body!!! I have lived the results. I maintained my gains by benefiting from the wonderful wellness pilates program which has become an essential part of an always difficult battle with the aging process. Every therapist at Activcore is exceptionally knowledgeable, and I have worked with them all. Tyler and Jamie were my regular therapists but in their absence Nick, Ian and Brian all did an excellent job! For wellness pilates Jamie and Karen are talented professionals that have kept me strong. Acltvcore is a 5 star immaculately clean facility which is also a lot of fun to attend. There is always a great buzz of energy in the air . People are chatting and laughing even as they battle the healing process. The therapists in addition to be so knowledgeable and effective are fun wonderful people to be with! I give ActiveCore 5 stars and huge appreciation and thanks to Bryan for figuring out how to make my body work again. Osteoarthritis increases with each year and makes it hard for me to exercise at all for the pain in my joints. Moving/exercising only made my pain worse. I understand now why my father would groan and complain. Even though this disability is in my genes, I now can do something about it. Red Cord is a completely different approach. The harness gives my pelvis support while being lifted off the table takes away the strain of gravity. The specific ergonomic lifts, points, movements, all supervised by the trained therapist (in my case Bryan, but all the therapists are great) wake up my muscles and make my whole body strong. When I started I could barely hold or repeat the motions. Now I am a 72 year old whizz. Bryan is a genius at knowing how to direct me. Something else - these exercises are not boring. They never take more than an hour to do. You can count on that. We always do a "before and after" climbing the stairs test. Seeing my progress after each hour of "work"makes is gratifying. There are people here older and much younger than I. I would say this system has potential for all! Go for it!!! read more

I am thrilled at how much relief I got after just one session of PT at ActivCore and I wish I'd have gone here sooner. I had never thought to do Physical Therapy but when I strained my ankle and after a couple weeks was still limping and in pain, I was told about ActivCore and their Redcord system. Redcord was new to me but now I want it at home just to exercise! It made me feel strong and was actually fun. I really feel like without doing the exercises on Redcord I'd be taking much longer to get back the strength in my ankle, and the swelling practically disappeared as I was there! Nick spent a full hour with me (practically unheard of for a PT to dedicate that much 1-on-1 time elsewhere) and was so personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. He really made me feel comfortable, educated me on my injury, and taught me what I can do at home to help. As a nurse I am on my feet all day so I didn't think I'd be able to heal as quickly as I am. You may or may not know this but I have been out of commission since Oct 24,2016. I haven't been able to dance or massage full out. If you know me well you know that I need to dance like I need to breathe. It lets me express myself in ways that I can't through words. Dance helped me cope with my low grade depression and anxiety. Due to my temp disability I no longer had that outlet and slowly started to fall back into a dark place. Thankfully I was able to pull my self out through changing my lifestyle and eating my way better. I literally started to "Eat to Live!" I have become a far smoother athlete as a result of consistent Activcore physical therapy. I see improvements after each session and highly recommend this group of professional, knowledgeable, and fun physical therapists. I am an Olympic hopeful training to qualify for the men's javelin throw, and have seen distinct progress as a result of working with Activcore. My therapist has been Bryan Carestia for training over the past year. Bryan is incredibly knowledgeable, skilled at giving helpful movement cues, and passionate about advancing his expertise. I also saw Nick Passe for one session, and was impressed with how thoroughly he had been briefed in preparation for our session; as well as impressed by how knowledgeable he was. After a full year of pain and PT I was pretty frustrated. Not only is my lifestyle active, but as a dancer and Pilates instructor I rely on my body for my work. I came to Red Cord on the advice of a friend who is also active, but I was not too hopeful after all the PT I had been through. About 3 years ago, I went to my doctor and found out that my labrum was torn in my shoulder. I had pain lifting my arm, had lack of mobility, and had lost all strength in my shoulder. My doctor told me that I can either try physical therapy and see if it got better, or get surgery. Without hesitation, I scheduled a session with Activcore and started working with Red Cord to better my shoulder. In about a half of month I found stability and strength coming back to my shoulder. Within about two months my shoulder was back to where it was before the injury and I was back doing pushups and doing upper body lifts. I was amazed! I fell on concrete steps and initially did traditional physical therapy with so much discomfort I stopped. I had surgery on the knee and was told I would need to have knee replacement. A friend in BNI recommended Activcore to me as another option. I'm delighted with the progress I've made with Nick Passe and Tyler Joyce. I've improved so much with the Redcord suspension therapy. Nick is very knowledgeable person and the treatment plan has not only improved my knee's strength but also helped me regain core strength. I was involved in a car accident and was experiencing severe neck pain, along with some back pain as well. I was sent to another physical therapy facility which, after 4 months had no affect on my pain or healing. When I started with Activcore,with Adrienne as my physical therapist, the healing began almost immediately. ActivCore is the only place I will now go to for Physical therapy. I injured my hamstring badly a few months ago. After not making any progress at another PT place, I was referred to ActivCore which has helped me in only 5 sessions! Bryan spent an entire hour with me each time, focused on specific stretches and exercises for my hamstrings - and my core and glutes, which had some strength imbalances & weren't working together as they should when my injury happened. Both the therapy & home exercises are super-targeted and I'm happy to say I'm at least 90% healed and a lot stronger now, which should help will prevent future injuries. I am a college athlete, competitive Cheerleading, and I was just about to win my second national title before I dislocated my shoulder. I had to get surgery to repair it, and I was extremely worried about not being healed an ready for my season. I got referred to Activecore, and I couldn't have been happier with my experience. I was a little skeptical about the Red Chord system at first, but it made me stronger than I ever anticipated post surgery. I came to Activcore seeking treatment for mid-back pain that I have been feeling for years from sitting at a desk for both school and work. Having always been conscious of my posture, my symptoms never really made much sense to me. I saw an orthopedist in hopes of a diagnosis, and seeked previous physical therapy and massage therapy treatments which helped initially, but never gave me the long lasting result I was looking for. ActivCore is not like any PT you've done before. I'm a licensed massage therapist and recommend it to clients, friends, and family members. My excellent therapist (Jason) was focused and ready to work each visit, and customized each session based on my needs. There is no such thing as a generic protocol here. Most importantly, he consistently asked for and responded to my feedback so that I got effective and efficient results (for nagging wear and tear from various activities and athletics). But the process only works if you come prepared to work, too. Don't expect to sit or lie on a table for a while with heat or ice, or to spend 10-15 minutes riding a bike to warm up. I had ankle surgery for a torn ligament and ankle instability. I started seeing Nick at Activcore about a month and a half post surgery, and within a couple weeks I was walking pain free and without any additional ankle support. I have never been to physical therapy where you get the therapist's full attention for the full time that you are there, and I think it makes a huge difference with the results of the therapy. Normally full recovery for my surgery would have taken close to two months, and I was almost back to normal within a month. With the one on one therapy and the use of redcords, my recovery with quick and pain free. Everyone in the office is very nice and a pleasure to work with. I had suffered from lower back pain for a few years .I had significant pain putting on shoes and socks. Chiropractic gave me temporary relief . "Conventional rehab didn't work too well either so I tried the Red Cord approach with Bryan C at ActivCore. After a few months I was pain free and have maintained that condition for more than a year with two or three "tune up" sessions.
