I had an orial emergency yesterday and needed to get a tooth problem fixed ASAP. I called active dental & after a few rings my call was answered by a friendly voice. After explaining my situation she was able to get me scheduled & set the expectation that there was a possible wait time when i arrived - I appricated her giving me that information so I was able to bring some work with me to fill the space as i waited. As I walked through the door the receptionist created me by name with a smile, this was Great! As I knew they were expecting me & this defenetly made me feel welcomed. Much to my surprise, my wait was under 5 min, when the dentist assistant called me to the back. Melissa was very friendly. She helped me relax and offered me a few recommendations to help me get my issue fixed for same day. She was able to move a few things around scheduling wise to allow me to leave the dentist office and return with a few things I needed to get the dental work done. She explained everything I needed to do step by step & showed so much empathy for my situation. Everything you would expect from a medical expect. Dr. Patel was great, friendly & and to complete my dental work flawlessly!!! The ladies at the payment desk were also very pleasant to work with. Overall GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!! read more

I went to Active Dental and saw Dr. Patel. I have been very pleased with my experience thus far. I was referred to Dr. Patel and very skeptical of dentists because I didn't like my old one. Dr. Patel is awesome. For people that care about getting good treatment and understanding more about dental health and dental care -- see Dr. Patel. He spends a lot of time with his patients (unusual for any doctor) and ensures that everyone understands what needs to be done to improve. I hadn't been to the dentist in about 5 years -- he walked me through what was going on, things i could do to improve, and wrote a treatment plan to correct what was going on. The treatment option was good too -- affordable and the staff is very friendly. During my filling appointment, Dr. Patel had to numb me twice because I had a deep cavity, but was very helpful and explained the whole process. In terms of the treatment plan, I support Dr. Patel's approach. Dr. Patel is relatively conservative -- he will try other options before jumping to the most invasive and costly one, which I always appreciate. If I had liked the experience at my old dentist's office as much as Dr. Patel's then I would have gone more. It's a great office, great treatment, and experience for patients. Dr. Patel, though young, is a dentist with fantastic technique and great chair-side manner. I needed a number of fillings, with one needing quite a bit of tooth removal, yet each and every filling was completely painless while the procedures were being done, after the numbing medication wore off, and more than a week later-- not one issue. Dr. Patel explained every step of the process, and answered questions I had about the tools he used, and most importantly he spent extra time making sure the restorations were shaped and polished smoothly. The office staff is friendly and easy to work with on appointments and payment options, and they schedule their appointments so you aren't wasting time in the waiting room; a big plus mentioned by other reviewers and a point I can verify with all three of my appointments. My experience with dentists have been mostly with older dentists and yet Dr. Patel has the skills and professionalism comparable to those more experience dentists. As I'm VERY conscious when it comes to my oral hygiene, I've visited Dr. Patel w/Active Dental, numerous times for my annual & biannual cleanings. However, for the last few times it seems as though every time I go, they tell me I have 3 to 4cavities; again "so they say"!!! So this time after seeing him, I decided to get a second opinion. I was told by my second opinion of whom has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years, that I actually did NOT have a single cavity! From a price point, I did call around to two different dentists, to compare prices apples to apples with the Active Dental treatment plan. And both came in $125 to $200 less than active dental. Needless to say, I won't be going back. And while very disappointed and I could go on to express my disappointment, respectfully, this is all I'm going to say on the matter. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for medical and dental providers. I initially requested an appointment with his partner Dr. Strickland but agreed to see Dr. Patel. I was pleasantly surprised. I have had dental "concerns" for over 20 years but found the treatment plans suggested by over a dozen dentists from all across the US ( I travelled a lot) were either too invasive or too ambiguous. As some of the reviews indicated, Dr. Patel has excellent bedside manner which I found unusual but commendable in today's healthcare environment. The treatment plan was clearly explained and my views equally taken into consideration and respected. Kudos to the staff especially the dental hygienist! It appears that he is the real deal! I am always very reserved when it comes to posting a positive review. I have had a lifetime of dental challenges, and have been seen by numerous dentists and specialists over the years. I can honestly say that Doctor Patel is better than any previous dentist I have had. He is more thorough, more compassionate, more relatable, more gifted than any other dentist I have ever been to. When you add into the equation the cutting edge technology he effortlessly uses, I can solemnly state there is no better dentist out there. I really believe and know this. I love this place. My children and I have been going here since they opened and have always had great service. They are very comprehensive in their exams and never try to push any additional or unnecessary procedures on you. Dr. Patel will explain in detail all that he sees and make suggestions and then let you decide what is best. Everyone in the office is so sweet and so flexible. I have a crazy work schedule and they always do everything they can to accommodate my schedule and my kids. Both of my children live outside Dallas right now, but I have never had a problem getting them in on short notice when they show up for a weekend!! Dr. Patel and his staff have been SUCH a delight! I've had a few different services done by him the newest of which was a crown (my first ever, and I was SO frightened!!!). Dr. Patel and his staff explained the procedure to me (twice) and made sure I was at ease every step of the way. He's very confident in what he is doing, and treats you as a fellow human being, not a file number with a credit card...and I sincerely appreciate that. The man has the magic touch when it comes to pain, and I can't express enough how appreciative I am of their kindness and abilities! I'm not a fan of the dentist and have a tendency to procrastinate between visits. My boyfriend has been going to Dr. Patel for 6 years and highly recommended him. Dr. Patel and, just as important, his staff were professional and friendly. They took the time to listen to my concerns and questions then proceeded with a thorough exam and treatment plan. Most importantly, they were not pushy. They provided a detailed treatment plan with exact costs for me to review and decide on a practical course of action that I can afford. Active dental is a well-run, friendly practice. Dr. Patel and his staff have drastically improved my dental health in the last 4 years, and made keeping up with dental care easy. The staff at Active Dental are excellent. They are very helpful and courteous. They make me feel like I am at home. The whole process goes very smoothly and I am never in pain afterwards. i have been going to active dental for about a month and the doctor and the staff are wonderful. during this covid time i observed the staff santizing the counters, chairs and equipment and social distancing and having the customers using hand santizing and taking there temperature. this really impressed me on my first visit and i said this would not be my last visit. if you are looking for a excellent dentist and a excellent staff active dental is the place to come. read more

Dr. Patel is very patient and listens to all your needs. My husband and I have been seeing him for almost 4 years now and now our 2 year daughter sees him as well. She loves him as well, as he is very patient with her and kid friendly. The staff there are also very nice and helpful. They all always have a smiling face when you go. I took my niece who came to visit me in Irving to Active Dental because her retainer broke. We were seen promptly by Dr. Patel. He offered a very sincere/unbiased opinion even though that meant us not having to replace the retainer with his clinic or having to pay any fee.
