This is actually one of my favorite thrift stores in my area. The size of the store is the perfect size. Store employees are nice and helpful always. The prices... well the prices are my favorite part because they are reasonable for used goods and definitely makes me want to splurge and keep coming back. The selection of items is very large. I have pretty picky standards for thrifting--e.g. most items must either be new or very gently used condition for me to purchase unless they're a restoration project, such as an #8 Griswold cast iron skillet. And there are some things that I simply won't purchase in used condition, such as undergarments, pyjamas, or swimsuits. I was so, so impressed by ACTS Thrift on Foothill. The place was packed with items and very well organized. Clothing was at the center/front part of the store, while the furniture was center back and household items/appliances were along the walls. Most items in every part of the store seemed in much better condition than the Goodwill down the block. The place had at any given time 10-15 browsers on a weekday. There are fitting rooms for shoppers to try on items--but there's no mirror inside the rooms--it's outside them. Certain items are behind the counter such as some shoes, electronics, and a wedding dress that you need to ask for assistance. Most days of the week there are discounts: Monday is 50% off a specific tag color, Tuesdays seniors (55+) get 20% off, Wednesdays students, pastors, and military get 20% off with ID, Thursdays everything is 40% off until closing, Fridays you get a coupon for 50% off one item, and Saturdays if you go early, you get 30% off your entire purchase. I was pleased to see at ACTS that there were solid plus size offerings (e.g. 14-18) with professional clothes (suiting separates). I gasped to find two new bras in my weird size with retailer tags still on ($50 Le Mysterie brand, $85 for SOMA brand) that ACTS wanted $4.99/each--SOLD! I also purchased a woven hat to shade me from the sun today, which was $1.99 and had tags. When I went to check out, I was offered a coupon for 50% off one item on my next visit. Which will likely be very soon as this place is bomb! read more

Large variety of items, half the store is priced like a thrift store while half the store is priced way too high for a thrift store (used items priced as if they are brand new from the store). This is my favorite thrift store! The prices are affordable, and I love the sales they have throughout the week. Thursday's are the best time to go because of their 40% off evening sale. Sign up for their points system- when you reach 100, you get $10 off a $20 purchase. They have a parking lot around back, and it can be tricky to find. This is my all time favorite thrift store. I always come here when I'm in town. They're prices are amazing! They always have a good amount of furniture and Knick knacks. The baby clothes are 75 cents a piece and I always find name brand! It's perfect for me because my daughter out grows everything so quickly. The people that work here are so nice. They are always polite and helpful and are easy to talk to. They seem to have pride in there work. What I would like to know is that I was told when I called the Pasadena store about daily sales was that you could combine the weekly 50% off color tag with 20% off teacher, student, pastor, and military discount. When I did go to the Pomona store I was told that the only % sales that they combine was for the seniors. What makes this different then want I told? Will you honer what was said? Maybe I'm not too adept at certain aspects of thrift shopping. I came here searching for furniture while my car was getting an oil change nearby. I know most of the furniture people give here are old and real wood (i.e heavy as fXck), but if it's not specifically in a vintage shop I don't really expect to pay $100 for something at a thrift store. There was nothing under $100 here and even with the discount if you happen to come on the right day and time why wouldn't you just go buy something from a store and get a warranty and return policy. Savers in Arcadia had dressers ($24.99) for cheaper so I know I'm not crazy for being shocked at these prices. read more

The GOOD: Good quality merchandise. Good finds. Decent prices. Good sales. Ample Parking. Well-managed, well-maintained. Easy check-out. The NOT SO GOOD: They need more merchandise. (They're new, so that might resolve itself). Found a couple of clothing items I wanted, but had holes. (That does nothing but irritate customers. Just don't put them out if they have holes!) Lastly, they don't rotate stock out often enough. I've come in about once a week since they opened, and it's basically the same merchandise, with a few things added. (again, they're new. This will probably resolve itself). Overall great store worth visiting! (Not as good as the previous thrift store in that location where you could shop everyday and find new items, and NEVER a hole found in clothing in the five years I shopped there.) But comparing two different stores does no good, this is a fine store. read more

A good store, but not as great as the old Pasadena site on Locus. The clothes are well organized, the toys and books not as much. The office supplies are not as complete as at the old store. The electronics are OK, not as high quality as I would expect. They do offer good toiletries for sale. The bathroom leaves a little something to be desired. OK, but not worth a long drive if you don't like in Pomona. The old Pasadena store was more of a destination. read more

This is a huge, beautiful, well stocked new store. So impressive and well run. The staff is friendly and helpful. I'm told they get lots of new items everyday. I've found great brands of clothing and some unique housewares. Some of the furniture is amazing. I'm so happy to have this store in our neighborhood. One great thing I like about ACTS Thrift Store I really appreciate is that much of their merchandise and profits have gone to help other non-profits from Pomona to Pasadena.
