There was also sea cucumber one day (I don't mind it). I also started off on a diabetic diet which they could easily accommodate. Then once I got the clearance from my doctor, switched to a regular diet. The variety was great, never had a repeat meal. The drinks are the same every day but the main meal item (usually a soup of some sort) was different everyday. Customer service is impeccable, quick to respond. I don't speak Mandarin but all communication is over text message and email in English so no issues there. The lady who delivered the meals always gave us notice about her approximate ETA and confirmed when she had dropped it off right away. I also asked them to pause meals for a week while I had family visiting who were going to be cooking for us and bringing us food and I knew I couldn't eat both. This concept got my noggin thinking... In late March, I'll be staying home for several weeks and won't be able to do my usual restaurant hops and check-in's. I'm pretty sure I'll be requiring their service by then. Plus, that kung pao chicken is calling my name again... I've tried other meal services and the vegetarian options are always carb heavy- not with Vegan Garden! They offer some carbs coupled with a lot of veggies! And the calorie count is so reasonable! I don't feel guilty eating the meal when it's around 200 calories whereas other services are around 500 per serving. My only feedback is that the paper that the muffins are baked in is very thin which makes the muffins tricky to get out of the paper without some paper sticking to the muffin. Choice lunch contracts their Friday pizza out to local Papa John's in the area. I have a friend who owns a Papa John's who was contacted for the contract and he was shocked at their low ball offer. They also now offer pizza pockets everyday of the week and it's all bread and barely any filling. The kids take two bites and throw it away. The only item I believe is worth ordering (as an adult) are the salads. A few times the salad was inedible because the lettuce was wet, soggy, brown and Choice Lunch refunded my money right away. *Their customer service is excellent.* You are better off making your child buttered noodles at home (save $6.46 for the small and $7.82 large).
