They're super nice to you on the first day and then afterwards, they are IMPOSSIBLE to reach. They don't bother returning any of your calls about picking up glasses, contacts or prescriptions, and yet they'll chase after you to collect a bill. My first appointment with them seemed promising as they told me that my insurance covered glasses prescription but not contacts. I was going to decline but then the optometrist at the time, Dr. Haumie, told me that if I decided to get the contacts prescription that same day, she would offer me a discount of $75 even though they're normally $130. If they make the same offer to you, make sure you get it signed in writing. Otherwise, they will bill you for the full $130 and gaslight you into thinking that you're the one who didn't hear it correctly because they "would never offer that, so the customer must have been mistaken." It'll come down to he said, she said, and here at Acuity, their motto is "THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG AND WE'RE ALWAYS RIGHT." Even though, they do get it wrong. Multiple times. Not only during my experience with them, but with many other patients. Not only did they bill me for $130, they never provided me with the contact lens prescription. So they basically remembered to bill me, but forgot to send me the lens prescription they billed me for. Also, when Dr. Haumie tried to put contacts on me for my first time, I said it stung and asked if they'd ever happen to a patient before and she laughed and said "No. NEVER." Found out later the contacts she used on me has a liquid that can be irritating to some patients. I also talked to other contact-wearers and optometrist friends who have said that is a common thing so either Dr. Haumie was lying and taking me for a fool, or quite inexperienced. The contacts I tried using a different solution felt better, even though it did make my vision blurrier for a short while after removing them. All in all, I don't trust anything they prescribe now. When I came into the office to pick up my glasses, they still didn't have the contact lens prescription and told me to make an appointment to do so. When I called to do that, they said they would email it to me, but I never received the email. Turns out they told me they'd send me the email without having my email on file. So I called again to provide my email for them to send me the contact lens prescription, and they sent me the WRONG ONE. Then the manager got on the phone to tell me that contact lenses aren't covered by my insurance so it's $130 and basically said they'd hold my contact lens prescription hostage until I paid it, not knowing I had already made sure they sent it to me before addressing the bill issue. This was April 16, 2024, about 2 MONTHS after my visit on Feb 20, 2024. It took them that long to email my prescription to me. I still agreed to pay them what they quoted me as a courtesy, even though I know I don't have to and they couldn't do anything and yet they were still trying to fight me on it. Just the incompetence alone makes me lose my trust in them, not to mention all the dishonesty. I had to hand-hold them doing their job the entire way and they still had the nerve to claim that THEY DON'T MAKE MISTAKES?! I'll bet someone will respond and say point blank "We would never say that. We don't make mistakes" because management taught them to keep saying that over and over again, hoping the customer would just relent and be brainwashed into believing that they were the ones who are wrong, rather than genuinely investigate the matter and consider the possibility that it could potentially be an error they made on their part or gasp, actually APOLOGIZE? I'll be waiting for them to mess up again and send me another bill for $130 and then deny that management ever said they'd just bill me the promised $75 since they just make up their own truth until called out about it. So, I straight up just recorded the conversation. I'd keep the CDI on speed dial with these folks and keep a record of everything. read more

