I paid for a professional install but received poor workmanship. The wiring was unsafe (bad ground, incorrect fuse setup), which caused my amp to go into protection mode and even led to a melted fuse. This could have caused serious electrical damage or even a fire. I had to fix the issues myself. Very disappointed--would not trust this shop again. He also stated that I had no clue what I was talking about but coincidentally my cousins truck that I had recommended to this shop as well had the same exact issue and low quality work. read more

Carlos is the best! I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee that I put a dent in years ago, and I needed a backup camera to ensure that it wouldn't happen again. And a unit that was compatible with Apple CarPlay. And that had a large floating screen. Carlos made a recommendation and I went home to research it. I discovered that unit he recommended had 4 camera inputs! The world opened up for me. I got in touch with my desire to have the safety features that new cars have. I had ordered a stereo head unit and harnesses from Crutchfield and thought I had the know-how to install it myself. It wasn't until I pulled the old unit out (not a stock unit) and saw all of the extra wires that I realized I was in over my head. I used Yelp's job request tool and Carlos from Active Sound was the first and fastest reply. He came in with a competitive quote and had his installer available the next day (not sure if it's always that soon, but it worked out for me!). When I brought my vehicle in, I had a box full of harnesses and wires, and Carlos looked unfazed. I was really worried that some things wouldn't get done right (I'm very type A), but I was completely wrong. Thought active sound was the place to go, but as soon as the equipment in my car started malfunctioning, I saw a different side of Carlos. It's disturbing that instead of being professional, he acted in a different manner. The alarm he put in my old car, I had him put in my new car,(t13 compustar) he tapped into the brake switch the wrong way, and had my crash sensors going off, he put this Memphis 14 inch sub(none of the wires were secured)in and stated if I don't like it he would put what I want in, at first it was okay by the 3rd month my woofer had blown, after he told me it was okay to push it cause i had a warranty, now when my speaker blew he took it destroyed it for warranty reasons, it was almost a month in and i still didnt have my sub back even though he gave me a 10 inch loaner box, because of the situation, my amp(cerwin vega) went out 2 times, in a 3 month period. He took my herzt door speakers out because he said they were not working properly, which was a lie, just to sell me his own brand for way too much 414.00 to be exact for 2 6 1/2s ...( I think they were audio dynamics). he installed my led lights underneath my car, which went out!!! There are now these ugly holes in my interior from him mounting the amps, just a poor job all around,he is all about money and not taking care of his customers; you can only hide your true colors for so long..... I took my car to another stereo shop, which I'm absolutely HAPPY with. He responded on yelp and states he did free jobs which he did not; he only fixed things that went wrong because his equipment failed which was under warranty so yes I have EVERY RIGHT to complain, also he stated that my finance company said I had been red flagged lmbo okay but I have new financing right now (from them)for the new shop that had to fix what he did wrong... I'm sorry you look down your nose at people who finance, but I still have to pay it. Never does a finance company give you anything for free; they would actually make you return it, so lie some more.... so unprofessional... Oh, and let's talk about the snap. I paid them off in 3 months like I normally do, and they were still TAKING money from my account, hence the reason why I will never deal with them again......and the last item is what you said about local shops lmao the only other stereo shop I went to locally was ALL FOR SHOW,and people reading this let me tell you that place is a Joke!!!! I'm never shady, just honest, and most people don't like that!!!!! I don't have a husband, but that same person you are referring to just doesn't have the mouth I have to speak up. his own mechanic said the alarm work you did on his Suburban was crappy it was secured. They did an ok job but they kept my external mic and the extra relay I left in case it was needed I asked about the microphone and was only told that because it's an open air vehicle that the one built in the radio was better than the external with the cover but I wanted it back and had to ask for the extra toggle switch back that was suppose to be for the remote wire to turn off the amp when needed and then the price went from 600 to 800 and they didn't hook up all the wiring and didn't put all the screws back in and they kept all of the extra screws and locking clips left over from body and the sub box I think they overcharged cause if they have done the same model they should've been quicker and the sub box was made for my 2021 Polaris slingshot but they seemed like they had not done it before and didn't know that they stuff I brought was for cause I had bought everything needed to install I tried to do the install but wiring I was unfamiliar with and wasn't getting sound from speakers but I had to get a new amplifier cause mine was to big to fit where I wanted it installed so I bought a smaller sized amp with the same amount of power for 200 so I got charged 600 for just the install. read more

Very good service, they did what 4 other shops could not accomplish, I even emailed compustar (which is the alarm system I bought through amazon) and they emailed me back saying they don't have the firmware for my truck and to get my money back from amazon.
