This is an awesome community experience! We were shocked at how not busy it was- there were only a few other families there. It only costs a few dollars making it a cheap way to cool off. The staff is very concerned with water safety and taught us some new things we did not know. My only tip is not everything is open at once- for example the bigger slides and lazy river weren't open when we were there so maybe call ahead so you know what you're getting. I went to Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center with some friends on September 12, 2026, for the first time in about two years, and unfortunately, it just wasn't the same experience I remembered. The biggest difference was how much stricter everything seems to be now. Anyone under 17 has to take a swimming test just to use the diving boards, which honestly seems a little ridiculous, especially for older kids and teenagers who clearly know how to swim. Even the lazy river has become overly strict. In the past, I've always been able to enter from the exit if I was already right there, but now you absolutely MUST walk around and enter through the designated entrance. I understand having rules for safety, but some of these little things felt unnecessarily rigid and took away from the relaxed, fun atmosphere I remembered. The staff also seemed more annoyed and less friendly than during my previous visit. Nothing terrible happened, but the overall vibe was definitely different. I had such a great experience here two years ago, which is why I was excited to come back with my friends. Unfortunately, this visit just didn't live up to what I remembered. It feels like there are more rules, more restrictions, and a lot less of that easygoing, family-friendly atmosphere that made it so enjoyable before. read more

Came here for open swim while my daughter was in swim team practice. They offer open lap swim at 7pm. Not super busy but they only open the first four lanes for lap swim. Had to share my lane with one person but not a big deal since the lanes are fairly wide. Locker rooms were ok, typical public facility quality, but definitely clean. read more

This used to be our go-to pool for a large group of kids ranging from toddlers to teenagers. It was always clean, fun, and a place where we looked forward to spending our weekly pool days. Unfortunately, our recent visit was a completely different experience. The facility itself is still nice, but the staff training and overall management have dramatically declined. Many of the lifeguards appeared to be very young and poorly trained. Instead of calmly communicating with families, they were constantly yelling through cones, making it difficult to understand their instructions. Even children who are confident swimmers were being shouted at to either stay directly next to a parent or get out of the water if a parent wasn't within arm's reach. The approach felt more intimidating than educational. The most concerning part was how emergencies were handled. A child got a bloody nose, and several lifeguards immediately rushed over, creating unnecessary chaos. During the commotion, another lifeguard slipped while running. The entire pool was then evacuated for about 15 minutes, guests were pushed away from the area, and the fire department was called. The firefighters ultimately left without providing treatment, making the situation seem far more dramatic than necessary. We were there with a friend who works for the fire department, and even he was surprised by how the situation was handled. When I politely asked a manager what had changed, I was told they were implementing new safety procedures because they had fallen behind other municipal pools. While I fully support strong safety standards, there's a huge difference between being safety-conscious and creating an environment filled with panic, yelling, and confusion. My children have never been so uncomfortable or anxious at a pool. Safety should make families feel more secure, not more frightened. I sincerely hope the staff receive better training on communication, professionalism, and emergency response, because this experience was disappointing compared to what this pool used to be. read more