I had to go twice to get my glasses. They did it wrong twice, I didn't go the third time to correct it because is a waste of time. This is for anyone who is in my shoes that was up for surgery and couldn't find reviews. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a surgery scheduled but couldn't contact the surgery coordinator. I called everyday for a months, and the front desk was baffled how even after they themselves reached out to supervisors, I wasn't called.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Eventually I had to reschedule my surgery sadly because they did not contact me. They apologized and had to reschedule me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I got the personal cell of the director of surgery , and explained to her the situation, and she reassured me someone would call this time, a week goes by nothing, and I call her back and she says "oh today they will" another week, and nothing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Eventually we are 2 weeks away AGAIN from my rescheduled surgery and not once did the "director Ms rivera" seem to care THAT no one would call after she swore someone will.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The week following my appointment I called everyday to get my details and shoutout to the front desk who would push and push for someone to call me, but no one did, Ms Rivera never got back to me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ignored my emails and texts , and should zero care in the quality of care she gives. Zero pride in her work. Eventually I had to pick up glasses at another location and the optometrist there told me, "if I was you, I would NOT have surgery" this company is a mess and very unprofessional. We came to see Dr. Alasil after my mom was told by urgent care to get to an ophthalmologist as soon as possible because she had a protruding cornea. She was in excruciating pain and could not see or open her eyes. When we got to the office, two different assistants ask us questions, scanned her retina and dilated her pupils. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we finally saw the doctor, he did not introduce himself and we were put in the kids waiting room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we left the office my mom even stated, "That was the doctor?" She had no idea he was even the ophthalmologist! [[HIGHLIGHT]]He was cold from the start.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]As he began some eye tests on my mom, that hurt her eyes more btw, he did not explain anything he was doing or show an ounce of sympathy or empathy because of the pain she was in![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After doing the tests, he never explained any of the reasons for her eye pain or a solution. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While asking me which medication she was taking he did not make eye contact with me and he cut me off while I was still speaking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He was seeing two clients at once, so his full attention was not on my mother's needs. He ended up prescribing her an eye ointment that only blinded her more and isn't helping the pain. Antillon became a patient of Dr. Grant in the year of 2020. I have been seen by Dr. Grant and his medical team several months for examinations also follow-up appointments for a thorough eye examination and determination. Prior, in seeing Dr. Grant and his staff; I have been seen by many eye doctors since 1971; numerous amount of eye surgeries took place for several years. Each separate eye operation where done to repair a swaying left eye and centering it correctly. The fact of the matter, was, it could not be deliverable; nor any of those eye operations concord successfully. Doctors' had discussed with me, extensive operations to the muscle of the eye that took place; incisions to the muscle were exhausted by leaving the eye in no working order. I was disappointed and had lost all hope. Dr. Grant took upon himself, carefully examined my eye. Based on his expertise, skills and true judgment; he was more than capable to make the final decision that lead up to, the surgery room. I am updating my review because the ONE PERSON who ever made sense at this location was recently fired!!! Jennifer did what no one at Acuity was willing to do for the 16 months between when I had my eyes examined at this location and when I actually got my glasses. YES, it took them 16 months and threat of fraud for them to actually give me the glasses that were paid for 16 months before. When Jennifer got me my glasses, she was new to this location, I had seen 5 people in her position in the 16 month wait for my glasses. I told Jennifer if I ever came back to that eye group it would be ONLY because she was so amazing! And then they FIRED JENNIFER!!!? I went in and was told she was fired. So, again I say, I would NEVER recommend ACUITY EYE CENTER, at any location because on a corporate level they have repeatedly gotten it so wrong. Also, I had the lady eye dr. at this location (who was incredibly rude, repeatedly) tell me she wanted to dilated my eyes. I asked her if, "I would be able to drive home after?" She said, "You should be able to." That is not the yes I needed so I declined. That same day as I sat waiting I heard her tell the staff to call an uber for another lady; whose eyes she dilated!!! This is irresponsible; and who do you think paid for that Uber, and the one back to get her car the next day? And that lady's car spent the night in an abandoned area. No bueno. I have now had the pleasure of being seen not only by Dr. Grant but also Dr. Pham. I've been seeing optometrists regularly since I was like 6 (thanks to my vision being so bad LOL) and since I've left my hometown and moved to LA, I've been looking for a new optometry office to make my permanent place to go for eye care. I have finally found it. I initially saw Dr Grant a few months ago due to some eye pain issues and I was very happy with the care and instructions I received to help with my problem. He was professional and very efficient. His advice worked and I was no longer so miserable and in pain. Fast forward to now and needing a routine eye exam to get a new prescription and some contacts: Dr. Pham is PHENOMENAL! She was very kind and thorough throughout my exam. She spoke to me in a way that I felt she cares about her job and patients. She explained some things to me that I have not ever known (even though I've had regular eye exams for like 27 years of my life now). Since I'm trying a different brand of contacts due to previous issues, she encouraged me to really use the trial period for the contact lenses (again something no other optometrist has done which partly caused some of the issues I had with my eyes). I couldn't say enough nice things about the doctors here. I am happy to have a place for eye care that I am happy with! Book your appointment enough in advance because they've been busy!! read more

Had a scheduled appointment for 9:45-am... When I arrived .. I could not believe my eyes .. There were 12 patients waiting in a very small waiting area .. Packed-in like Sardines in a can...No social-distancing at all...I mean .. The space was freaking packed... Not to mention .. They had patients standing in the hall-way as well .. The office is nice, clean, and well kept. The staff is friendly, professional and extremely helpful. They treat you qith the utmost respect. Dr. Pham is the most caring and trustworthy doctor I have met in California! She is very very friendly when she talks to me and she is willing to tell me everything she knows about my dry eye condition. When I reach out to her, she is ALWAYS very helpful and responsible. She knows that I am a student and financially restricted, she made many phone calls just to help me get discount for my prescriptions and she gave me some free samples too! I know a lot of doctors want their patients to do LASIK but when I consulted her about LASIK, she didn't suggest me to do it right away. She insisted that I needed to address my dry eye issues before doing that surgery. It turns out to be the best decision I have ever made. With this regard, she saved my life. I cannot imagine what my life would be like if I have done LASIK with dry eyes. Dr. Pham deserves a higher salary :p read more

I agree that Dr. Grant is a very good doctor. Great bedside manner. Very patient with my elderly mother. But has everyone experienced as long of a wait as us? Our appointment was at 1:30. We arrived about 1:29. It's 4:24 and we are still waiting to see Dr. Grant. This place is unprofessional like speechless. I had an appt this afternoon and I live an hour away from this location so I left home early. I was on my way and they called me and said they don't take my insurance. They called me an hour before my appointment. Really? I waited more than a month to see a doctor and they canceled my appointment an hour before my appointment. I'm so upset that I wasted my whole month, now I have to book a new appt and wait another month to see a doctor. The lady told me that she can only check patient's insurance a day before. Okay why didn't you call me yesterday then? I wouldn't cancel my work and waste my gas and time today. I had a great experience at this location in servicing my eye care needs. After my first initial visit the Dr. and all of the supporting staff remembered me by name which says a lot! I Dr. Pham was very excellent at informing me of everything I needed to know. Provided me with a prescription with better visibility then other big box locations and educated me on many preventative maintenance things to be aware of when it comes to eye health. Kristina was amazing at helping me chose frames, get the best options possible out of my insurance and was very patient with me returning to pick up my contacts as I have a very busy schedule.
