I had an EXCELLENT experience at Dr Olinger's office! Right from the beginning of checking in, to the pre-testing, exam and ending in Optical--top-notch treatment! I've had many eye exams over the years and nothing came close to what I experienced with Dr Olinger. He was so patient and thorough and did tests that I have not seen before that made me feel extremely confident in the prescription results. He explained everything to me so clearly and I could not ask for a better Optometrist! Angie and Rosa in the Optical department were so welcoming and helpful in my frame and lens choices and also felt confident with their expertise. They have a virtual reality headset that takes measurements for my progressive lenses and this is something else you don't experience at most Optometry offices! I cannot wait to get my glasses!!! The doctor alone gets 5 stars! Dr Olinger was nice, attentive and professional. His front staff 5 stars they were very welcoming and friendly. I was not happy with the two ladies on the optical side the ones who place your order on the glasses. I took my son and wanted to take a look at their inventory for my future appointments and the lady with short blonde hair made a big deal then when she walked with me to look at the glasses she looked bothered and the other lady with the dark hair she helped us with my sons glasses after his exam and SHE CHOSE the glasses we got to look at, she didn't offer my son the chance to to look around. She wasn't even nice she gave us the minimum required customer service, she behaved like she was forced to help us. For this reason I will not be going there or taking my child back. read more

To add another layer of disappointment....they did not communicate the frame/lens return to my insurance. This means that my insurance is under the impression that I still have the glasses from last years visit. This now inhibits me from receiving frames that are covered by insurance for another year. I wasn't sure where to get an optometrist anymore or how it worked. I found this location near my home and it was great. I called and the lady on the phone was super helpful and nice. Booked an appointment fast. The place was very quiet and cozy. The people there were super nice and friendly. The optometrist was very helpful and genuine. I came in to your office to ask that you check my glasses. The way your staff handled my issue was not appropriate. They should know what to do in cases like mine. Instead it took a Yelp review to get you to offer to help. Luckily the online retailer has better customer service. They have allowed me to return the glasses for a full refund. This is the best place ever. I say it all the time. I retired in March of this year with no insurance & that left me to get medi-cal until I turn 65 in 2 years and because I am treated so well & Dr. Olinger is awesome, I paid for my visit. I could have went somewhere else & it would have been totally free, I chose to pay, I will remain a customer. The office staff is great. Most of my interaction is with Sylvia, & I can't say enough good things about her but today I also interacted with Rosa & Angie, they are awesome as well. My visit ran into their lunchtime & I was not rushed. I only knew it was lunchtime because I mentioned how hungry I was. The type of care is amazing. When you talk to them, they actually listen & remember things. I look forward to each & every visit. I live in Nevada & I drive/fly back for my appointments. I am back once again. My yearly eye exam was August 9. The staff is always great but let me point out 2 in particular, Sylvia & Rosa. The day of my exam, i ran into their lunch hour. I didn't realize it was lunchtime until i left & went to in n out burger. I looked @ my clock & couldn't believe the time. Even though it was their lunchtime Dr. Olinger & Sylvia did not rush me & that particular day, i did something very stupid. They assured me that it was no big deal. Now moving to today & Rosa, well I forgot my mask @ home but my glasses were ready. I called & asked Rosa would she bring them out to my car & she did not hesitate & brought them to me. I had been having an irritated eye for about 3 weeks or more, initially thought it was just allergies but it wasn't getting better so I needed to see what was going on. Called Dr. Olinger's office on Monday and they were able to get me in on Tuesday morning. Dr. Olinger found that I had an eyelash that was backwards and was poking my eye. I have been coming to Dr. Olinger since 95' and he has been nothing but great to me and my family. Him and his team has gone above and beyond to help us in anytime of need. I have a very rare eye condition and he has always been more than accommodating and knows all my records like the back of his hand. I have gone to him for glasses and any eye problems and even though I have Kaiser (and vsp for glasses) I still pay out of pocket for any eye health related problems that vsp doesn't cover. I recently tried a new doctor because my insurance changed, and compared to the new doctor Dr. Olinger seems to use more techniques to ensure that my eyes are in good condition. He had me wearing a prescription of -12 when it was supposed to be -15 so I couldn't see for a whole year. I go to college in New York so i didn't have time to go back and fix my prescription. Also, everything is over priced. And he says that regular contacts (not custom made) only go up to a certain amount but I went somewhere else and they got me non custom made ones (which are much cheaper, we're talking hundreds of dollars here). read more