This place is so amazing!! As a teen girl in a big family who loves swimming, this place is somewhere I'd go every day of my life if I could. There are so many places to hang out and rest, and the pool goes pretty deep for people that like to dive (like me)! The only problem (from what I've hears) would be that we are not allowed to bring any coolers for our snacks--only small lunchboxes. But, considering we have a big family, small lunchboxes won't be nearly enough. Not that I really mind it, though. I'm more into swimming, anyway. I used to live right across the street from this but didn't have kids at the time so never went. Now that I have kids I went. And it was pretty nice. It isn't a full blown water park but it has plenty of things all ages can enjoy. Water is heated so not too cold. Cheap, sure beats the hell out of going to somewhere like Great Wolf Lodge. Ok been here twice...one was during the week which was busy (was somewhat cleaner) but one was on a Sunday (definetly don't recommend coming then). Both times though, it was just busy. Sunday was the worse. Just crazy busy and the water was disgusting and cloudy. There was so many people, so many kids, I honestly felt claustrophobic and just gross in the water after 20 minutes I just couldn't do it and left and probably won't be going again. 4.5 stars. What a deal! $2.25 for adults and $1 for kids?! Make sure to check the open play hours and options prior to arriving so it's actually open and what you want is available. It's packed and deservedly so for the price. If you've been to the Holiday Inn Vacation Club in Scottsdale it's compatible to that w/ a lazy river. It's not a water park so curb your expectations, but it's also not $30+ per person. The lady at the front desk was friendly and the lifeguards, although quiet, were visible and nearby. Wish it was closer (45 minute drive) because we would definitely be going there more often. It was very inexpensive about two dollars for myself and almost 2-year-old. There is plenty of shade. You can bring food and drinks in. I like that there were low chairs because it was easy for my toddler to get in and out of. The water area was large and I appreciate it being open a few days during the week once school starts. There were about 30 adults and kids there last week on a Thursday. There was no snack area open, but that's understandable with a few amount of people. Only the kid area and splash pad were open for play but the pool and lazy river were available for swimmers and walkers. Went today to meet up with my grandkids. I got there 30 min early to at the front of the line! It was worth it to get first pick for seating! We had a great time. I was very impressed with the life guards. It was reasonably clean and very fun! We will go again. Oh and it's soooo inexpensive! $1 for kids! 2.25 for adults I think. $1.25 for 55+! My family and friends had so much fun coming here! We enjoyed the kiddy area and lazy river. There was other fun stuff to do too. Definitely recommend coming here, especially if you live close and wanna get cool in the hot weather. It does get a little crowded so I would get there early or right when it opens. The set up of the pool is cool. The fact there is a lazy river is cool. They have a fun play structure for toddler which is nice. The day we went we have to wait in line for 45 minutes to get in. They were at capacity so when someone would leave someone could go int. When we finally got in it was insane. The lazy river was a horrible experience. It was just feet in your face and people splashing you. There was no room in there is was so crowded. I'm the pool kids were jumping in from all directions I was afraid one of my kids or myself was going to get jumped on. I learned my lesson. Never come here on a weekend. This place deserves 10 stars! My step-son is in town for Spring Break so we wanted to take him to a "water park". Well I searched water park on yelp and this aquatic center came up with great reviews. I looked up prices before we got there and it showed $1 for children and I believe $2.25 for adults. Anyway, we get there a little after 12 and there's tons of parking and walk up to pay and was told it's a $1 for the 5 of us. I'm confused because I thought it was more. The girl tells me from 12-2 it's only a dollar for the family. Deal! However, we never carry cash and was a little embarrassed that we had to use a card for a dollar. Lol! We got in and moved some chairs in the shaded area for our personal belongings and was off to enjoy the park. Our kids enjoyed everything from the lazy river to the slides. We just moved from WA and while there are aquatic centers, it's crazy with people and the prices aren't nearly as low. The kids were sad we had to go but I promised my littlest I'd take her back for her upcoming birthday. read more

This place is one of my favorite water parks. You won't even believe how cheap it is. It is one dollar for kids and two for adults! And it is so worth it. They have two water slides and a great lazy river, they even have more! And the lifeguards there are very nice and helpful. You could stay there almost all day. What a steal, only $2 to get in.  Even at the end of September, the water temperature was still warm despite the cooler week we had.  There are a ton of things for kids to do here including the lazy river, play area, free swim, diving boards, and a water slides varying in size.  There are also plenty of life guards around so you don't feel like your kids will ever be in danger.  Tip: Bring cash for concessions, and get there early in the day to avoid the rush.  There will be lines for the water slides during the daytime, but you'll be able to avoid most of those lines if you get there early enough when it opens, at least for the first 30 minutes.  Then you can go to the free swim and lazy lounge.  Bigger tip, if you come here during the summer, pick a day with light rain as this place is almost empty.  Your kids will love the lack of lines! read more

