So I now want to get back into shape and reached out to Ryan. I met him at Physiq Fitness where he has been training now for over a year. First, I'm so happy to back with Ryan as he is well educated in fitness and knows what he's doing. I'm also amazed at this wonderful gym!!!! It's big and well equipped with every type of machine or weight. There's also an indoor pickleball court!!!! Membership is extremely reasonable and you can always get on the machines. So for cool points and theatrics, Rumble gets all the stars. However, as an actual gym that pays attention to new comers and individuals this is where I removed a star. This was my first time coming in for a workout and I truly had no idea what to expect, which is fine by me, I like being surprised, however some people may not have liked the experience as a newbie. My friend told me to come meet her, and gave me the heads up to buy hand wraps online to save money. So I did that. When I arrived I checked in. I was told first class I could rent boxing gloves for free. After that it's $5 rental. I asked "how does this work" about the class and workout. I was given a brief explanation and then I requested help with wrapping my new hand wraps. That went fine. Then the teacher called everyone into the back gym area. No greeting or checking in with me that I'm new. We just went to work. Now for me, this was all fine. I workout a lot and I do other group classes elsewhere and have a personal trainer, so I'm very aware how to workout without hurting myself and I pick stuff up pretty easily because I have a foundational base of safely lifting weights and body mechanics. But for someone new to fitness this class would have been a lot to grasp and not injure oneself by doing too much or using poor technique. (Since I was given no instruction). Long story short, Rumble is a cool boxing gym but maybe could use some encouragement to check in with new folks for any questions and give a high level overview, with a brief tutorial on how to safely do the moves (aka punches). I'll definitely go back, as I said it's a good and hard workout. I attended via ClassPass as I do most things, maybe that is why the experience was different? But either way, I've been to other places where they (meaning front desk staff and teachers) are more accommodating to a new person in their gym.

The workouts are challenging and inspire confidence and the staff of Coaches is so positive and encouraging that it helps me rise to the challenge and push myself further each time I come in. I can see how much strength I'm building and knowing that I can fit the sessions into my schedule helps me stay committed. As challenging as the sessions are, I know I can get through them. The 30-day Metabolic Comeback Challenge period really gave me the motivation to pick up and plug into the nutrition plan. Since I used to body build and compete everything here is perfect for me to get in a decent workout anytime I want. On top of that, even when there is more than a few people at this gym at certain peak hours, everyone is very respectful and literally just there to get their workout in (no BS). The owner Whitney is a well-known competitor and coach in the bodybuilding industry and her vibe is extremely friendly and kind. She was the one that gave me such a quick tour the day I walked in and obviously signed up for a monthly membership here. I was always feeling tired, bloated, and weak. For almost 2 months without a job I tried working out on my own. Going on walks with my dog, doing 24 minute HIIT's here and there in my own home, but I wasn't feeling any stronger and wasn't seeing the changes I wanted to see. One day my mom came home from seeing a personal trainer. She told me I would love her and should give it a shot. I had never worked with a personal trainer before. I have been on countless sport teams up until college. I had done workouts with friends. Did a program called BBG my sophomore year of college, but never thought of going to a personal trainer. The first day I went to see Nadine, changed my life for the better. Don't get me wrong, the first day was hell. I could easily see me working out on my own hadn't done much at all after one workout with Nadine. But, I knew I found someone who would push me. So, I kept showing up. I have been seeing Nadine constantly 2-3 times a week for 7 months. I know weight matters to some, so I will share that I have dropped down to 145lbs. I HUGE factor in that is nutrition. Which I am 90% vegan. HOWEVER. I have never felt SO strong. The weight doesn't matter to me. The physical appearance doesn't matter to me. What does matter to me is the feeling of being STRONG. 7 months of hard work. 7 months of her pushing me to places I didn't know I could be pushed, and showing me I'm hella of a lot stronger than I ever thought I was.
