I've seen amazing results after each visit. These are hard-to-find and hard-to- eradicate injuries that require a lot of expertise. These therapists are highly skilled and do a terrific job. Yes, you can get a massage anywhere in Sacramento for $30. You're going to pay a lot more to get worked on here because this is no ordinary massage. If you have persistent or worrying muscle and joint pain, the kind that a lot of us middle-age folks get in the ordinary course of life, do yourself a favor and go here. I will open this by saying - Dr. Scott Saberniak is a godsend. I have visited a LOT of chiropractors in my past. Because of having to work from home because of COVID-19, and my non-ergonomic home work station, my body seriously was taking a beating. Having been fed up with my situation, and having Active Bodywork been recommended to me by a friend, I made the conscious decision to make an appointment to see Dr. Scott. Truth be told, I didn't want to be premature with this review as I wanted to instantly write a review after my first visit. But three visits in, the feelings have not changed. I take that back, they HAVE changed as they've increased more positively. Dr. Scott has increased my range of motion, as well as taken away a lot of my aches and pains, and I am seriously in awe with how much improvement happens when I walk out of there compared to when I walk IN for my appointment. I booked a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Michelle, this was my first time receiving any form of a deep tissue/sports massage. It was a great! I come here for my deep tissue massages. If I don't feel pain when getting massaged, my brain tells me it isn't effective. This place is REALLY effective. As a runner, I come here when things feel too tight to be good or if I have a big race coming up. It always hurts but you can feel them working the knots out. If you come here for a massage you will understand why people say things like "I feel young again." I'm only 23 and it makes me feel like a brand new person the next day. My neck tension will be gone. The muscles pulling on my knees will be looser and cause less pain. If I were to spend more money on myself, it would be for regular massages here. If you want a relaxing massage as part of a spa day, this probably isn't your spot. But if you're an athlete or someone looking for a massage that's really going to fix things in your body, you've found the place. read more

After moving back to Sacramento (and away from an amazing Chiro/massage center) I stopped taking time to care for myself in the way I used to. After a few years of poor body mechanics (parenting), neglecting small pains, and some mediocre massages, I hit a wall and finally made a choice to get back on track. Active BodyWorks in Midtown has been a lifesaver! The entire staff is so friendly (and fun), I appreciate how much they care about their patients as people (and not just a body to work on). My sessions with both chiropractic and massage are specific to my needs and focus finding long term solutions that I can manage outside the office. I feel empowered to have my health in my hands and confident in my success (present, future, and beyond). If I had any feedback, it would be to perhaps have scheduling online a bit easier to navigate (I was so confused my first time). I had THE worse massage ever here. The masseuse used a "gun" for most of the massage. Felt pretty good at the time but later my sore muscles got inflamed. I was up most of the night in pain icing and taking pain meds. The masseuse said he had a great feel. Not!!! Never going back. read more