The location of the pool (relative to where I live) is hardest thing for me but I do like the facility and late evening adult lap swim! Plenty of lanes but usually 'busy' at 7pm. By busy, I may be looking to share a lane but not crowded or jammed packed. Pool has always been kept clean and by the end of the day expect to see some cloudiness but still better than other public pools. Expect a small fee or consider getting the punch card of your frequent visitor. Lifeguards are good and always alert. They have a great mini water park along with some slides and a lazy river that's a fav for many. Parking lot could use better lighting for safety. Not just for us customers, but the lifeguards at the end of the day. read more

This is my favorite of the Chandler Aquatic Center pools, as it just has so many great things. In addition to the massive pail that dumps thousands of gallons onto gleefully squealing children, there is a lazy river which floats you under a series of randomly spilled smaller buckets, a whirlpool where you and your little one can swirl, a spouting fun house with slides for the kids, wet tube slides and a splash pad. The lockers are located inside the bathrooms, which keeps them nice and cool... and they're only a quarter... not $10 like some SoCal amusement parks... however, I do get some quizzical looks as I enter the women's' restroom, with locker key noticeably displayed in my right hand, to retrieve my belongings. There is a little snack trailer on the premises, which peddles all the things you love which are void of any nutritional value. Just today, I scored a hot dog, slice of pizza, bag of chips and an Italian ice... which ended up being the biggest purchase of the day at $7.50. There are 3 shaded picnic benches there, but dont think you'll get to sit while you dine... because three families got there before you did, and are now roosting in that prime real estate. This place does get crowded, but hey, they will always be on the receiving end of my $3.25 read more

For a public pool, Mesquite Groves has it goin' on. You should visit while it's still new. Highs: 2 water slides (and they are respectably fast for a city pool), lazy river, water vortex, large kiddie play area with assorted sprayers, fountains and a dump bucket. Separate large pool with lap lanes open at all times, 2 diving boards, large deep water swimming area and a basketball hoop in an area of about 4-5' depth. Admission is $1.50 for adults and .50 for kids. This pool is planning on remaining open year round as well. read more

This pool is awesome! Kids are $1.00 to get in, adults are $2.25. Pool has really good hours, and lots of room. Locker rooms are ample, with lockers, bathrooms and changing areas, showers and of course, toilets. Two swimming areas, one is more for the kids, and the other is for the adults. There's diving boards, life guards, and several places to sit and lay out to catch some rays. The only downside to this place is that its always packed! Get here early to get a place to sit, as it fills up quickly. Water is refreshing, parking is ample, and despite it being one of the busier pools in the area, is worth the time for the refreshment alone. read more

We went here over the weekend. It was my two step-kids, baby, husband and myself. I told him if we went between 12 and 2 we could all go in for 1 dollar but he decided he wanted to go an hour later at 3... why? I don't know. Anyways, my two older kids had a blast. They go here every summer and love the lazy river and slides. This was the first time my daughter came and I was just playing with her very close to the beginning of where the concrete slopes down into the water-where the huge bucket was. I swear we had to move like 7 times because kids were running into the water and splashing her face. There was another kid that had a toy squirt gun and was swinging it around and almost hit my daughter TWICE. By the second time I yelled at him and he got scared and ran to his dad. Trust me I stared at his dad for a good 5 mins. PARENTS: Please watch your children, because if not your child will me marched over to you by me! I understand that kids are here to have fun but what if your kid was the one that got hit/hurt by another child. Wouldn't you do the same thing?! This place is pretty awesome! I've been here a couple times now with my boys, and they have a blast! They have a little of everything from a lazy river you can ride around,to the big splash pad with the huge bucket dropping water on you. There is a food cart on the weekends (not sure if it's all week) with snacks and some food items such as pizza and hot dogs while they last (cash only). The place is cheap to get into as well, and overall just a fun place to beat the heat in the valley. If you're looking for a great splash pad in the valley I'd say this is it! read more
