I reached out desperately needing an advocate after years of frustration, confusion, and getting nowhere with the school district. After just one consultation, they joined me at my sons' IEP meeting the following week, and I was in absolute shock at how much they were able to accomplish after just one meeting. What started with one IEP quickly turned into a series of strategic, intentional meetings, each one bringing us closer to accountability and real solutions. It wasn't overnight, but their consistency and pressure made all the difference. They asked all the right questions, the kind that only an experienced advocate would know to ask. That level of passion, knowledge, and care is rare and it's exactly what every parent of a child with special needs deserves. Our son has gained so much confidence, and it has been amazing to watch his personal growth. Even more importantly, his health has improved in his time here. He was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood epilepsy, and in the short time he has been at I Can Academy, we have seen his seizure activity cut in half. I believe this is due to a few factors including the positive environment and less stress. We are incredibly grateful for the support, understanding, and positive environment he has received. The teachers are amazing. A few of them are teachers my children have had in the past which made for an easy transition for my son. I hope our experience helps another mom who may be on the fence about homeschooling, just like I was, because for our family, the benefits have by far outweighed any of the negative ideas I had in my head.

The office staff was so warm and welcoming, and our daughter loved picking out her supplies to create her own I Can Academy bag. Her teacher was incredibly kind and created such a positive, engaging learning atmosphere. During the class, I even heard my daughter shout, "I can read!" When it ended, she was smiling and excited to bring home new flash cards to practice blending sounds. A few days later, she had an assessment at a private school for kindergarten, which included sounding out letters and blending them. She did so well--and I couldn't believe how quickly the lessons from the academy had already made an impact. This is absolutely the place to go if you want a warm, child-first learning experience. He is so relieved to be at a different school now. It was also very clear the staff had A strong dislike for my son. They actually said they dnt think there's anything they can do to help him. I found out in our iep meeting that they weren't even giving him chance to be in the classroom everyday they would just escort him to a room where no work was done. He was disciplined essentially every morning right at the door without a fresh start opportunity to join the class. I would recommend my son says his current school has transfers from Olive Crest who share a similar experience and are so traumatized they cannot complete work in the classroom or at all.
